Does anyone have any experience with finding out the difference between what lists as available at AAA rates on AAA.com and what they actually have?

I booked our ressies at AAA rates throught CRO weeks ago. When I called the CM told me that they have a separate block of rooms assigned to them than what is given to AAA to sell directly. Despite that, she told me that the same "views" were available as what were showing up as available online.

Then a few days ago, I was checking out the site, and it now says that there are many other "views" available for those same dates. I called CRO and the CM said that she still only showed the higher level rooms available. She suggested that I go and try to book online and then call them back if I need to change or cancel. I did that, but when I went to proceed with booking online, I got as far as entering all of our traveler info and credit card info, and then after the processing screen came up, I got an error message saying that it couldn't complete the reservation.
:badpc:
I'm wondering if I should call AAA directly, or if listing the less expensive views as available is just a bait and switch tactic. Any ideas?

this happened to me a few weeks ago. i was trying to get a room at the last minute for easter week and nothing was available through cro. i tried the aaa site and they had car. beach. i was so excited and immediately tried to book it but the same message keep appearing. as soon as it got to the confirmation part it would say there was an error or something. well i called aaa and they said it was booked up and not available. i guess their website isn't reliable with the hotels it says are available.

Hi dreamsofdisney :)

I tried checking rates on the AAA site after we talked about it on the other thread. It shows the rate at just about every resort but when I went through and tried to book every single moderate and a couple of values, and every category but king room - I got the "not available" thing every time. This matches what CRO has told me. It's a pain you have to go through the whole process of putting in your cc to find out there's no availability.

Anyway I came the conclusion that the AAA website initially is only showing the rate and doesn't know anything about actual availability until a booking is actually attempted - bummer. I would say that if you call Disney you'll find the less expensive rooms are not available at all now. Sorry.
