I am beginning to think about a Jan 2008 trip to WED :) and am a bit confused as to the AAA discounts. My last trip was in Sept 2006 with free dining and I booked through a Disney Specialist TA. I am trying to weigh costs for room only, separate tickets and pay as your go dining vs a MYW package with or without dining this go around since free dining will not be in the picture for an early Jan trip. The current special for 2007 is a MYW trip with Hopping and Water for $377 per person based on 2 Adults in a Value resort. When I go to AAA and look at their rates for this special they show the same cost. How do you get the AAA discount for a package trip that is lower than booking straight with WDW travel or through a non AAA agent? :confused3 Hope everyone on this board is having a great holiday season. :goodvibes

We like to go the WDW, Ft. Wilderness for spring break. A year prior to my visit I will book a campsite with CRO ... they will say that the one-night deposit will be based on that current year's rates (say 2006) and then I will be notified of the new (2007) rates once they are established.

Then around July-August (say 2006) the AAA rates are released for the following year (2007). At that time, I call CRO and ask to have the AAA discount applied to my reservation. Sometimes I am told that it is not available (they only have so many available) and other times I get lucky.

It is my understanding that a AAA discounted "package" is available through AAA Travel Services ... however, the discount is only on the room portion. Essentially, this is the same deal you would get by going through CRO for the package and/or the individual portions of the package.

If you are not doing the dining thing, you would essentially get your tickets through one of the discount ticket sites listed by Mousesavers and then get a AAA discounted room through CRO. I've always tried to do things separately because I can get what I want at a lower price plus the cancellation policy is more to my liking.

Other people like to have it all taken care of.

Of course those who want the dining option will need to book a package with at least 1 day's MYW ticket included.

Hope this helps.

I have always booked room with AAA or annual pass discount and bought food as we went. But this time I want to try the dining plan so I had to book thru AAA to get the package with the dining plan and tickets to get the AAA rate on the room as well. pirate:
