Just wanted to know from those who have gone with AAA WDW packages....do you find you save a good deal overall?

I just added our package up in compairson to what I could get it from WDW online...and found the diffrence to be less than $40. I thought with AAA I'd be saving a little more than that....really that's only a $10per person discount. Anyone else run into this?

I don't understand, how can you save money by going through AAA?

I booked through AAA for my coming trip, I priced it out on the web and from the TA, they are the same. I understand it was because there is no discount due to free dinning.

Last year, I called CRO and give them the AAA code I found from mousesavers.com, they give me the AAA discount, I thought I would get the same if I were to go through AAA, but I didn't check AAA.

I know we do get some goodies, like the AAA diamond parking, discount count etc, but as far as pricing is concerned, I always assume they are the same.

Will you post the rate you get AAA ? If it includes ticket, I won't be suprised it is a bit cheaper than getting from Disney direct.

I know it does depend on if you are a AAA member. If your not...then NO you would not get any discount...but if you are a AAA member you can get some sort of discount off packages.

Ours ended up being 1050.66...priced out on disney direct it came to 1105.66 (somewhere in that area)....only saving $45....thats for...3 nights at Pop in mid-October....2 day "Base" tickets (ie...no hopper) and the dinning (not going while it's free :guilty:)....Oh and that's for four of us. 2 adults 2 kids.

This is a AGE OLD question on these boards(search um). It seems to be that there is a HUGE dicrepancy amoungst AAA TA's...each AAA region does something different from the other AAA regions.

I myself have been a AAA member for over 20 years, and NEVER had a price quote lower than Disneys own Travel company. In fact more times than not the AAA rate far exceeded the amount Disney quoted me. Yet, some people claim they get HUGE discounts through AAA, however their prices are never compared to any other quote, so I am never sure how they figure out the savings.

I just don't see it! I will just stick to using them for a tow or a battery jump if needed!

I booked my first trip through AAA. I am going August 14th.

I saved a little under $200.

I also got the free pin and lanyard and a free drink for each member of my family at the AAA VIP Lounge in the Magic Kingdom.

I priced mine out and my AAA trip is more money than Disney. Therefore, I don't think I will book through AAA at all.

Where do you find an AAA travel agent? Can you call anyone? Or does it have to be an AAA TA in your region?

I have a room only AAA discount through DIsney, and I added tickets. Now I want to add the dining (not free, but I'm still going to add it). Would it be cheaper to go through an AAA TA, or should I just call Disney and add the dining?

Too confusing. I wish they would bring back the room codes and then I would just use that discount! lol.

One thing I know for sure is that if you book through AAA (or a TA), you can't change it directly with disney.

Stemikger, can you let us know how much do you pay? and what do you get?
say how many nights ? for how many people? Adult? Child? tickets?

AAA discounts vary from state to state and even agent to agent. Even the cost of an annual AAA membership varies from region to region. I paid $65, many pay under $50. After getting quotes from the WDW website and from Dreams Unlimited, I was able to save about $150. On top of that, I booked last January when they were adding $25 Disney Dollars to all pkgs, so if you add that, then I saved $175. The AAA agency I use is in Clark, NJ. There are many AAA offices in north Jersey, but this is the only one that specializes in Disney vacations. My AAA travel agent even makes PDRs. Shop around, and be sure and do your homework as there are discounts to be had if you keep looking.

We also just booked thru AAA. We thought we hadn't gotten a very significant discount, until we tried to add the free dining. Were told by Disney that we could not add, it was one or the other, and when given a quote by them for the room w/free dining and then telling them what AAA had charged, we found out that thru Disney our package would have been $400 more. So we kept the AAA rate since it is just the 2 of us and it will be cheaper to eat w/out the dining plan. Our AAA TA is in Michigan and we are going in Sept.

AAA discounts the room only. The tickets are no longer discounted any further than if you purchased them directly from Disney in advance. Now they are a discount off of Gate prices, but the same discount as if you ordered them off Disney's website. AAA discounts are also limited by Disney.. In other words, just like the number of rooms was limited for the free dining plan. If all the alloted rooms for AAA are booked for your dates at the resort you choose, your AAA agent can still book a package for you, but there is no discount. If your resort or dates are flexible they may be able to find you one. Also, going at off times of the year helps. Seems to be more discounts there.

