AAA discounts on food or merchandise?

I heard that you can show your card and save at counter food restaurants and/or merchandise...is this true? If so, how much is the discount?

Yes, I was able to use my CAA card (the Canadian version) at all the Universal locations for merchandise and food. I know some people mention that certain carts (I think the Butterbeer cart in the HP section) doesn't take the AAA card, but everywhere else should. And I believe the discount was 10% or so.

Wow we are AAA members and I did not know this either. We leave soon for our trip.

So even if you got water or maybe a pretzel at a vending cart it is still 10% off with the AAA card?

The discount is not valid at most vending carts. Most restaurants and stores will accept the card for a discount though.

Are there AAA discounts on Blue Man Group and the Luau also? I'm trying to decide if purchasing an AP is worth it for these discounts, since it seems like I may be able to get them already with AAA.

The Blue Man Group I have no idea but the Luau at the RPR no cause the hotels do not give AAA discounts

The butterbeer carts do not honor the AAA discount but if you get your butterbeer at either the Hogs Head Inn or the 3 Broomsticks, the discount applies.
