A Wigdout Spring Break Adventure very short pre-trip report

Great pictures!!! I tried out my new purse today..its not so big..but i'll get over it! Cant wait for more.

Thanks Jillyb for helping this new boy out.....I guess it is pretty obvious now that I know, but when I would come across it....I just couldn't figure it out!! For some reason, I had visions of people coming in and taking over the thread and subbing until the original poster had or found time to come back and UPDATE their thread. I guess I was sort of hoping that Shocker would come in and SUB for Wigd. and let us know all about the rope drop and incident in Norway at Epcot!!! Anyway, thank you for telling me what it was and for doing it in such a "timely" fashion.....it appears it could have been WEEKS before Wigd. got back to HER thread and explained it to me!!!!

Shocker if Wigd. doesn't update by the end of the weekend I say you need to steal her thread and clear your good name or dig a yourself in a little deeper, whichever the case may be???

:lmao::lmao:

You are quite welcome. It's my Southern hospitality shining through. LOL When I first started on here it took me a while to figure out what "subbed" meant too!

I love that bag! And I like the way you have your pins on there. Sitting on the edge of my seat to hear about Norway.

Okay the Remy is too cute! I had heard about it on the boards... but that would be fun!

I am always the designated runner for Soarin' FPs, too! :thumbsup2

Looking forward to what you thought of the Kim Possible adventure!

Lunch looks so good, and Remy is adorable. You might have me rethinking ADRs! :rolleyes1

Loved Remy. The "plant" is a type of lettuce, I think frisee. Onion soup and quiche in France is good. There is a flatbread thing that is very good as well. The lobster bisque is good also.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Remy is SO adorable!! I really hope we get to see him too. I am happy to see that you had your picture with him too, that is my goal. Yayayaya! :thumbsup2

First I am loving all the pictures!!

Well it sounded like a good start to the day, so that's good. When I got caught up in the morning stampede to Soaring I was just glad to be done with it!! I guess that is one thing that we didn't really understand at the first part of our week. We used the next opportunities to get Fast Passes for different rides, instead of rushing to get on one in the early part of the day and getting multiples of certain rides. Then again, being our first visit we didn't really know which would be our favorites until the end of the week. I noticed on our day at HS, that Toy Story and RRC went out of Fast Passes long before TOT, so I wished I had used your strategy that day and gotten mulitiples for RRC and then later in the day gotten them for TOT.

Anyway, I am glad the start to your day at Epcot began nicely. Remy was cute....I bet he had trouble holding them big pens they say to buy to have the Characters autograph with, though...LOL

Your lunch did look, um different......being a CS type of guy, I did notice that even in them there fancy places the water glasses seemed to have NO ice em. Of course it must have indeed been a fine dinning establishment, they put a tornado in place of the ice, or so it seemed in the picture?? Quiche....OK, maybe it's because I am a guy, but it is nice of you to make me feel better about not doing TS meals...you know real men don't do Quiche, so I am already thinking I made the right choice with the QS plan...other than not getting to meet Remy!! Then if I had found sprouts of some sort in my salad, whew it would have been almost too much for this country boy!! It did however look like you were really enjoying your meal (I'm glad you did) and that all of you were having a great time......well you and Baylor anyway.......maybe that was the problem, just maybe Shocker was feeling left out by the time you made it to Norway??

Can't wait to hear how the rest of the day went...........well, to hear why it went that way, at least....LOL I am taking that this was on MONDAY right? We had a Disney MONDAY too, just over at AK. I never knew there were "Monday's" at Disney World, I thought that was just at home?? Maybe we should write to Disney about it.....surely they could sprinkle some Pixie Dust and make Monday's a better day than the kind of Monday's we have at home??? Of course, I am jumping the gun a bit.......but "MELTDOWN" does sound like a Monday sort of thing, even for the ELDERLY!!!

Finally, just one final question for now........how many bags (or suitcases) does it take to get your bags to Disney?? Poor Shocker must not be allowed to bring much with him at all!!!

Poor Shocker must not be allowed to bring much with him at all!!!

If you keep up with the thread you will notice that I am wearing the same clothes in every picture...that is, if she ever posts any pictures of me! :sad2:

I wash out my clothes each night in the sink and use the hair dryer to dry them for the next day. If I am really tired I simply put them on wet the next morning!

After lunch we strolled around the lake to Norway, the standby line for Maelstrom was about 20 minutes so we decided to ride, the wait wasn't bad except for the teenagers that cut in line to be with friends in front of us. :confused3 We exited the ride and headed into the gift shop to visit the troll. There was no one there so Baylor posed for this shot.....
024-4.jpg

I grabbed flat Hayley and posed for this.....

