AAA/Free Dining/Insurance

I booked with AAA (saved nearly $500), and took the trip insurance.

Here are my questions: If free dining is offered, do they have to cancel my existing reservation and create a new one? If so, does that mean I lose my insurance deposit on the first reservation and have to purchase it a second time?

I don't know, if I get the insurance I always add it just before I make the final payment, that way I know I won't have any issues if a better deal comes a long before then.

They don't have to cancel it, they just have to apply the code for the free dining if it comes out. You will lose your AAA discount though, you can only use one at a time.

AAA told me if I book for the last week of sept and the free dining comes out I may not be able to get the same resort(POP). They have to apply for week all over again?? thinking october 27th trip may be a better choice but more expensive. Has anyone gone in late october. Is it much less humid ?

That is not the case, I've done it several times (for myself and several others) and all I needed was the code. I actually called for more than 10 reservations last year and didn't have to change weeks or even reservation numbers. I've also been in Oct., both the first and last weeks, and the humidity is about the same, but it's a little chillier at night.
