AAA Parking Pass - What are the rules?

I hear mention of the AAA parking pass on these boards every so often. Can someone tell me more about it?

I'm especially wanting to know how do you get one? Do you have to buy a package through AAA or just park tickets or do I just need to contact AAA with my membership number and get it without purchasing anything else?

Never mind I finally figured out how to turn my pop-up blocker off so that the ticket purchase window would come up! Now I can see that if I buy my tickets through AAA that way they'll send me along a parking pass

So, are the AAA parking spaces worth it?

The Diamond lot is right next to the handicap lot. It is close enough to walk to the entrances of the parks (except MK) At MK, it's close enough to walk to the TTC.

The parking pass does not give you free parking, it just lets you park close. depending on when you are going, there may be blackout times on using the AAA pass.

We used our AAA diamond lot pass alot last summer. It was definitely closer to park at Epcot then use the bus. At MGM you walk past the buses to get to the lot and at AK, it's pretty close. I liked being able to just walk out and get in the car and go! Our a/c cooled us down fairly quickly and we were back at the hotel in no time. We always drove to a park first thing in the am so there were lots of parking spots. I'm not sure about later in the day.

The spaces are closer for parking as compared to most others who have to park out in the boonies. But beware, at AK they are farther out than others, and they were full one day, so we were forced to park with the rest of the pesants . When you are pulling in to the lots and they start directing you where to go show the pass and they will direct you where to go.
One morning we were sent right up to the 1st spot in the 1st row behind the handicapped section. It was very nice to leave later, not having to wait for the tram to take you out into the vast wilderness of the parking lot.

Last time I booked the trip myself but worked with my AAA agent on other portions and she was nice enough to give me one. She told me they get one for every package they sell and some of those don't have cars so they have passes left over and that was where she got mine. If you can get it is very nice, but not worth very much $ if you have to pay for it or spend more to go with a AAA package.
