I got a phone call from my AAA agent today regarding 2007 packages :yay: I booked room only back in February for May 2007. As per Disney's suggestion at that point she checked back today regarding the package rates.

She was told by Disney that the 2007 package rates would be available either Monday July 3 or Wednesday July 5 :woohoo: :cool1: :woohoo: She is going to try to call them back Monday and if they are not out she will be calling them back Wednesday.

I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL NEXT WEEK :hyper: :bitelip: :hyper: :bitelip:

AWESOME~~ I hope hope hope that they gave your TA the correct info!! I can not wait myself either!!! :thumbsup2

Boy, I hope this is the "moment" we've all been waiting for!!! I have my fingers and toes crossed.
I just emailed my AAA agent to see what if anything she knows about this. She's home now so I'll have to wait until morning for a reply.

Thanks BankBunny for the head's up!!! :thumbsup2

My AAA agent is off today so I've been unable to get in touch with her. Has anyone else contacted their agent for more info? Curious minds want to know!!! :p

Thanks!

Not to be the downer here but when I called yesterday for a client and asked they told me that the prices would not be available until at least August. Now we know how DIsney works though! Never the same answer twice! IF they come out next week that will be great!! I want to start planning my own trip along with my clients! :cool1:

Just talked to mine today too. I made final payment on my free dining trip in August!

Anyway, she said they just got an email this morning that said AAA rates would be out mid August for 2007.

I figured it was too good to be true.
My agent said she had a back log of clients (with me being more trouble than any of them) wanting to book a package so she was getting a little aggrevated with WDTC because people want answers.

Package rates for 2007 will be out mid-August. You can book a "basic" package with no tickets now. This will hold the availability and can easily be converted to a Magic Your Way Package when rates are released. As opposed to a room only reservation that would have to be cancelled and rebooked.

The deposit for a basic package is $200 and can be applied to the MYW Package.

Received an email from my AAA agent today, also saying our "basic" package has been booked. She said Disney will notify her as soon as the other package options (I'm interpreting that as tickets) are available. Right now, I don't care - I'm just happy to have the place and the dates we wanted.

The most important "other" options we are waiting to add are tickets and the dining plan!!!
I'm with you MeggerasMa, I'm just glad to book even the "basic" package. My agent says she's still hearing from WDTC that it will be the end of August before we can book the complete package.

OK so I just got off the phone with my AAA agent and here's the deal with packages. I could change my room only to a basic package today, but am not able to do any add ons (park hopper, dining plan, etc) yet. They told her I could switc to the basic package now and then make any adjustments in about 2 weeks. I figured I would just wait until I can change everything at one time. My thinking is that the less changes the better. Oh well, I guess it's a couple of more weeks of torture. I just wish they would have been more specific with my agent when she called last week.

I am sorta new to all this as well...I am just wondering if the saving are worth it to get a AAA membership or just to wait until August to see what Disney comes up with? Looking for your input. Thanks.

Let me put it this way, membership was about $60 and we saved over $20 a night at CSR last year. We booked a room only deal directly with Disney. If we had booked a package deal, we could have received the other perks, like the discount card and the AAA parking pass. We actually had a couple of DIS'ers that were kind enough to pass those perks along to us and we in turn passed them along to others also. We saved a ton at purchases at WOD at DTD!

We also had two other hotels that we stayed at during our vacation outside of WDW, because we visited with family in FL, before we arrived at WDW. We saved over $50 a night at one of the hotels and over $25 a night at the other. Basically, the room savings will make it worth the purchase. There are other AAA discounts that can be used at home and when you travel to other destinations.

Oh, and don't forget the traditional services, like auto roadside assistance! AAA is worth every penny! Maggie
