~A XMAS STORY~decorations, crowds, pixies..AND A BLOODY NOSE~ACTUAL UPDATE 11/9 p190

Poor Luke. I am glad it wasn't more serious. I am really looking forward to your next update.

yeah, me too. it was bad but it could've been a lot worse!

Poor Luke - that had to hurt! Glad to hear Disney handled it so well - and good for them for pushing on! Those ornaments are all so cute - I love the set of Mickey heads - I may have to pick some up if they still have them.

it ended up okay but at the time it seemed really bad. and i'm so glad disney went above and beyond - it made the whole situation easier to deal with.

Only at Disney would they apologize and be so attentive to something that just happens sometimes! Poor Luke, but it was so nice of them to try to make some magic for them all!

i know! anna was saying how she kept thinking that she wasn't going to sue them or anything.....he fell....little boys do that!

I feel so bad about poor Luke's nose and mouth.:sad2: He really fell hard, and he was having so much fun! I'm glad you were all able to keep enjoying the night. Love the ornaments:thumbsup2

i felt so bad for him too! he looked so pitiful. i think he had fun but of course it did kind of damper the evening for him.

Only Disney would offer such amazing service like that!! I can't imagine anywhere else where EMT's can be there by your side in 5 minutes or less, except maybe at a ball game.

So happy they chose to stay though, and that it didn't mess up the magic too much!

Great party pix!!

it was amazing how great they were. it stunk that it happened but i think it was handled as well as it could've been and i think he still enjoyed what was left of the night.

Hi Dawn! I am enjoying your trip report! So nice to hear Luke still enjoyed the eveing after a horrible fall.

We had a change of plans and decided to go to disney this december for the holidays! I am enjoying looking forward to my trip by reading about yours. thanks again for sharing! :goodvibes

hey, lauren! cool that you'll get to go during the holidays....you'll love it! where are you staying? PM me with any questions. i'd love to help!

Poor Luke! He's a tough little guy though. I hope he was able to have a good time for the rest of the night, despite the accident.

he was a tough little guy that night for sure!

Poor Luke-Man! That is so sad. But he's a brave little guy for wanting to stay and finish the night. That's awesome that the CMs and Management handled it all so well though!! Disney really is one-of-a-kind! :goodvibes Those ornaments are adorable!!! So cute! :thumbsup2

i was impressed by how tough he was. disney made the situation so much better - it could've made the night a complete disaster but they helped so much to make it all work out okay.

Poor Luke. I'm glad he didn't break anything. I do not handle my children getting hurt very well, so I feel for Anna. It sounds like they all had some more fun after the accident. Your ornaments are pretty. We got an Alice one ourselves. I wish I had gotten more than I did because they were half price when we were there as well.

me too! well, i probably went a little crazy with the ornaments but i couldn't pass up half price!

Reading the story made me think "oh, poor luke!" but seeing the picture of that poor swollen lip brought tears to this momma's eyes! :sad1: So nice to hear that the CM's were so attentive and generous! Can't wait for the fireworks and parade :woohoo:

awww....you're so sweet! the CMs were so awesome. anna was crushed to see him hurt, especially at disney, but he was a tough little dude!

Oh, poor Luke! That lip looks awful! Glad nothing was broken!

I liked the ornaments you got. Love, love, love the Dumbo one! So cute! I should have looked a little closer at the ornaments while we were there. Not that we need any....I already have enough for probably 3 or 4 trees!

Can't wait for fireworks pictures!

yeah, me too! i needed some ornaments so i was all about stocking up with the great price. :goodvibes

Aww, poor Luke!! I was thinking the other day that we still hadn't gotten to the bloody nose part of your TR title so I knew it had to be coming up soon! Glad to see he's alright though and that Disney did a good job of handling it all :thumbsup2

I'm so excited to get pictures with all the characters in their Christmas gear! And try some of that yummy, delicious hot chocolate too of course :goodvibes

yeah, it was so sad seeing him like that but he's a tough little guy. and disney just rocks for handling it so well. you will love the hot chocolate....it was so good!

The story about Luke brought instant tears to my eyes! And it made me want to give Anna a hug. I am not looking forward to my little guy's first major injury, so I can imagine how she was feeling through the whole thing.

