I could have gotten rooms at the Carousel too, which I knew was across the street. I tried HoJos and they were sold out. I was going to do it on my own, but not knowing the area and what was good or not, and reading a zillion reviews on trip sites I just wanted an expert to do it for me.
Guess it was a mistake, huh?
Why is it bad to stay far from the park? I do have a car.....
I wanted to tell you that I did not mean for my post to sound "you shoulda"ish, and didn't mean to sound rude. If it did, I'm really sorry, as I didn't mean for it to.
I would have thought that driving was a good idea, too, but Hydroguy has come up with some great and long posts about driving vs walking, and it just seems that, mobility allowing for it, it can take quite a bit longer to drive, pay, park, walk to elevator/escalator, walk to tram, wait for tram, ride tram, get off tram, etc etc etc...that it does to walk a bit to the entrance gate. Although we've been there before, I'm a newbie at having an actual STAY there...as a kid, well, I was a kid! And as an adult, we've only done one-day trips where my brother drove us up from his place in San Diego, and we've always gotten there late etc etc etc...all this new, get to the park at opening stuff is new!

I always thought AAA agents were supposed to be good. I"m sorry you got someone who seems to be a bit of a dud. BUT I'm glad you found out ahead of time!
