Hello,
we've been AAA members ever since we owned cars. but haven't really known about the discounts AAA members get for Disney...if any.
Can someone tell me about the discounts for AAA members? (we stay on property w/ dining plan).

AAA offers room discounts, which vary depending on the level of your resort (value, mod, deluxe) and time of year. There's also a small discount on tickets. Also, if you have a car, you can get the AAA Diamond parking pass, which doesn't give you free parking, but allows you access to a special area of the parking lot.

You should really talk to your AAA office about your plans. The travel agent can run you some quotes, which you can compare to the Disney site or any other quotes you have. Or you could check out their website.

Keep in mind that if you are interested in free dining, your AAA agent can add it to an existing package, but you'll lose your room discount. So you'll have to pay the difference.

My sister just got 6 day park hoppers with expiration for $275 at her local AAA office. It was much cheaper than what was appearing online and cheaper than Undercover Tourist.

You should definitely call your local office. I have gotten cheaper prices both on hotel and tickets when calling the office directly. I also understand from reading on here that different offices offer different discounts...some better than others.

If you go to Earl of Sandwich you can get a 15% discount on food and beverages. I find this is better as they only offer 10% discount to Cast Members.

Swan - Dolphin owned restaurants give 20% off with the AAA card.
They are owned by Starwood - but are located between EPCOT and DHS - on the boat stops between them.

Some of the places include:
Garden Grove
Fresh Mediteraneam
Fountain ice cream
Picabu
Splash Grill
Java Grill

I don't know what the specific discount is. But, I booked through AAA. Before I did, I checked what the price was through Disney online. It was definitely cheaper through AAA. We booked in January. They used to give extra discounts then, but not anymore. Instead we got a $25 gift certificate and we will get a child disney suitcase. Since we don't have a child, it's not a huge incentive. But, it's better than nothing I suppose. :) Again, that was in January for the incentives.

In general, it should be cheaper to book through AAA as opposed to through Disney. I would do some research on your own though to compare your local AAA rates.

Not many AAA discounts at WDW once you get there. universal Studios on the other hand will give you 10% off anything, including food, purchased in their parks. Purchasing the AAA room only discount through WDW and buying our tickets through the WDW website saved us about 300.00 a few years ago. Make sure you ask for the AAA room only discount when booking as it is not heavily advertised anywhere.

Two years ago, we flew our kids in from Wisconsin and from California and took everyone to WDW. Everything got so expensive so fast. I searched every deal out there, used all the travel services, everything. I probably spent better than 40 hours trying to get the best possible prices. Finally just went up to the AAA office and they did all the work for $618 less than I had done it. Much easier and their prices were wonderful!

Does anyone know if you have to buy tickets from AAA to get the Diamond parking? We're looking into their ticket discount anyway - just checking.

My son is using our DVC points next month so he doesn't need accomodations. I went to the AAA site yesterday to see if they offered any discount of ticket prices. I couldn't find anything.

Can someone post a link to info if it's available online?

We are AAA members and have booked a 10 day trip to WDW this summer. I looked into AAA and amazingly enough they were only $10 cheaper for a family of 4. In fact, they didn't even show a "river view" room category at POR which we booked through Disney. Finally, we didn't care about the free kids suitcase.

Years ago we booked through AAA but I no longer see an advantage. I'll pay $10 more just knowing that everything is booked through Disney and not split up - and I call one number for anything I may need.
