We currently have a AAA package w/10-day Park Hopper and dining booked at POR for 05/22-05/30/2007. We want to be able to come down earlier (3-4 nights)and leave earlier than package dates - hoping to maybe miss a little of the crowds Memorial Day weekend and after. Leaving early is dependent on DD being exempt from final exams. We won't know if she is exempt until 4 or 5 days prior to our package check-in date.
My AAA ta says we could shift the package dates at the last minute (with a modification fee) to the earlier dates IF there is a room available. I'm pretty sure there won't be a room avail. that last minute. My question is - Should I/Can I book a room only ressie now in hopes that we can leave early? Is this allowed? Has anyone ever shifted a package onto a separate room only? Also I'm told there are no more AAA rooms available for those days so I would have to book rack rate for those nights which I'm fine with but don't know if that would be a problem with AAA. Confusing, I know!
Thought I would ask the DIS experts as my ta while very nice seems new to Disney - it usually takes a couple of calls to others to answer any questions I have.