023-4.jpg

Marc grabbed flat Christian, I had the camera ready ...................................
and a family walked right up and crowded us out and started taking pictures, more pictures, more posing, more pictures and then some more pictures all the while we are waiting to finish just one more...............

Well, you will see that there is no picture of Marc and flat Christian here because Marc tends to get upset when people are rude at Disney and he had waited patiently when the crowded us out for a while, then he said that's it we're out of here. Well, I don't like it when that happens, if you are going to go to Disney you just have to expect this behavior, people can be ignorant and I know sometimes they just don't think of others.
So I was a little upset with Marc for letting them get to him!
We walked over to the cart to check in for the Kim Possible adventure and watched another family having a total meltdown. (those moments make me feel a little more normal:goodvibes) Baylor picked up his phone and got his first message and we followed him around Norway.

DCP_1091_edited-1.jpg

There were tons of kids running around Norway with phones and I was still giving Marc the silent treatment so Baylor really just ran the show with this adventure. He finished and put the phone away. He didn't say that he loved it and didn't ask to do another country. We will try it again for sure next trip.......

We headed back to The Land Pavilion for a couple of Soarin" rides, but first stopped off and visited a couple of old friends...

026-4.jpg

Well who wouldn't be in a better mood after a visit with Mickey and Minnie? So we happily continued on our way over to our Soarin' rides...
After Soarin' we made our way back to Germany for a Biergarten dinner. I was really excited to try out the German food! We went through the line and headed back to our table and then noticed that Baylor had only two items on his plate. He said that he wasn't eating anything there. Yikes! We LOVED paying his adult price for that meal. We shared our table with a very nice family from Canada, so we enjoyed visiting with them. We decided to head back to the resort for some pool time but on the way Baylor stopped for a blast of cold air in the African market!

029-4.jpg

On our way out we stopped for the photo pass person.
005-4.jpg

Notice that we are still a day away from Flower and Garden so no topiaries.

We got back to the resort and the guys went for a swim, here are a couple of pictures of the pool area.

Then it was off to bed because we had an early breakfast awaiting us in the morning!

Oh the anticipation of waiting to hear about your experience at Epcot's Rope Drop and Shocker's rude moment is pure torture for me!!! I hope you have a peaceful weekend where you can update your trip report. I mean, I do understand that you want to draggggg it out until your next trip to Disney, but I am fixing to start fussing like Shocker does.......though I don't understand why he does......after all he knows what happened!!!! It's those of us that have been "teased" about it and then left in the dark that have a reason to fuss. I mean we are just waiting and waiting and waiting (can we use Fast Pass to find out???). J/K I will be patient and enjoy all the rampant thoughts that are going through my mind as to what "could" have happened!!

Also, please move my guess on the ADR change pool to 19.....I just feel a few extra changes coming in the Blizzard that was headed your way. I do hope that y'all faired well if the snows made it there and didn't get it too bad and if you did, at least got a snow day out of it!!

P.S. I would ask in chat, but can't ever seem to remember, what is does "subbing" mean on the boards?? I have read it a good bit when people are posting to other's threads, but for the life of me can't figure out what they are saying or meaning??
I'll try not to drag it out tooooo far. It's like jillyb said, subscribing.......:rotfl:
BD when someone is "subbing" that means they're subscribing to the topic so they can keep up with it.
Thanks, jillyb, seems like we have an impatient man on our hands.....:rotfl2:
HAHA poor shocker :(
Yes, I'm mean no, not poor shocker............:lmao:
Wigd we are all witness to this and you have it in writing now. :cool1:
Yes, so it is written so it shall be (as spoken by Yul Brenner).
Thanks Jillyb for helping this new boy out.....I guess it is pretty obvious now that I know, but when I would come across it....I just couldn't figure it out!! Patience man, Patience!:rolleyes1

Wigd,

Love your pictures! You changing your bag, that will so be me!
Baylor is such a cutie. Love the expression on his face with the salad.
Meeting the other DIS chatters must have been a treat. Can't wait to hear more.

Thanks so much for sharing.
We were cracking up about the stems in the salad........and yes the DIS meets were so much fun!:goodvibes Having the right bag for the outfit is soooo important!:thumbsup2
I am ready popcorn:: oh by the way the strange plant is a type of lettus (Spelling?)

