Hi, guys! Hubby and I are going to US/IOA for 2 nights/3 days and staying at the Portofino Bay Resort at the end of our Disney trip later this month. I know that you can get a 10% discount at "select" US/IOA stores and on "select" food. I was wondering if somebody could give me more info on which places participate in this. I also had seen something about being able to get a coupon book, but I can't remember where I found it or what it said. Has anyone gotten this book before and did it have useful coupons in it? We have a AAA card, and any little discount would be appreciated. :goodvibes Any info you guys could give me would be great. Thanks!! :)

the coupon booklet is the same as in years past.

i have not found it to be helpful.
you can get this booklet at the hotels at check in or the main merch stores in both parks.
not all guests can get the booklet.

the deals are not that great unless you have littles and do city walk for the buy an entree and kids eat free from a limited menu.

the AAA is good.
i have used it over the years for universal.

you can get 10% discount off of food and merch in the parks and city walk.
carts are excluded.
you show your card prior to food ordering, or your merch being run up.

if you see the AAA emblem on the window outside the the restaraunt in city walk, you will get the 10% discount if you ask for it.

don't see that emblem?
inquire with your server inside.

you can get up to a 30% discount off your room if you booked with it when you made the ressie.

i have both the AAA and AP.

i use both in the parks. same discount.

hope this helps!

Thank you so much for the info, macraven! It is definitely helpful. :goodvibes

it is good to know to not waste time trying to get the coupon book. i remember we got one when we went in 2008, and we didn't use a single coupon.

and i didn't know to see about the citywalk restaurants. we plan to eat a couple, so i will definitely check when we get there.

thanks again! :wizard:

Can you stack the discount? Doubt that can be done but wasn't sure what you meant when you said i use both in the parks...

studios and ioa.

that is what i meant.

sorry, sometimes i ramble...........

can't stack the discounts, they will ask you to decide which discount you want.
always take the one that is greater for the discounts..

i think it was back in 2007, maybe 08, that the perferred annual pass started giving only a 10% discount for food and merch.

prior to that, it was a 15% discount.

i used my ap up until then for the discounts.

always have had the aaa.
they have always given 10% discounts.

now for me, it doesn't matter which card i use.
both are at 10% discounting.

hi can you get any AAA discount when buying park tickets, we only want a one day two park ticket, so looking for the cheapest way to buy tickets, thanks susie

I also am a AAA member and have an AP. You can purchase discounted US / IOA tickets through AAA at select locations. Not sure what the discounted rate is. You can find more information on the www.aaa.com site. Undercover Tourist (www.undercovertourist.com), a ticket discount company, offers the 1-day/2-park US / IOA ticket for $115.95 (incl. all taxes + free shipping), $11 less than the gate price. I have used Undercover Tourist a few times and they are great to do business with. They will tell you it can take up to three weeks for tickets to reach you, but they always arrive within several days. They also allow returns for unopened, unused tickets.

I did buy an AP for just myself for our recent trip to Universal as received a significant room discount at the Royal Pacific Resort and I had already planned to come back one more time within the year. Because of those two things, the AP was a better deal for me than the 2-day/2-park ticket. However, already being a AAA member, I was a little disappointed to find out that the Preferred AP offered the same discount. To make the AP more attractive to more people I think they need to go back to offering the 15% discount. You can still get a 15% AP discount on regular park tickets for others in your party, and I appreciate that, but still want them to rethink their decision about reducing the discount on everything else.

Call your local AAA to see if they have tickets. I don't know what the 1 or 2 day price is, but we got 4 day, 2 park tix for $145 per person at AAA. Undercover Tourist was $146.96. So they were both in the same price range.

I would check AAA, Costco and Undercover Tourist for the tickets. One day tickets aren't usually discounted as heavily as multiple days are.

susie2....one day tickets, the cheapest I found was from AAA. our local office here in Michigan had them. I can't remember what the individual prices were, but I got two adults and two kids for 320.
