A Wonderful SSR Pixie Dust Moment

Greetings!

We just got back from 6 nights at SSR (and the MH). I want to put all of the comments - pro and con - aside for a moment and share one little smile-inducing moment.


My wife and I were at the High Rock Spring pool, and she decided she'd like an ice-cream drink (it was HOT and HUMID last week). She went over to the bar, but came back empty-handed; they didn't have any chocolate syrup for the drink she wanted. No problem - unlike some, we're easy-going folks. Anyway, about 10 minutes later a CM came over to us and told my wife that he'd just ran and got some Hershey's syrup and would she like her drink now?

I know that some may say "Well, they should have had it in the first place"; that CM could have just said "Sorry", and let it go at that. But to me, the fact that he not only ran and got the syrup, but came over to tell us about it - that's the 'above and beyond' that makes Disney so special.

PS Yes, we did give mgmt the CM's name with our enthusiastic comments.

Great story. Thanks for sharing it! We really found that "can do" prevailing during our stay at SSR. They knew that every detail wasn't yet in place; but we found that the CMs went out of their way to make things happen whenever possible. Especially at Artist's Palette and the Turf Club.

So, can we assume that there's no "buyer's remorse" in the Doctor T household? :p
 
Sounds great Dr. T. , but I am missing something. Did she get the drink? What was it and was it good?

Cool story! TFS. Stellar customer service is one reason we keep choosing to spend our $$$ at WDW over and over and over:D
 
It is stories like that that reaffirm my belief that the only place I want to travel is WDW!

It makes SSR stand out from the rest. I think you may see much more of that behavior over there. There was nothing special about that situation, that is what should happen at a resort that is run right. It is good to hear, that one of the DVC resorts is on the ball.:D

I like that you accented the positive side of the situation and not the negative.

I would agree with everyone else when they say this is what Disney is all about

Disney Magic is great!! That is what keeps us coming back.

P.S. - We are Single Digit Dancing :cool1:
 
What a wondeful story and a way to make your day!

I remember reading other reports about how the SSR staff really seems to be bending over backwards to please. I'd much rather be in a place that doesn't have chocolate (at first ;) ) but does have the wonderful spirit that makes us keep coming back.
 
Glad you had such a wonderful trip! I'm dying to get the full trip report! We're leaving at 0300 Saturday to start our drive to WDW so hope to have lots of smile inducing moments as well:)
