AAA - Booking online vs thru TA

Is there any benefit to booking (room only) through an AAA travel agent vs. just booking it myself online on the AAA site?

If I book it myself and a better discount comes up, can I apply it?

If I book room only thru AAA, but something comes up where doing a package is cheaper, can I change my room only to a package? Or would I have to totally cancel it and start over? (I know the AAA discount is only on the room portion of any package)

Well, my first thought would be to call and talk to an agent. Yesterday I got on AAA to price WL online. The price showing (per day) for the first 5 days of the trip (Regular season) was less than the last 4 days which fell in Value season. Hello?? This was room only. I didn't have a spot to pick the specific room either. While many people may have done fine online with AAA, I am a firm believer in talking to someone to do my final arrangements after I price it out online to have all my prices and info in front of me. It also gives you a name and number to talk to when you want to make a change.