You found some great ornaments! My favorite is the castle that lights up.

i know....so sad! he was all right though...he's tough!

Poor Luke! That looks painfull!

I love the Dumbo ornament!

I'm glad you got some of the hot chocolate.:thumbsup2

i know....i felt so bad for him! oh, don't think i even thought about not getting some of that hot chocolate! i'm amazed i got any sleep that night with all the sugar in my system.

so thats where the bloody nose in the title comes in, i thought it was something that ray did on the trip and got a bloody nose...sorry it was the little man who it happened too.

yeah, i know....i felt bad that it was the kid that had to suffer! i'm sure any of us would have gladly taken that bloody nose and lip for him that night.

Happy Belated Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!

Great update! So sorry about Luke, poor guy!!! How wonderful Disney was about it though!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait for more!

thanks! disney was so great that night - i'm sure it happens a lot and they are pros at it by now!

OK...I have been lurking on your thread longer than I care to admit...there, I've said it. It's actually kind of creepy when you think about it.

I've really enjoyed reading your report (Disney subjects and non-Disney subjects...the Killers rock, by the way). I've managed to do all of my reading without actually posting until now. Poor Luke, I am just heartbroken that he's the one who got the bloody nose, and such a bad one too! That's not to say that I would have enjoyed any of your other group getting one :lmao:...I was just really holding out hope that it wasn't the little man. Geez.

Well, I've broken my silence now. I love checking in on your report. :flower3:

glad you came out of lurkdom and said hi! :goodvibes like i said to dan above...i'm sure any of us would've taken that bloody nose for luke that night. he looked so pitiful! but he's a tough dude.

Poor little Luke it looks like he really did go down hard, sounds as though he was very well cared for though!

Love all your ornaments and great they were half price :thumbsup2

he did go down hard, but disney did such a good job handling it!

Thank God Luke didn't break his nose! Poor little guy. Macey fell like that lat summer and ended up with five stitches. I understand about Anna losing it. I think I gave myself a panic attack.

All of your ornaments are just adorable. I am hoping to find some cute ones when I go. I love the Mickey heads.

i know....it looked broken to me but they said it wasn't, thank goodness! poor macey! i hope it healed up okay. there are ornaments EVERYWHERE during the holidays so you won't have a problem finding any!

hey, everyone! sorry i've been so MIA lately. work has been CRAZY and it's just going to get worse because my boss is having a c-section on monday so i'm having to fill in for her for awhile (which i'm gladly doing so she can play full-time mommy and enjoy her new little one!). so please forgive me if i'm not on top of all things disboards-related for awhile.

in other news, ray and i are going to savannah/tybee island for five days in october. i can't wait! we got a great deal on a condo 2 blocks from the beach. i NEED some beach time, and i love it in the fall because it's not so hot. we even get to take the boys with us because the condo is pet friendly!

also, we made a MAJOR purchase yesterday. we got a new camera!!! :yay: we've been playing with idea of getting a really nice one because i love playing with photography and of course if we get pregnant we'll want a good one for baby pictures. so we decided to go ahead and do it because the nicer cameras are soooooooo detailed, i'll need all the time i can get to learn how to use it! so we went to best buy and got a great deal....a $650 sony digital SLR camera, a $250 75-300mm lens, a $69 extra battery and a $30 carrying case all for $750!!!! we couldn't pass that up!

here's the camera i got (picture from the internet site).....

we went out to a local park today so we could play with the camera a little bit. i am VERY new at all this and i'm just learning and i have a LONG ways to go, but i wanted to show you some of the shots i got which i love. ray was my model...although he didn't know it most of the time because the lens zooms in from FAR away and he had no idea!

Great Camera! Great TR! (poor Luke:love2:) oh and how is the new car? Is it good on gas? I just looked at the CRV again yesterday and DH said he though tthe gas mileage was better?:confused3

thanks! it's GREAT on gas. it gets 26-28 mph, which is awesome for a small SUV.

Congrats on the new camera!!!!!!

thanks!