The first time we booked our Disney trip thru AAA we saved over $300. This was comparing the same package on the disney website. Our second trip we booked thru AAA also and saved a little under $200. Again compared to the disne website. One trip was during value season and the other during regular season. This trip we would have saved $160 but then the free dining was offered. We also had to recently reschedule our trip, but the room rate difference was $16/day and the dining would have costs us $80/day. So it was a no brainer for us.

HTH explain it some.

I saved over $600 with AAA on our 4 night Poly stay in December. I priced out the same exact package I got from our AAA agent with the Disney site when they added the 10 day MYW premium no exp option and that is what the difference was :cool1: I'm not sure why it ended up being such a savings but it is :flower:

All,
if you post a saving from AAA, will you be kind enough to post
a. the amount you pay
b. the time you travel with exact dates
c. number of people in your party, number of adults and number of children?
d. what do you get in addition to the room? say tickets (number of days?) dinning?
e. If possible your TA

There is no doubt that you can have a saving if you call AAA and compare the price with Disney web site, my understanding is that the disney web site does not allow you to enter AAA discount. However, what I had done in the past is that I called Disney and ask for a AAA discount which, I think, gave me the same discount to what I otherwise would get from booking through AAA. You can get the AAA discount code from mousesavers.

We have to compare apples with apples.

While the "saving" may encourage people book through AAA, we need to know what we will be losing, say everything will have to go through the TA (for good or for bad) hence make the right decision.

I recalled an earlier discussion when someone insisted that he/she got a discount from AAA with free dinning when most of us know that we have to pay rack rate. It turns out that the person was not aware that it would be considered value season for the time he/she goes.

The only difference I have experienced is htat I can't change the ressie thru Disney myself. The TA has to do that. You still book your own ADR's (if you want) and have complete control over that. In addition to the things that you would get if you booked directly with Disney, we got luggage tags, a coupon for a free drink in the AAA lounge at the MK, a coupon for our choice of a few things. Can't remember them all, but some were a print that you pick up at your resorts gift shop area, round of putt putt for examples. We also got free lanyards and pins for each person in our party that paid. My then free child didn't get one, but will this year as she is now 3. You also get a diamond card for discounts on certain places at WDW like restraunts etc., if you have your own car they even give you a card for parking in special designated AAA spots that are suppose to be closer to the gates. I'm not sure on this as we always use Disney transportation.

My first trip was in July 2003 value season at CBR 2 adults one infant. We booked under the 7 for 4 deal.

Second trip was May 2004 (Moms day) regular season 2 adults and a 2 yr old. Stayed at Pop, no specials at that time.

This trip is Sept 10 -14th, 2 adults 1 child staying at Pop free dining plan.

We just booked our trip through AAA on Monday.
Nov 7-14 2005
Port Orleans French Quarter - Water/pool view
8 day Magic your way ticket with park hopper option
Dining package
2 adults/1 child under 3

Disney website price $2261.46
AAA price $1956.02 + $25.00 booking fee= $1981.02

Total savings $280.44
We also get Diamond parking pass, discount card and admission to VIP lounge in the Magic Kingdom.
This is the first time that we have booked a package through AAA and so far it has been a great experience. The agent we went to didn't seem to be too knowledgeable about Disney but we knew exactly what we wanted when we went to her so that didn't bother us.

Our AAA office is in Roseville, MI and I think our AAA dues are $79 a year for me and DH.

Hope that helps!

I just booked a 2br villa and a studio villa at the BC for 13 (7 A 6 C (3 are 1 or under) So paying for 10 for 8 days 7 nights, tix for length of stay with the park hopper and premium add ons, and we saved about $800 total. I priced it through WDWTravel to see if there was a difference in price.

I have booked my WDW trips through AAA several times and saved. The problem becomes like the free food plan they offered, only so many rooms are available at the discoounted rate. We went looking for the villas at the WL and there were no rooms with AAA disc left. But this gave us a chance to try a new resort. Can't wait until 01/14/06

We booked through AAA

5 nights at POP
2- 3 day MYW non hoppers
Dining plan for 2 adults

Through Disney $1190.54

Not much, but $90 is $90. I booked with AAA more so I can give my friend the commission ( I used to work there)
