AAA Discount, free dining and when to pay deposit ??

If you have AAA do you have to book your vacation thru AAA or can you call CRO and book thru them and tell them you have AAA?

Also, if free dining is offer at the end of August and you have a AAA discount does that affect it in anyway?

Last question. When do you have to leave a deposit when making a reservation either thru AAA or CRO.

1. you can book room only with AAA discount through CRO, but you can only book package w/ DDP and AAA discount on room through AAA itself.

2.you will have to cancel your original reservation and rebook to get free dining. you will lose your room discount, but more often than not free dining is a bigger savings.

3. not exactly sure, but we recently booked a package with AAA, received 20% off room rate and paid for DDP and paid a deposit which roughly equaled 30% of the entire trip at the time we booked, the entire trip must be paid in full 45 days prior to the trip.

JanineandMike is right about the package vs. room only discount.

The deposit is $200 and is due when you make the firm reservation. The balance is due 45 days before departure.

When I originally called about our trip for september I had no idea where I wanted to stay, I really wanted AKL But loved POR last year when we visited but thought I should try something new...
Anyways, The lady at CRO let me put a 14 hold on the room without a deposit,I picked AKL and she said I could call back and change the resort up to 45 days before our stay (I did we are now staying at Poly) which I later paid online to secure my reservation...