I love the new camera....I would love to get a "nicer" one. Not in the budget yet. I thought the grasshopper picture turned out great. For just getting the camera I thought your pictures were really crisp and clear. Our Point and shoot is pretty good. I loved taking up close pictures of my DD's feet, hands, eyes and forhead. They turned out great so yours will be incredible. You'll have to practice on Margot.

update time! sorry it took me so long.

it's time for fireworks! as some of you may remember from waaaaaay back on our first day at epcot, i had discovered a new setting on my little point and shoot camera (i can say that now that i have a SLR :lmao:) that i was so excited to use with my tripod during the christmas party fireworks. :yay:

i took LOTS of pictures. these aren't even half of them. but i'm only showing you the ones that turned out the best.

by the way, anna, chris and luke didn't make it to meet us for the fireworks. i figured they were probably riding stuff and i didn't want to bug them since they were recovering from all the drama from earlier. they did see the fireworks but watched them from the bridge to liberty square.

i took a couple of test shots of the castle.....

i LOVED this part....the castle turned green and they put lights up on each side at an angle and made it look like a christmas tree and played, "o christmas tree." they even shot off a firework that looked like a star on top!

plus i don't know that you've seen the video and i'll post that too....it will get you excited for your trip! :yay: winter weather in florida is so crazy. i hope it's not hot for you this year. but i also hope it's not as cold as it was for us at DHS....that was crazy!

Yea....I don't necessarily want to be walking around in my down jacket :rotfl:!

I may not watch the video....we'll see...sometimes I don't want to see (and hear) all the details. Might have to save it for the 'real' thing!!

and i love it in the fall because it's not so hot.

I'm with ya...it's been very pretty....but today was stinkin' HOT!!! I came back inside about 3-4 times. I can't stand feeling like I'm being burnt to a crisp :scared1:

That is AWESOME!!!!!

i can't wait to try this thing in disney......in 16 MONTHS!!!! :rotfl2:

Yea, you will have to figure out the low lighting, christmas lights type setting. I'm sure it will take some awesome pictures of the castle :yay:.

I got some great pics of the sunset today....I'm sure you'll see them soon :upsidedow

Honestly I've got a camera that I have NO idea really what it can and WILL do

**Sorry I butted-in :rotfl:....I have GOT TO GET A TRIPOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't believe I haven't had one before :headache:...and to bad we can't see how well my castle/fireworks pics would have come out at MNSSHP :headache: :headache: :sad1: :headache: :sad1: :headache: :sad1: :headache: :sad1: :headache: :headache:

of course i have video of the ENTIRE show! it was so great.....i couldn't let you guys miss it! ;)

during this first part ray was sitting on the ground and had to get up when the fireworks started. there was a lady standing next to me who i told when she came over that my husband would probably want to stand where she was standing when they started. i was very nice about it. she seemed okay with that and said she just wanted to lean against the railing for a few minutes. we even had a nice conversation about how great disney was at christmas. so when he got up when they started she kind of huffed and walked away. you hear me saying, "i feel bad for her," and then ray goes, "i'm sorry. i don't!" i did feel bad but i had warned her. oh, well! :confused3

there goes tink!

my FAVORITE part! in the beginning it's like they're lighting up a tree. then watch for the star!

i love the finale when they start shooting fireworks from all around the park. gives me goose bumps!

anna took some cool pictures from where she was standing too....

i really loved these fireworks. honestly the best fireworks i've ever seen at disney are the pirate and princess fireworks, followed by the MNSSHP fireworks. but these were right behind those. i can't really say i have a LEAST favorite....i love them all!

up next.....celebrate the season show in front of the castle!

Wow, your camera took some great photos. What I really like is how great the castle looks, very clear.

Great fireworks pictures! Do you have a little tripod? If not, what did you do with it while you were walking around? We have a tripod, but I've never wanted to haul it along.

OMG I just got chills looking at those pictures! The fireworks are amazingggg :cloud9: You did a really good job of capturing them :)

Great deal on the new camera! That grasshopper picture is so sharp and looks great!

i know....those pictures of the dance party are just so fun! i loved the christmas donald piece i got.....it's so cute! yeah, i hope to take margot one day. brett said that audrey (his mom/my stepmom) is wanting to take a bunch of us in a couple of years and pay for everyone's park tickets. we'll see!

I hope that works out for you. That will be a lot of fun!