It is? We thought is was some sort of mistake........
.;)
Loved, loved the pics. I thought I was bad, but I only take one bag with me..... guess I need to take a lesson from you!! The soup looked luscious and so did dessert....what was it?? Can't wait for more and to hear about Norway. My interest is peaked.
Orifuteroles au chocolat (pastry with ice cream, fruit and chocolate sauce) is the dessert! It was yummy!!:goodvibes More bags is a good thing....;)
Great pictures!!! I tried out my new purse today..its not so big..but i'll get over it! Cant wait for more.
I hope you can get everything you really need in it.
:lmao::lmao:

I love that bag! And I like the way you have your pins on there. Sitting on the edge of my seat to hear about Norway.
I need to get some locking pin backs if I'm going to keep my pins there.... I did get the idea from LL, it's fun to carry pins like that.:cutie:
Okay the Remy is too cute! I had heard about it on the boards... but that would be fun!
Remy was very cute, I'm glad we got to see him!
I am always the designated runner for Soarin' FPs, too! :thumbsup2

Looking forward to what you thought of the Kim Possible adventure!

Lunch looks so good, and Remy is adorable. You might have me rethinking ADRs! :rolleyes1
Lunch was delicious and Remy was very cute! I think Kim Possible would have been much more fun if we hadn't fallen into our funk.....:rolleyes1
Loved Remy. The "plant" is a type of lettuce, I think frisee. Onion soup and quiche in France is good. There is a flatbread thing that is very good as well. The lobster bisque is good also.
Hmmmmm, lettuce? So I've been told.........:rotfl2: I thought about the lobster bisque then decided on the onion soup and it was soooo good!
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Remy is SO adorable!! I really hope we get to see him too. I am happy to see that you had your picture with him too, that is my goal. Yayayaya! :thumbsup2
I hope you get to see him and get your picture taken with too!

You all did very well, especially for a first trip with such big crowds. Next trip you will be a pro!

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2: I thought I smelled something............

I meant to say something about the strange plants in your salads -- whenever those things appear in ours, we always joke about them being weeds.

That's a shame about the rude family in Norway. People can be so oblivious at Disney -- it's like they have blinders on. :sad2:

How long did the Kim Possible Adventure take?

I would love to be able to see the Disney CMs at work in the middle of the night getting all the decorations ready for the Flower and Garden Festival. I think it is amazing they can do that all in one night!

Hi Jackie! (:goodvibes I see you are online right now) You are right, I don't think those folks meant to be rude, the were foreign, maybe So American, and they were probably just wanting to get it all done, plus I can't imagine the cost to travel so far away from home.....
The Kim Possible Adventure didn't take very long, maybe 15-20 minutes..... I think Chelsea and Connor would both need to have the phones though. Since it's only the one holding the phone that can hear the directions and clues.....
We WILL do it on the next trip especially the adventure in China!
With F&G, it is amazing how the park is transformed over night....
Our first two trips were during F&G then we went back on a July trip and I wondered what in the world had happened to all the beautiful topiaries :confused3......... They are incredible and the butterfly garden is really cool at Pixie Hollow, I think it will be even better when all the butterflies come out of their cocoons :woohoo::woohoo:

Good morning, Wigd!!! I wish they extended the Flower and Garden Festival farther into June so we could see it -- we haven't been there during it since April of 1998.

I can't believe how we took it for granted (even though I thought thought they were awesome) until I saw the park without all the pretties! I wish you could get there a week earlier. :goodvibes

Hi Anita, love reading your trippie! We saw the snow fall in your area last night and my husband said "isn't that where your disboard lady lives?" I still don't think he get's it LOL.

Marc grabbed flat Christian, I had the camera ready .................................

So I was a little upset with Marc for letting them get to him!

Let's get this right.....I am almost as big as that troll and I am standing there holding a paper person....What could they possibly think I was doing? My only wish was that I had remembered my conversational Spanish from 40 years ago....

There were tons of kids running around Norway with phones and I was still giving Marc the silent treatment so Baylor really just ran the show with this adventure.

You were giving me the silent treatment? I thought you were reveling in the Disney magic!

Hey, you can't even see my Speedo!! Where is that picture of me on the deck lounge in my Speedo?????

I may have to take over this thread just to be sure things are reported correctly!

We didn't get hit as hard as some and with the sun out today it's quickly melting away!:goodvibes We met up with a DIS board friend at Epcot and she had told me when we were planning out meet that her husband didn't get it either.:confused3 But........let me tell you once we all met up and had a really great conversation, he did get it, and told Marc it was fun to meet and talk to people that share the Disney obsession.

I may have to take over this thread just to be sure things are reported correctly!

No hijacking, but you may post your side of the story after my post!

Is the dessert from Chefs de France - profiteroles? It was very good when we had it.
