I'll edit this and add an actual trip report if I can EVER get a thread started!
I don't believe it! 500th time is the charm, apparently!
Who's involved (you notice I do not say "who went"!)
Me (GeorgiaAristocat), 35, obsessive planner who hasn't been to WDW since 1976 - it's a whole new world!
DH (the Coward), 33, hasn't been to WDW since @ 1988 and then for only a "few hours"
DD (FearlessOne), rocks between being a fairy princess, drama queen and tomboy, not afraid of anything (unless she feels like screaming).
DS (SnuggleBuddy), 15 mos old, umbilical cord is about 1 mm long - total mama's boy, also likes to scream and doesn't require fright to do so.
Nana - keeper of FearlessOne and SnuggleBuddy while Mom and Dad play at the world!
I am in the process of writing an extensive trip report, long and boring to everyone but me, so I thought I would do a simple list report about our week-long trip staying at POFQ Sept. 25 through Oct. 1. My observations:
1. I got to drive south, so we didn't get stopped or a speeding ticket on the way.
2. Our room was very nice, once we were finally given the correct room number.
3. The view of the fireworks from California Grill is breathtaking. Oh, the food's pretty good, too!
4. Soarin' is the best ride in all WDW, hands down.
5. My husband + Mission: Space = bad things and headaches (for everyone).
6. The Animal Kingdom is totally awesome, even if it is a glorified zoo.
7. The Magical Kingdom is, well, magical.
8. Buzz Lightyear is a STUPID ride and I don't think the cannons REALLY work and that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
9. Parents should not take terrified crying children on Splash Mountain (where you WILL get splashed) and force their log-mates to listen to the terrified child cry for the whole trip and then promise the terrified child candy to not squeal to their terrified sibling when it is over so that they (the irresponsible parents) can get their other terrified child to ride.
10. Mickey's Philharmagic is the best 3-D show in all WDW, hands down.
11. When you're expecting Wishes and get the special Halloween fireworks instead, it is a little disappointing, although still a good show.
12. The Tower of Terror is great fun - for those brave enough to ride (the Coward declined. FearlessOne will love it).
13. My husband is apparently smarter than I am (who knew?) as evidenced by the scoreboard at Who Wants to be a Millionaire.
14. The drawing class at MGM is the best interactive experience in WDW, and my picture was better than my husband's, proving that brains aren't everything.
15. You get much larger servings at the food courts than at any counter service in any park. Oh, the food's pretty good, too!
16. Almost every table service meal is big enough to feed two people (if one of those people is me.)
17. Disney doesn't have enough places to buy good coffee, or, for that matter, any coffee.
18. Eating breakfast in the Castle is wonderful and provides the best character interaction in WDW, hands down. Oh, the food's pretty good, too!
19. The food's pretty good at Le Cellier, too.
20. My husband drove home, leaving me to navigate, so naturally we turned the wrong direction leaving WDW. Perhaps I just didn't want to go home?
21. Free Dining was an awesome deal, and will probably induce me to plan an otherwise unscheduled visit in the future if offered again. (Listening, Disney marketing?)
22. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HOW MY CHILDREN REACT TO ALL THE MAGIc!!!
23. I need to get busy planning next year's trip.
The longer versions are in the works, with all the back stories, and so is a dining review. I have already finished about half, and will post them shortly (if anyone's interested. I don't really expect anyone to be, this is really all about me as it is an Amy-O-Centric world.)
TTFN!
Amy
