AAA booking question?

I just got a quote from AAA and it's the exact same one as on disneyworld.com........ why? The AAA lady says that I must've told them that I belonged, but it never asked me...

You can't get AAA price quotes at Disney's website. You have to call them. If they are quoting the same price, I would call Disney and see what the price through them is with the AAA discount applied. This is if you are booking a room only reservation. If you are booking a package, you have to go through AAA to get the AAA rate on the room portion of your package.

But that's what I was trying to tell her.. it was the same price for the package as disney.com. So I guess there's no discount?

Well, I usually book room only, so I'm not an expert. But from what I have read here at DIS, there is an AAA discount on the room portion of the package if you book it directly through AAA. So there should at least be a small difference. Are you sure that the rooms on both quotes are identical? You're not somehow getting a quote on a standard room from one and a preferred room on the other, for example?

I dont know if this applies to room only but I know that often with a package aaa quote insurance is automatically included which can come out to just about the same amount as the price difference for the aaa discount.

There may not be any rooms left available with the aaa discounted price.

When are you booking for? What were you quoted? is it a package? how many adults (18 and over) are in your party?

The questions that Beth_Cam asked are very important. however I booked through AAA and got a very nice discount at the CR. Call them and if you don't get the answer you are looking for thank them, hang up and call again. I was fortunate enough to get a fantastic agent that was extreme helpful and really wanted me to not only get the best rate but have a good time.

dont forget that you can also use any aaa agent anywhere to make your reservations. You do not have to book with your local agent.

The most likely problem is that the resort you wanted does not have any AAA rooms left. I had to arrive on a different day in order to get an AAA room. Try it with another resort or changing dates and see what happens.

If you are getting the AAA discount, you should save quite a bit. We're saving close to $400 on 8 nights at the Polynesian in July, for example. The precise percentage off varies.

As someone else noted, it's possible there are no more rooms with the AAA rate available, or that insurance has been included. There are also some rooms (suites) where AAA cannot get you a discount, and some seasons (Holiday I believe) where you cannot get an AAA discount.

But remember: if you want a package with the AAA rate, you must go through an agent at an AAA office. If you want a room only rate, you can call CRO directly and tell them you're an AAA member.

However a regular season discount on a standard room at pop for 7 nights only adds up to $116 .... which is why i suggested the possibility of insurance being the issue since insurance for 2 adults is 119.
