A Wigdout trip report, DISmeets, Flashing Jelly Rings and Manpris, Oh MY!

I watch The Simpsons all the time! In fact we just bought another season of it last weekend.
My oldest watches it too and he's almost 30! So I know that when you are recuperating if you aren't DISing you are watching old Bart.:thumbsup2

:lmao: Marc and I have such different taste in shows that it is one of the few that we both actually enjoy watching. He can only take so much of my chicky dramas and I can't stand his horror/ghost shows. :rotfl2: Simpsons are a very good compromise.

I'm glad you found something you can enjoy together. My Marc likes true crime, but we compromise with Law and Order CI and some of the reality shows....

A lovely post! Great MainStreet performance pictures!!!

Say, did you catch the recent buzz about the candlelight Processional?!! A LOT of huppla -- 2 TS credits now, a fixed meal, and the price is $$... more than before, apparently... anyhow, it is all new to me, but I am not sure I am going to do it now, still thinking. Sounds like everyone is in an uproar... I don't even think you can use TIW card for this... A few threads posted... I followed a link from the DDP thread, I believe... Just thought I'd mention since I know you are making plans for it...

Wow, I'll have to go and take a peek at the buzz. If it's terribly expensive we will probably skip it too! I was thinking we would try for Biergarten, that's probably not even possible now.
Thanks for the heads up!
What are you thinking for Christmas Eve?

ahhhh, I heart Main Street!

I can't believe I just said "I heart"....I think my 13 yr old is rubbing off on me.

Do you ever feel sorry for those poor horsies when they are walking down Main Street in that heat??
Or the poor characters in full head gear? Or the cast members in long sleeved shirts? Whew!! I'm roasting just thinking about it.
I hope your week is starting off better than last week. My kids start Wed and Thurs this week. It's time. My youngest, who is Baylor's age, is getting to be such a sass! She needs to go back to school NOW!!!

Well for the record books, I "heart" Main Street too!:cutie:

I do think about the poor horses and characters!:sad2:

My week has started out with another 12 hour day! I keep wondering when we are going to get all of this beginning of the year stuff done.
Sounds like it's time for school at your house, will she be a sass to her teacher?

No, she won't to her teacher. Thank goodness. I just said to DH tonight that I hope I'm not raising a snob, and he said "you are" WHAT????
I just don't want her to be like the girls in that movie Mean Girls! :snooty::snooty::snooty:
You know, the "popular" girls who don't let you sit at their table at lunch or on the sr benches in high school. (I think I need some therapy )
Anyway, we'll see. I talk to her all the time about being a nice person to EVERYONE! Kids are stinky, have I ever said that before??? :confused3

I am sooooooooo with you on this one! I've seen/heard Hannah be not so nice sometimes and I'm on her like white on rice about it. That is just not acceptable behavior.

We just finished our first full week with students. It was a long week, very hard on everyone. I hope next year we start on a Wednesday or Thursday...
I've been going over some lessons today and need to watch a science video before bed. How many do you have in your class this year?

My kids started on the 17th, so we're halfway through our 2nd full week. I agree about the Thursday start. I loved it when we did that! The first full week is absolutely brutal!!

I have 27 little 10-year-old darlings this year in my homeroom. ;) I have 29 in my accelerated Math class and 22 in my Low Average Reading class. We have big numbers all around this year. We've already added a new K teacher and he's hiring for a new 1st grade teacher right now. We've heard rumors that we might add a teacher, but for now they're just rumors.

I'm always relieved to hear that my children know how to act when they are in public in contrast to how they may behave at home.....

I know all too well about the snobbery that goes on, especially with girls, my daughters have been on the giving and receiving end of that. Baylor even complains sometimes that he's excluded at school, but it doesn't seem quite as bad with boys. All we can do is teach and model for them the best we can and hope that they will be kind to others.:goodvibes

I'm the same way, I try to tell them that what goes around comes around....
I love Main Street, thanks for sharing your pictures.

Doesn't Main Steet just give you a happy feeling?

Can't wait for the next update
I'm hoping for a Friday night update!

It was the 17th for us as well, what a long, long week!

Wow 27 is a lot of bodies for a teacher to look after! Is your classroom terribly crowded? I know at our school it isn't unusual for 5th grade to have close to 30 kids.
That just seems like way too many to me!

I don't know how teachers survive!!:worship::worship:

I would end up in the looney bin if I was stuck with 27 10 year olds everyday!

I have to laugh a little at my self, because I'm going back next month to finish my degree to teach high school history.:rotfl:
But I'll take teenagers over grade school any day of the week!

I was watching Big Brother last night and one of the guys was wearing manpris....it made me think of you.:rotfl:

I don't know how she does it either, that seems like a bunch of kids in a room! I only have 20 second graders but sometimes it seems like 40!
Congrats on going back to finish your degree, when do you graduate?
