AAA discounts on disney resorts?

Do AAA members get a discount on Disney resorts? I would love to stay onsite, but we are going during peak season, do it is expensive even for the value resorts. I am considering joining AAA if it will get me a discount. I can't find anything on their website. Anyone know?

We just joined for this very reason and should save btwn $25-$30 a night at a moderate resort. The quotes we were getting started at $175 for a standard room (Easter week), but with AAA discount they'll go down to $148.

Room only rate. We already have our airfare. They also have car rental discounts if you want to get a car.

I am saving 15% on my room only rate at Boardwalk Inn via AAA. I joind AAA last year just for the Disney resort discounts and I am now a HUGE AAA fan. And I don't even own a car! I estimate that my $59 AAA membership saved me more than $1,000 last year and the bulk of the savings were at Disney.

Keep in mind that there are a limited number of rooms at each resort that are eligible for a AAA discount. You might want to make sure that your resort has discounted rooms available before getting the AAA membership. You do not have to have the membership number available at the time of reservation; just make sure you bring your card when you check in.

So, I should call, and ask if they have AAA rate rooms available for my dates, which are 3/26-31 and if so, what those rates are? Then if they do and I save enough money, get the AAA card and show it when I check in?

I know I can save $14 OFFour Amtrak tickets with AAA, so as long as I can save some on the hotel, it will be worth it.

I was planning to stay offsite, but I'll need to rent a car if I do. I checked with the hotel and their first shuttle doesn't come until 9:00 and the last one leaves the parks at 8:30pm. I am assuming that the Disney buses run earlier and later, right?

When I figured in the extra cost of either a taxi back from the parks a few nights or a rental car, I will actually come out cheaper staying in a value resort.

I just made 2 reservations for upcoming trips...at different times and with different CM's and both times I was asked for my CAA/AAA membership card number. The first time I advised I didn't have it handy and the CM said she couldn't book it at the CAA/AAA rate without the number so I put her on hold and went and found my card... I had it handy when I made my second reservation. Maybe not all CM's ask for the information, but I have read on other threads more CM's are asking for your membership number now. The CM's both said you still have to show your card when you check-in. Just an FYI.

The first time I advised I didn't have it handy and the CM said she couldn't book it at the CAA/AAA rate without the number so I put her on hold and went and found my card... I had it handy when I made my second reservation. Maybe not all CM's ask for the information, but I have read on other threads more CM's are asking for your membership number now. DH and I are AAA members and on our MYW Package we saved over $250 and on our room only nights we saved $30 a night!


AAA is definately worth it!!!

Your information is more up to date than mine. It used to be that the reservation agents would reserve a AAA discounted room without having the AAA number, but it appears that is no longer the case. Good to know.

I think it must be up to the CM, we made our reservation (for July) on December 26th and they reserved a room for us w/out our AAA number. They just said to call them with the AAA# or show our card when we check in.

We booked rooms for the WL for December (booked them this past December) and are using AAA. We were not asked for our number and werent even told to have the card at check in (although I already know that).

If you want a package discount you will have to go through an AAA agent.

You will need your AAA number when you call Disney for a room only discount. You might get a CM that won't ask you for it but they are few and far between.

When I called to book a previous trip, the CM couldn't give me the AAA price without my number. I called to book a couple of days ago (with card in hand), and she never asked for the number. I was advised that I needed it to check in, though. I think it all depends on who answers the phone.
