Is anyone familar with what kind of AAA discounts the parks, restaurants and stores give? Any help would be appreciated. :)

Here are some of the things I know of... there may be more.

When I received my confirmation letter form CRO, included was all of my AAA benfit information. (when I called to make reservations I told CRO I was an AAA member when asking for discounts-- they may have marked my name) There was a card / flyer included called the AAA Diamond Card. On this was listed all of the discounts could be claimed with this AAA diamond card along with a vaild resort ID card. Discounts include shopping at world of disney, Dining, services, merchandise, recreation and lesiurs, and disney tours. Here is an abreviated list from the flyer ( the list is way to long to copy the whole thing here, but it is a start)

Dining: 10% discount on food and non-alcholic beverages at fultons, Portobello Yatcht Club, Planet Hollywood, Bongos Cuban Cafe, Wolfgang Puck, the Official All Star Cafe. 15% discount on FD and NA-Bev at Earl of Sandwich. 20% Discount on FD and NA-Bev @ House of Blues, Traders Steak & Seafood House(Best Western), Outback Steakhouse (Wyndham Place), and Garden Grove, Gullivers, Kimono's Palio's and Spash.

Recreation and Lesure: 15% on one round at Winter Summerland, and at all 5 championship golf course (subject to availablity), 15% on water mouse rentals, 15% off any water Therapy at GF resort & Spa, 10% on Sammy Duvall Water Sports Center. AND 10% off a Ride along Driving Experience at Richard Petty.

Services: 10% off on auto repairs at the AAA car care center

Merchandise: 10% on purchases at world of disney at DTD, on purchases at Planet Hollywood, House of Blues, and Bongos Cuban cafe (excluding CD's and Tobacco)

Tours: 15% off the behind the scenes tours at all four parks (subject to availablity)

OK --- So this is the whole thing with out the numbers infront of each name But hey, we all like to save a little money!!!

Hope this is helpful.

I believe those discounts are only available if you book your package through AAA.

I booked with my AAA card but not through AAA directly. Will I get a diamond card? Discounts?

If your car ever broke down in the middle of nowhere you'll be happy that you have AAA.

You get all sorts of discounts as well. I went to Colonial Williamsburg last year and got discount annual passes for less than the price of daily passes.

ok...please clarify. All the discounts that were listed by "tubachick". These are only available if you booked your entire trip through AAA?
I booked a MYW online through the Disney website. Are there any discount advantages for me at WDW?
Thanks

I booked by reservations with the AAA rate and gave the CRO my # but I never got a diamond card with my confirmation. Do I have to call and request one or will my regular AAA card give me the same benefits?

bumping.... :Pinkbounc

I booked my ASSp ressie directly with WDW Reservations, but asked for a AAA rate, giving them my AAA card # and got it...$84!....

Now, will I be able to use my AAA card other places to get discounts for restaurants, etc., like those listed?

or is it AAA discounts just for those Vacation Packages booked directly with AAA?

I am a AAA member, and booked a MYW package through them. When we got the ticket package, there was a special AAA Diamond card included. I think that you have to book the package through AAA to get all the benefits that Tubachick listed.

Not positive, though, so maybe if you are a AAA member, it would be worth a call to your local office to see if you can get this benefit as part of your membership.

You are correct, you only get the Diamond card and the AAA preferred parking pass too if you book a AAA Vacation package. Regular AAA room discounts do not get you anything extra.

Yup, gotta book thru AAA directly to get that Diamond Card and those discounts listed above. Additionally, you get the preferred parking at the parks and a voucher to get a free drink at the AAA Information Center located in the MK.

I'm looking forward to using the Diamond Card to play some Putt-Putt :cool1: and then I'm sure it will get used a bit at the Disney store Downtown, that 10% will come in handy.

So I cant get the tour discount if I dont book a package?
-TIA

The 15% discount on the tours is supposed to only be for the Diamond Card. However, you could always try calling 407-WDW-TOUR and see if they have a regular AAA discount.

I am somewhat curious as to how (or if) they will verify you have the Diamond Card when you book the tour. There's no special number on the card, it just says you have to have the card and a valid resort pass (key card), but I don't know if they will actually check that info when you go for the tour. I couldn't imagine someone showing up and them taking the discount off because you "forgot your card".

I might be doing the DiveQuest thing at Living Seas so if/when I call to do that reservation, I'll post what they say about the diamond card discount.

I was in the AAA office the other day and asked about Diamond. It is an upgrade in your membership. You can pay extra to have this if you want it. I only have the basic membership so it does not include Diamond. Maybe if you book everything through them they give you the upgrade free. But that is not what they told me. Anyone can upgrade to Diamond.
I did book my car rental through them (Budget) and it was extremely cheaper than online. They have their on codes which we are not privy to.

I'm not certain that info is correct. The only membership levels I'm familiar with are the AAA Basic, AAA Plus, and AAA Plus RV.

The AAA Diamond Card is only temporary and valid only during your stay at Disney and you have to present both the diamond card and a valid resort ID for these discounts to apply. You might be able to purchase it, but I think it's just a perk for purchasing your vacation package thru AAA.

We booked a package through AAA, and are looking forward to the discounts at WODisney and the water mice rentals.

Previous poster is correct-We've booked both ways-using a AAA room only discount (booked through AAA) and a AAA Vacations pkg. The AAA Vacations pkg is the one that gets you the Diamond card and the preferred parking pass - not just a regular AAA room only booking-that just gets you the AAA room rate but no extra "perks". There isn't any "special" AAA rates for tours, meals etc at WDW-these come with the AAA Vacation pkg booking and yes-you must show your room key and the Diamond card to get discounts on merchandise at selected WDW stores etc. The Diamond card and the preferred parking pass are supposed to be only for the duration of the pkg you booked but the parking pass has an expiry date of December 2005 (basically good for the whole year). Not sure whether the Diamond card has an expiry date on it. I'll have to check.

The Diamond Card also has an expire date of Dec 31, 2005... so technically, I guess if you book a vacation package early in the year thru AAA you could get the diamond card and then later in the year you could go back and as long as you stay on-site and have a resort ID, you coud still use the diamond card.
