A Wigdout trip report, DISmeets, Flashing Jelly Rings and Manpris, Oh MY!

Great last post WigD!!!! Loved all the goodies for Harper and of course the decals!! I love mine

Hope to make it to Target today -- busy cleaning up after last night -- DS7 came down with something yesterday... awoke with 101 temp rose to 103.3 and stayed there... cough runny nose, glassy eyes = sick! So he was eating freezer pops on the couch last night, but after a dose of motrin he headed out to trick-or-treat on our block, then we came back and he watched Nightmare before Christmas... at least the sun is out today -- no school tomorrow so he will get a little rest.

I hope you found your other stocking??

Looking forward to your final thoughts on this TR!! I too am amazed it is in 49 days!!!!

I was wide awake at 6:00 thinking less than 50 days!
Haven't given up on the search for the last stocking. Most of the Targets we went to didn't even have Christmas out.
I know that glassy eyed look, it's not a good sign at all. I'm glad he perked up enough to have a little Halloween fun.

Success!!! I found some great stocking stuffers, the tins, the little books, and pens, and mini-coloring books.... the shopping list tablet for me I grabbed a few other items, which I will share in photos on my PTR... OH this is getting me so excited! I didn't see Minnie stocking at my store??? I wonder if they ran out already or if they didn't put them out... I hope you find it! At least they have them on line..

If you decide to buy Chocolate in Germany, I would recommend the Milka Creme bars, they are wonderful! Cadbury bars in England are good too!
I'm thinking we will just do Christmas Stockings on our trip. I'll have more for Harper and Baylor at home, but the trip is basically the gift for the older kids. Hop on over to the PTR, this one is going to run out of steam fairly soon.

Some final thoughts...

Split stay.
I'll officially say that I'm not a fan of the split stay. BUT... it did buy us a couple of extra days since we used developer points at SSR. I just felt that we couldn't settle in, because we weren't going to be there for very long so we lived out of suitcases. So if it means more time, then I'd do it again. All in all though I think ....
Moving is time consuming....

Length of stay.

I loved the 14 day stay. We were able to spend some time relaxing. We never do this on our usual 5 night trip.

Resort.

This was our third stay at SSR and it was great, but, we loved the Beach Club! The location can't be beat and SAB was awesome!

Dining.

We had some great meals. HBD, Le Cellier, Chefs, 50's PT, R&C, and LTT (lunch) rank among my favorites.
Citricos, probably not again.

Regrets.
Didn't see Spectro, it was raining the night we planned to go and we mini golfed on the last night we had the chance. We promised Baylor the mini golf and I wish we had done that earlier in the trip.
Didn't get to GF cafe, Boma breakfast, or Cape May breakfast. Should have gone to bed earlier...

Oh well, that's what the next trip is for, right?

I would never have lasted in a studio for that length of trip. The 1br at Beach Club made all the difference.
I probably should have commented on the room size in my last post. Having the 1br and a washer and dryer made all the difference. Although I will take more laundry detergent for our stay in May/June...

Our dates for summer are...
May 30 through June 10 Beach Club Cruise Beach Club
July 4 through July 9 Kidani

We do ten day summer trips and then the in betweens are 5-6 days. I think we will try to add 1-2 days to this coming summer trip and then cross our fingers for another Thanksgiving trip next year. Two full weeks would be awesome, but I'm the only one in the group that has that much time off in one swoop.

I'm already thinking of what I'm going to bring to the picnic - BBQ cocktail weiners, potato salad, corn on the cob, some Sister Schubert rolls, a couple of cobblers....

What did you do to get yourself in the teenage doghouse, wigd?

You may have to let us poor value folks come and take a peek of your rockin' awesome Kidani room on the July trip.

We do ten day summer trips and then the in betweens are 5-6 days. I think we will try to add 1-2 days to this coming summer trip and then cross our fingers for another Thanksgiving trip next year. Two full weeks would be awesome, but I'm the only one in the group that has that much time off in one swoop.

I thought the 2 weeks were pretty awesome too, we had never spent so many days there before. I'm hoping for an end of Oct trip next year for F&W and then not sure about Christmas, we might just think Spring Break instead for 2011. I would really love Thanksgiving sometime but it would have to be such a short trip, we can't add any personal days to a holiday in my district.

I'm hungry already....
I think I'll add some bacon wrapped crackers, fried chicken, pasta salad, and brownies.

Well lets just say she gets herself in the middle of things that aren't her business.... and I end up being the one in trouble!

We would be very pleased for you to come and visit us at Kidani, it looks like we are going to be in a studio, but it will be a Savannah view! Maybe we will have some animals outside to look at. I'm going to check and see if we can have pool guests too. I think the girls would love that pool from what I hear.

Wigd - I loved your TR and I am sorry to see it end. I enjoyed reading your final thoughts. You were so fortunate to have a 14 day trip. I am dreaming about a long stay like that in the distant future! And I know it will happen - some day!

Your June dates look pretty great, too. I guess that's the advantage to starting school so early - you in the World by the end of May.

Long trips just take so darn many points, it's almost worth it to move out of the DVC resort and stay value for the weekend. I'm sure that's something we will consider in the future. We are lucky that our cruise falls on the weekend for June.
That is really the best thing about starting school in the middle of August, getting to Disney before the summer crowds.
I'm sure Keeley will get over her drama in time to help us order groceries....

I got in "trouble" in regards to our trip last night.... Doug said to me, what do you mean we are checking in on a Saturday... those are expensive points. So who knows what he is thinking about doing in regards to our trip- grrr! Our switch resort day is supposed to be Thursday when we can book at 7 months...

(Although if we moved it up a tad we could meet up)

I have read that it makes sense to move out of DVC to a value to avoid spending the weekend points. I might just see about the weekend before our July trip at POP...

It really cracks me up though since this is probably the only trip we will not be point poor on. We are just using our 09 points, trying to bank 2010 for 2011 so we can get a 2 Bedroom, perhaps Savanna view for our big blowout trip with my parents.

I am also fighting the urge to just go in a 1 bedroom... but studios are so cheap and we will be sized out of a studio once Luke is 3.

I should be happy though, it's just the two of us. I think we will be able to stand each other in one room, but I love having the washer/dryer and the full fridge in the kitchen...
Let's just say the 1br totally spoils you!
