AAA Parking Pass questions

My AAA agent told me that I need a new parking pass for each day we park. Is this really true or is it just one pass for the entire vacation? Has anyone used these in 2006 already? Our office only has the 2005 ones as of now and says they are expired. We were told a 2006 pass will be here in our Washington office within a couple of weeks. Do they really expire? The 2005 pass has no expiration date on it.

Please let me know how these things really work.

Tandyc, if you are talking about the AAA Diamond parking pass you get when you book a package through AAA, unless it has changed from '04 they do not take it when you use it each day, they just look at it and send you to the area to park. Ours was only for the year thought it did expire in Dec.

I walked into my AAA office and just asked for a WDW parking pass with no package or anything else purchsed through AAA and they gave me the 2005 one. Then said that it had expired and they'd get me the 2006 ones when they came in. The 2005 one does say it's a Diamond parking pass, so I'm assuming the 2006 will be also. I asked what the cost is for the pass and the agent said it's a AAA member benifit! No cost at all.

So how far off is this agent?

It really depends on the office. Some people can't get them unless they book everything with AAA. Others need to only buy tickets. Others get them by just walking in.

I am awaiting my 2006 pass, and meanwhile WDW accepted my 2005 pass last week. In Orlando, AAA will only give it to you if you buy a package. However, in IL I've found offices that will give 'em to you if you just buy tickets. I haven't found one that will give me one without any purchase; I'm bartering for the one that I'm getting for 2006 with someone who got it on a package.
