Cost of AAA was $90. First time used at AllMus saved me $105. Can you say sweeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:teacher:

Cool! I'm thinking about joining too. Did you get a 20% discount on the rooms with AAA? Does the deposit work the same way? $200 down and pay it out 45 days before your trip. Just curious b/c I really need to get our rooms booked soon.

I'm interested too! I have never used our AAA card for discount and not sure how to book, rules, etc. TIA

I already had booked a room only reservation at AllMu through WDW. I just called up disney and asked that he check if there was a AAA discount available.

He said that there was. He had to cancel the current WDW res and reassign a new conf # under AAA. Other then the cost, the only thing that changed was the conf #. I can still access it through the WDW website.

They fully refunded my previous deposit, and then charged the new lower deposit. Everything was over the phone. I can pay the ballance either on the website or when I check in.

I just used my AAA discount through DU to get the GF RPC Concierge for next December and it saved me over $1000.00:)

yes, to answer your question. we booked our entire package through AAA, put a $200 deposit down and paid it in full 45 days in advance which was this weekend!

yippee

Thanks so much for the info. I guess we'll go thru AAA instead to package the hotel.

Just keep in mind that if you are making a room-only booking, call disney direct and ask for the AAA rate. No need to go through an AAA travel agent for that.

I booked my September trip with the AAA room only discount and saved just over $1100 (VWL 1BR) and my January 2008 trip and saved over $1300 (BWV 1BR). I'm still hoping for an AP or resident discount in January, but I'm OK with these discounts (which more than pay for the AAA and the AP both).

I am glad to hear some people get good discounts through AAA! We have not been able to get any type of discount for dates around thanksgiving week or the week before. I ended up changing our pkg back to Disney and got the visa discount. Maybe our AAA membership will pay off one of these days. May i ask how far in advance you booked? We may be waiting too late to book with AAA.:)

My AAA TA just called this morning to tell me all the rooms at the CR MK view were booked the week of our spring break. Lucky for me, I had already made the room only. She is checking into whether she can take over the reservation to do add all the other packages on. I'll be waiting to see what kind of discount I get.

AAA saved me enough on my package that I am getting "free" travel insurance and still some savings left. My original quote was $3600 with no insurance, so $3720 with it. With AAA and adding insurance, my new price is $3590.

Just wait for the first time you need a tow... you'll be kissing their feet for coming to your rescue!!!

I booked in February for September, and I just booked last week for January (I prefer to wait until the rates are actually released, so I know for sure what my maximum cost will be). I booked both room only, direct with Disney, with AAA discount.

When you sign up for AAA, ask if they're running any specials. I was able to get my membership for $50...plus add my husband for free. I was able to save $360 on my Poly package, too.

Good luck, everyone.

We are saving $500 on our trip to the Poly next July. We booked 11 months in advance, and the CR wing rooms were already booked, so we decided on the Poly. I would imagine the earlier you book, the better.

Our AAA membership fee was also 50.00. It saved us 162.00 for r/o at BWI for upcoming Nov. (still hoping for AP rate) and for our July trip had to buy tkts and they were a lot less than anyone else. + I got VIP parking pass. :goodvibes

Thanks to reading this board -- just called Disney direct and applied AAA discount to our January 26-Feb 2 ressie for a Tower room with MK view. Saved 15% ($500) -- every bit helps!

Thanks!

I got a package with tix and room and the AAA discount saved me $112!!! YAY! I am getting the cheap membership of $47 but still saving $65 for the trip. Not great but then I have AAA for a whole year too. Thanks for the info everyone and I'm quite pleased with how cheaply I'm getting this first vacation done. :thumbsup2

If you've never stayed at the Poly before, you will LOVE it!!! It's a very relaxed feeling - it's my favorite and I've stayed at the GF also, but I like the feel of the Poly much better!

Have fun!
