A WONDERful way to celebrate Independence Day! - Disney Wonder July 1, 2013

We are in the early dining as we have a 5 and 7 yr old. Btw we are from Paradise Valley, Arizona.

Back to these Fish Extenders....

Does everyone give them out at once? Do we put out names on gifts to see who the sender is? Size kinda limited on the size of our door pouches?

Some pick a particular day and hand all of them out others hand out a few a day. In the past I've kept things down to the size that would fit into the average fish extender.

A couple of planning updates for those not on the Facebook group:

I think DH and I found a sure bet for lunch on our "day on our own" in Juneau! http://www.kingcrabshack.com/. Thanks, DISBoarders, for the recommend.

Additionally, since we'll have some time to explore Ketchikan on our own, I found a nifty walking tour map that's available there, but also uploaded to the Internet. Supposedly you can walk to all the sights over the course of about 2-2.5 hours.

As for being able to get my vacation geek on here...even DH sometimes can't take my obsessive planning. Thank goodness for all of you! ;)

Cool! That walking tour looks fun

In the past, I've picked a small chunk of one of our sea days, or another time that's convenient, and handed ours out all at once. Others sometimes like to think of multiple little gifts that they can distribute throughout the week. It's all what you make of it.

Yes, I usually label ours gifts to everyone know who they're from.

And yes, make sure your gifts will fit in the pouches! :)

No. I am going on July 22 but am n obsessive planner and lurker! Your group looks like fun though! So, as you all post live stream, I will be taking notes!

Welcome lurker friend! There are a lot of experienced cruisers on this one so make sure that you ask any questions. I am so jazzed about this cruise as I am sure you are about yours.

Welcome, I know that I have learned a lot from reading everyones post. This is our 2nd cruise and the first time we have been involved on the DIS and I am excited to meet everyone in person. So ask if you need anything and lurk away. ;-)

Ha! Just watched the top chef episode tat was filmed there. Crab looks unreal. Do, so far our biggest trip disappointment is that our day in Juneau might be too packed to fit that in! Weather remitting we are doing heli-sled dog in am and Harv and marv right after for whale watch. Hrv and marv said they'd get us back o the ocknfir 3 3:30 and the ship leaves at 4:30. Should we risk it??? That us one serious crab!

Steve - I think this was in reference to my earlier post about Tracy's (Extremely Yummy Features on Top Chef) Crab Shack. :)

I wouldn't be too sad that you will miss the crab, mea - being able to fit in and afford both the helipcopter/dog sledding excursion *and* whale watching is pretty sweet! My only concern for you would be that you are able to get lunch *somewhere* on your day in Juneau. Will there be food available on the Harv and Marv excursion? Will you be able to pack food and bring it with you? Two scheduled excursions in one day sounds really, really jam-packed to me. Of course, we get in really early in the AM, so if you're off the ship at 7 for either excursion I guess you'll be OK.

It is jammed packed. We are going with coastal helicopters and Harv and marv is actually picking us up at their location. O no time for lunch! I am planning on packing lunch and leaving it in a backpack at coastal. And as for Tracey's, I definitely won't ba able to afford it! Looks like lunch there for the seven of us would literally cost the same as the whale watch! no complaints at ll but boy does that place look good!

OK - As long as you have a plan! Enjoy the helicopter and dog sledding...I'm sure it will be terrific!!

I remember that conversation now. I'm hoping that we'll be able to find crab somewhere. Me and my daughter go crazy over the stuff!

Just checked on our cruise. Availability is tightening up! The pricing structure just jumped upto another teir. With 4.5 months to go there seems to be a smattering of inside and oceanview cabins remaining. With still some verandah opportunities (of course at the prices that they've jumped to I wonder if they'll sell!) Most of the availability seems to be in the 5B category (although I can't determine what that number might be) but the other verandah categories showing only about 30 cabins remaining. I'm thinking a goodly amount of kids on this sailing. Because there's a lot of cabins available for 2 adults but when I add 2 children the amount of cabins dwindles to just a few.

Just a bit of trivia for any who care.

Since it takes me a while to drum up these numbers I usually only check once every couple of weeks. If I get a chance I'll look at that sailing.

You should be able to search "a wonderful way to celebrate independence day"

I think it is a closed group so one of us may have to invite you. PM someone with your info and I'm sure we'd oblige.

I'm on the PMing! :)

PS - Dear verandah rooms, please don't sell so that those of us who refuse to pay for a verandah might be granted some pixie dust ;)
