AAA Made an Error!

I could have gotten rooms at the Carousel too, which I knew was across the street. I tried HoJos and they were sold out. I was going to do it on my own, but not knowing the area and what was good or not, and reading a zillion reviews on trip sites I just wanted an expert to do it for me.

Guess it was a mistake, huh?

Why is it bad to stay far from the park? I do have a car.....

I wanted to tell you that I did not mean for my post to sound "you shoulda"ish, and didn't mean to sound rude. If it did, I'm really sorry, as I didn't mean for it to.

I would have thought that driving was a good idea, too, but Hydroguy has come up with some great and long posts about driving vs walking, and it just seems that, mobility allowing for it, it can take quite a bit longer to drive, pay, park, walk to elevator/escalator, walk to tram, wait for tram, ride tram, get off tram, etc etc etc...that it does to walk a bit to the entrance gate. Although we've been there before, I'm a newbie at having an actual STAY there...as a kid, well, I was a kid! And as an adult, we've only done one-day trips where my brother drove us up from his place in San Diego, and we've always gotten there late etc etc etc...all this new, get to the park at opening stuff is new! :)

I always thought AAA agents were supposed to be good. I"m sorry you got someone who seems to be a bit of a dud. BUT I'm glad you found out ahead of time!

Most motels will want you to guarantee your stay with a credit card.

I hate to be the bearer of more bad new, but I just looked up the Parkside Inn on Tripadvisor. Most people really did not like it. Among other things, many complained of bugs and roaches.

I would be very hesitant to book this hotel. The reason it has openings is probably because of its low quality.

I would call the supervisor again. If you have to leave a message, call another AAA office and speak to a supervisor there. Keep calling any AAA office until you speak to someone who can help.

:grouphug: We all want to see this resolved well!

I'm talking to the supervisor right now. My agent is brand new, say says. Obviously. She is brand new too.

The hang up is that I have to give the two day passes back before Disney will issue new ones. She found a AAA office near my house, so I am going to go turn in the two day and she'll fed-ex the three day out to me overnight immediately.

She was telling me I could turn them in and pick them up at Downtown Disney, which maybe would be more convenient - but maybe not. Anyway, I'm off to AAA.

Well, if you book through the hotel at 1-888-parkside there is a 48 hour cancellation policy, however, their rates are not as good as on expedia.com. It seems expedia is having some type of sale for that hotel. If you book through expedia.com, your reservation will be A LOT cheaper but non-refundable. However, at this point you know you are going for sure, so does it matter?

I guess the question is, is your package with AAA cancellable and if so, how much to cancel it, is there a fee?

One last thing, how much are you willing to spend on a room? I don't know if they still have rooms or not but if you are willing to spend $179 a night it may be possible for you to stay at Paradise Pier, a Disney resort.

Call them and ask them if they still have rooms available for the Cisco-Live conference. (ask for details if you are interested.) If they do, it may be worth it to pay more and stay inside Disney.

Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel
1717 S Disneyland Dr
Anaheim, CA 92802
714-999-0990
Rooms/Rates: Standard Room - $179.00

The AAA office near you should have 3 day passes there too. Mine does.

Why can't you exchange the 2 day PH's for the 3 day PH's right there?

If you end up changing everything and staying at the Paradise Pier, you won't need a 3 day PH for EE. You get that perk for staying at the PP. You can buy 2 day PH's and have EE on Tues, July 24. You just need to show your charge slip.

I don't know why they don't have them at the AAA office, but I called two different once, and they only sell those to people who already have their hotel reservations and merely want park hoppers.

Anyway, I gave them my two-days and got a receipt. They have to overnight them to Disney and then Disney will overnight them to me. If I don't get them by the 17th, I'll start to get nervous but so far, I think it'll work out.

We won't be changing our hotel at this late date I guess, so I hope the place we are staying at is nice. It's all I can do at this point! :)

Oh and bumbleshoot, you were very nice. You have nothing to apologize for. And, I thank everybody for their help and advice. cross your fingers that they park hoppers arrive on time....
