Just called Disney Reservations and point blank asked if the AAA agents can use the MYW codes (for park hopper/water park feature) in addition to the AAA discount. She said they could not use both - its either AAA discount or the MYW codes.

I just want to make sure I am getting my facts straight. Have others found this to be true? Either you get the AAA discount code (usually room rack rate discount) or the MYW new codes? :confused3

My understanding is that that has always been the policy. It is either one discount or the other, never both. I have a feeling that some on these boards might have had ther AAA agent book the MYW package discount, thereby creating the illusion that they were getting both discounts when in fact they were only recieving one of them. Hope this helps!

When I called AAA, their quote was higher than the MYW Jan-March discount (and they didn't offer the extras like the water parks thrown in). When I booked with CRO, they said they could not apply the AAA discount because the package was already discounted. :sunny:

Your understanding is basically correct, but just to add to the confusion. During the last discount cycle, I believe that AAA agents had special codes for discount packages, that enabled them to save more than a regular person simply calling up for a MYW package. The extra savings above the non-AAA MYW package was not that high -- like $100 or $200 for a seven night package, but it was a bit different. There do not seem to be any such packages being offered this time around.

If you intend to use the plusses or the hoppers, the new MYW deal almost always works out to be a better deal than an AAA discounted package. So there's no reason to use AAA. (There's certainly no downside to using AAA, though -- they're just booking the same thing you could book yourself.) The one time when the AAA discount should work out better is where you are not planning to use any plusses or any hopping, so you would just buy the base MYW tickets.

Thanks again for confirming that what the CM told me was true. Makes me feel alot better that I wasn't being "mis-informed" by my AAA agent. Thanks again !!!!

There are times when we (CAA/AAA) will have exclusive packages for our members that are different (sometimes better) than the public packages. Apparently January is unofficially disney month at caa/aaa and we usually have a good offer for packages purchased in January. I only started this May so I haven't experienced a January yet so I can't tell you anything specific. My particular office is planning a disney day for sometime that month.

Hello all I am new to this board but looking forward to being here.

I did use the AAA discount for my room only though. I have an AP and did not need the MYW ticket. However it was 94 dollars more than the AP discount that has become complicated to use. We are four adults traveling to the world from different parts of the country and we will have two rooms but are tying them both to me and my discounts.

For us AAA was the best way to go. So I think it all depends on your own needs.

We did way all of the options available that I could find.

Can't wait till Jan. 19

Not sure yet Suzy, but I'll keep you posted. My manager is excited about having a "disney expert" in the office so her wheels have been turning!!!
