AAA - January is Disney Month - $25 gift card

Asked for a quote after Christmas on 12/27 from AAA for a summer trip to WDW. She sent me quote on 12/28. I mulled about it for a few days and decided to go for it. Well I gave her my MC # for my deposit on Jan 2. We received our confirmation and we are all set.

Now the kicker I come home from work today and in the mail I received the AAA Travel vacation magazine. It states that January is Disney month and if you book a trip during January you get a $25 Disney gift card. What the hey nothing was mentioned by the AAA Agent. So I just emailed her asking since I booked in January I am eligible for the gift card correct? I also asked why this was not mentioned when I gave her my cc # for the deposit.

Your thoughts on this. Do you think I am wrong is asking for the Disney gift card?

No. Your well within your rights to ask for it but you may not get the gift card until you get your travel documents.

BTW, ask about the kids carry on luggage that is supposed to be free with your booking, too. At least thats the deal for midatlantic aaa.

I have no problem waiting for it, but I feel I should get this. I mean the trip is so expensive during the peak summer months so anything I can get as a perk would be pretty great.

Its possible she had not seen the material when you booked...

I would give her the benefit of the doubt and as long as you get the offer everything is fine.

I don't like how their website makes it next to impossible to see what the travel specials are in other regions! If it weren't for people posting AAA specials in their area, the rest of us wouldn't know what is available!

we booked ours a while ago, but as soon as the deal came out our TA just called and send she had changed it so that we received the gift card and the luggage. I would just call and ask.

I remember booking a trip through AAA right after Christmas but before January (I think last year) for one of our trips and naturally the $25 gift card offer was not available then. I received our AAA magazine in the mail within a few days of booking and saw the $25 gift card promo and thought I'd call to ask and if I remember they weren't able to add it. HOWEVER - when I received our confirmation in the mail I saw the $25 gift card promo was on there so it was added automatically when I booked at the end of December. I'm not sure if this happens all the time but it was done prior to me calling so I assumed for customer service they backed up the last week or something and added them? I received the gift card at check in with no issues.

I'm hoping that when you receive your confirmation you'll see it on there!

Just heard back from our AAA Agent. No go!! She said our trip does not fall in the required dates as she mentioned below. Seems if you travel from mid June thru mid August you pay premium on everything. Rats why is it the only time we can go we can never get a break.

I re-verified with Walt Disney World the January Disney Month gift card promotion. The dates for travel that was included for the offer was for travel February 17th-April 16th or April 28th-June 14th or August 14th-October 1st 2011.

Also, the "fine print" for the free luggage and $25 gift card promos is below. Could your agent adjust your reservation so that it was made 1/3? That's when the free luggage started.

Plan on flying Southwest Airlines, so luggage will be free. But I will keep this in mind in case we fly another airline.

I dont see any blacked out period for the gift card but I think you may have missed out on it by a day. The offer states that the trip must be booked between 1/3 and 1/31/11. You sent your deposit on 1/2/11.

Thank you for researching this for me, I really appreciate it. My trip was actually booked on 1/3 according to my itinerary, I sent my deposit late on 1/2 so my agent did not receive my email until 1/3. Again sounds like I missed out due to the blacked out dates. It mentions blacked out dates in the fine print without listing the actual dates. My agent gave me the dates of blackout after I inquired about the GC. Oh well I tried.
