AAA and the Diamond parking pass

How do you get the parking pass? Can you just buy tickets from them or do you have to book a whole package?

Sometimes you can just go ask without buying anything. It all depends on your local office...give them a call.

Our AAA agent said the pass is only available to those who booked a package through AAA. It doesn't sound like that great of a perk though:

It's an AWESOME perk for those of us who have an aversion to the trams, especially at AK and Epcot. I'd be lost without my AAA pass.

Technically No.I know I won't be using mine either but my name is printed on the bottom of it.

It sounds like you visit very often if your neighbors borrow yours. Is it specific to dates? I've never seen one.
I'd hate for it to go to waste..but if my name is on it, I'd be uncomfortable letting someone (I didn't know) use it. Too bad.

Technically, you're only supposed to get the AAA diamond parking with the purchase of a Magic Your Way package. However, some agents will give them to you without booking anything with them. Mine will give you one as long as you purchase your park tickets through them. They're not transferable, and they're probably not reusable either, but I kept mine from our April trip earlier this year and I'm going to be using it again when we go back this November.

Oh, and my name isn't on mine anywhere. My AAA agent just reached into her desk and gave me one from the stack she had. Name wasn't on the one I got from AAA last year either.

I borrowed one from a friend who went in August. It has his name on the back (it folds in half) but he put white-out on the name which is on the back. He went on and on about how good it was. I am not sure if we will use it but I have it just in case.

It doesn't have specific dates on it...it's good for the entire year, minus the listed blackout dates (although sometimes they will let you use it on those too). There is a spot for your name to be written in, but I didn't even write mine and they've never, ever looked for it. They do check for the pass itself tho' before they let you in the lot, especially at Disney Hollywood and AK.

I just got my pkg and on the parking pass it has my last name printed out and says on it "non-transferable".Maybe they changed recently.last year my name was not printed on it

Just ask at the parking toll plaza and they will direct you. You will most likely have to show it before being allowed into the lot. At Epcot and AK, it's close enough to walk without a tram. You can take a tram at Disney Hollywood but you don't really need to...it's longer than the distance in those other two tho'. At MK, ALL the parking sucks so it's just a matter of degrees. Usually the Diamond lot is fairly close to the handicapped parking.

AAA policy states that the parking passes are non-transferable. The DISboards is not the place to discuss skirting that policy. Since the OP has received an answer to the original question, I'm closing this thread.
