I have a pass for the AAA Diamond lot parking at the parks. It's supposed to be closer than public parking I guess. Is this true? Is it worth trying to park there? And is it available at all 4 parks? Thank you

i've got mixed feelings on this.
we used it once at MK and did get closer to the entrance.
however, several times we were sent around in circles because nobody knew where to send us.
if you arrive really early to the parks, it's probably just as convenient to park in the regular spots.
i will be giving it another try this year, though.
good luck!

Can you tell me how I can get thet AAA diamond parking passes? Do I have to book my trip through AAA?

Officially, yes you have to book your trip through AAA. Unofficially, it depends. Some give it to you if you buy passes. In my case, I booked a trip to US/IOA and asked if I could have one (in case I wanted to go to WDW).

At MGM, the parking is a the end of the rows so you are close to the trams.

At Epcot, after going throgh the tolls, do NOT follow the parking signs. There will be a small sign on your left and it says to follow the green? line for AAA parking. It gets you to the second row left of the monorail station.

I am not sure about AK.

At AK you need to tell the people who are directing the cars. They normally put you at the end of the lane so that you do not have to walk too far to get to the tram.

MK you need to follow the Handicap sign/blue line.

We had a problem at Epcot. When I finally got to the people directing traffic they told me I had to exit the park and come back in and go in a different direction. The parking was great when we finally parked. Very close to the entrance.

MGM park was also close to the entrance.

I would recommend anyone who uses the pass to ask where to go when they pay. It is worth it.

the only park i think the aaa pass is worth using is at epcot.....just follow the green line while driving.....it's a short walk into epcot.

we have been instructed to just park at the end of row, near where the tram picks you up at mk and ak. really this is the best way to do it.......as there is always a tram nearby where the cars are currently parking. i believe you can park closer at mk than where we were instructed to park....but i still think this would be a longer walk than just catching a tram.

at mgm.....it seemed like a little bit of walk from the aaa parking area......especially when there are trams that can take you right to the aisle that your car is in.

we received our passes for free by just asking for them at our aaa office.......didnt buy anything at the time........we didnt even know you were supposed to buy a pkg or tickets thru them. obviously the agent helping us didnt know this either....;)

just one more emphasis. I got my pass when we purhcased 10 annual passes. Mine disintegrated because i live less than 5 miles from MK, so it stayed in the window all the time. When I asked my friends at AAA if they would replace it I was told by the top person at AAA MK that the passes are to be given out only to persons booking trips and that it was good only for that trip.

If I understood correctly they are soon going to have the travel dates printed on the pass as will only be honored on those dates. Any not bearing dates will no longer be honored at all :-(

:(

This may not come to pass but it was something I was told at the AAA desk at MK just last week.

We booked our trip through aaa, but others who have just bought park passes at aaa have got it too. IT WAS AWESOME! At Animal Kingdom and MGM we used it and got to park right next to the handicap spots near the front entrances. It was really worth it, especially when it rained.
Just tell the parking attendants when you enter and they will direct you. (Usual follow the blue handicap line)

We got one after purchasing our 4-day PH passes from our local AAA. We didn't use it since we were on-site and didn't drive to the parks, except for Dec 31. We didn't use it then becase the pass stated that the whole month of December was blacked-out for using the pass, as was other peak times of the year. However, at AK on the 31st we walked right past the AAA area which was open and a short walk from then entrance.

Also note that the pass doesn't get you free parking, it only gives you access to the AAA section of the park's lot.
