~A XMAS STORY~decorations, crowds, pixies..AND A BLOODY NOSE~ACTUAL UPDATE 11/9 p190

I LOVE the GF!!! It's where I want to stay, someday. That's great that you took some random guys picture! I love people like that! :rotfl: I had someone ask me at work today, how to get upstairs. After I told them the real answer, I then told them that a beam of light would come down from the ceiling and Scotty would be waiting for them on the second floor. It's just such a nice change from a lot of crabby people you come in contact with at Disney. Let's have fun people! (Like that crabby old lady in the wheelchair beeping her way through the mob of people on mainstreet)
How exciting that you got to meet Scott! My luck, I would be down there and then not be observant enough to recognize a DISer.

Another fantastic update! Love all the pictures as usual! Don't we wish every place got all decorated like WDW at Christmas!

I wish that gingerbread house pic on my screen could be scratch n' sniff.
I wish I were there to enjoy all of it.

The tree is so huge, it must be a brilliant sight! So pretty.

I havn't been to GF since I was a kid, I plan to check it out this trip when we eat at 1900 Park Fare. Can't wait!

I laughed at the pic of Chris hugging "imaginary" Luke....:rotfl:
They are a fun family.

One day I will have a DIS meet. :goodvibes

I love the GF pictures!!!!!!

I also wish the pic of the gingerbread could be scratch n sniff!!! :rotfl2:

Hi. Love your GF and Poly pictures. We stayed at the GF in Dec 2007 and we spent sooo much time sitting in they lobby enjoying the tree, gingerbread house, and decorations! Can't wait to hear about your Kona dinner, we've gone to the Kona tons of times for breakfast but not dinner.

I just got all caught up again and loved all the pictures! The resort decorations are gorgeous :goodvibes: And how funny that you ran into Scott! Looking forward to more :thumbsup2

Okay guys, really, don't you think we Disers take enough abuse, ribbing, kidding, teasing already from our non-Disney friends???

It's not going to help us out at all for them to catch us sniffing our computer screens!!!

CanadianWDWfan - I hear there's going to be a big meet at the bowling pin pool someday. ;) You need to get all of your northern friends and come on down for that.

:rotfl::lmao:

The 'ski slope' cracks me up!!!

Little did he know he would be Dis'ing later!!!

That Tiki bar is AWESOME!!!!!

I really don't think you told me you met Scott!!!!! You keep good secrets.....HOW COOL!!! :upsidedow

Hi! Just jumping into your TR a little late! :goodvibes We always have to do the loop on the monorail and visit all of those hotels. The GF is usually where we just sit in the lobby and soak it all in. I love when the band is playing on the second floor and the music is drifting down... It's so great. I think the Christmas season just makes it that much more special.

We havent even gone on our first trip yet and I already told Mike that I want to go at Christmas time. The pictures are beautiful! The GF looks so pretty but I agree with you I think it is too fancy for me to stay at.

Can't wait for the Kona update.

All caught up on your report now too! Sorry you felt so sick that day - that stinks! How cool to meet a Diser and recognize them too!

How fun to meet ScottNY! That gingerbread house looks amazing! I love the tree pic - Chris with "pretend Luke" is so funny!:rotfl2: I can tell Chris and Anna are so fun! I can't wait to hear about pineapple envy!:goodvibes

:daisy: HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL YOU MOMMIES OUT THERE! :daisy:

be you a mommy to a person, furbabies or even a plant, you are important to someone and i hope they show you their appreciation for you today! well, except for the plant. not really sure how a plant can show its appreciation. :lmao:

You ladies and your fabulous trip reports inspired me - I started a pre-trip report :) See my siggy.

Happy Mothers day to all. Just seeing the pictures of the GF makes me excited to be leaving for the YC this Sat 5/16. We are staying 1 week, me, DH, 2 boys and 1 girl (12,10,7). Anyway have a great trip to NYC. My DH grew up right outside of there in Northern NJ. If you need any info about the city, send a pm.

I've had a little more luck with kids than plants. Plants know that my house is a mortuary for greenery. I could be imagining, but I really do think I've seen vines clinging to the doorways to keep from coming in here!!! ;)

I hope you guys had a great day down there in Georgia!

Great update and pics.

I loved that ginger bread house. It was so nice and smelled so good in there.

It was great meeting all of you too. I was shocked I ran into you there.

That darn wheelchair. Got me in a not so nice place. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

We do eat fast and he hated the meal so he hardly ate.

thanks! it was so cool running into you at kona. sometimes the unplanned meets are the best ones! ;) sorry about that wheelchair....OUCH! and sorry biff hated the meal. i love kona and we go there every trip. maybe he just had an off meal. plus i think you said the server was an idiot.

The Grand Floridian and the Polynesian are so beautiful with all of their Christmas decorations. The gingerbread houses are great -- I can almost smell them (gingerbread is my favorite Christmas scent)!

Too cool that you were able to meet Scott and Biff!

all that stuff smelled soooooo good! and biff and scott were so nice. i'm really glad we saw them!

I like to visit the Grand Floridian, because it is beautiful, especially at Christmas, but I don't care anything about staying there. It's a little above my classiness, which is not much. :) We have a goal to stay at all the resorts for at least one night, though, so I suspect there will be a time when I will have to act very sophisticated for one night so that they'll let me stay there!

Your pictures at Poly make me easily transport myself to be walking through there. I can hear the sounds of the people and the water...I think that is such a pretty lobby. I definitely am going to stay there someday, and hopefully for more than one night. We'll be back there for another visit at the end of this year. I wish I could capture the feel as well as the sights in pictures. Maybe I will video instead, because there's just something about that place that I really like.

That's crazy that you ran into Scott accidentally. The Dis gods were smiling upon you!

that's a mighty lofty goal but i think you guys can do it! the resorts i want to stay at that i haven't yet in no particular order are WL, the poly, AKL, BWI and CSR. maybe one day! i totally agree about the poly. such a serene, beautiful place! the disgods were definitely smiling on me that day. i wish someone could've been recording when we saw each other - i'm sure it was pretty funny!

Disney is so beautiful at the holidays. I love the pictures from the resorts, we didn't get to visit them when we were there over Thanksgiving so it is nice to see the photos.

i'm glad you enjoyed the resort pics! they were so pretty decorated for the holidays.

very cool you got to meet scott, we almost meet him at the airport but we got dropped off on the wrong side of the airport so it was not to be on that trip.

maybe another time! it was funny because we didn't plan it - it was totally random!

Okay you're going to laugh at me..but I think that all the resorts on the monorail have their own smell. The GF's smell is my favorite though. And I just love when you walk into the lobby from the monorail and you can hear the band playing. :cloud9: When we took my grandparents there, we had to stay a little while because they loved sitting in the lobby to listen to them. We come all the way to WDW and they love the band in a resort! Go figure.

i can see the thing about the smells. my grandparents would totally love to sit in that lobby too!
