AAA Discount

Hi... I'm new to listening to the podcasts, but I LOVE them! They keep me so entertained while I'm at the gym! Thanks! I had a question about last week's show though... didn't know if anyone could help me. The two women... so sorry I can't think of their names right off (I'm really bad at that), who did the Disney Transportation segment, mentioned something that confused me. They mentioned AAA discounts (when they were talking about the AP discounts), at restaurants and shops. I'm sure I'm missing something, but it sounded like they said that at certain places you can get AAA discounts.... but that just sounds too good to be true to me. Is that only if you book through AAA? Can anyone shed some light on what I (think) I heard? TIA!

There are several discounts to be had with AAA at WDW. The one I most commonly use is for room only reservations at the hotels. You do not have to go throught AAA, your travel agent can do it or you can when you book directly with Disney. You will need your card number when you make your reservation and you will need to present it on check-in. AAA discounted rooms are limited and may not be available on booking.

Some will surprise you. I walked into a discount at Wolfgang Puck's Express at Downtown Disney. AAA should probably be able to help you with more sites. The Swan/Dolphin will let you book rooms with the discount but that price will vary with whatever specials or rates they are offering at the time of booking.

Since the AP room only reservation discounts have been a little anemic when I have gone lately, I have found the AAA discount to be comparable- and they can be made well in advance.

I have also heard there is a special section for AAA booked patrons at the parks for parking, but I think you have to go through AAA for that.
