A Whole New World of a Disney Trip!! Dec '15 PTR update 7/6

Hi :wave2:

A little late to the PTR.... First let me say CONGRATS on your Baby Girl!!! Precious!!! What a blessing! Bet you can't wait until she can do BBB :teeth: I'm sure the grandparents are loving every minute with her. How nice that y'all can experience Disney with your parents. We usually travel to the World with my parents, too....always very special.

Did you decide on a resort, yet??

Happy Planning!
Heather

Thanks for joining in!! I know... I may or may not be secretly thinking about going for her third birthday!!

Good afternoon lovely people of the DISJ I’m not sure what the weather is like where you are, but here, it is miserably hot and humid!!! I know it is going to get worse, but the summer is just beginning!!! Anywhoo… on to Disney news.

We are officially BOOKED!!!!!!!!!! We will be staying at the grand Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa.

upload_2015-7-6_13-14-36.png

We are currently booked with two 1 bedroom villas and hope to have them near or next to each other. Ideally, I would love to get lots and lots of pixie dust and be bumped up to a 2 bedroom of any configuration. Most have said we would rather have the two 1 bedrooms, but it would be nice for my parents to be about to take DP back while DH and I enjoy EMHs one night and not have to worry about how we will get her back:) Whatever may be, we will still have a fantastic trip!! It will be nice to have time as a family of three at Disney World too:)

We stayed at SSR on our last trip in December ‘13. Although we didn’t fall in love immediately, we did grow to like it. The biggest con is that It is just HUGE!!! We prefer OKW because it doesn’t seem as large and doesn’t seem to be as golf oriented. We stayed in the Grandstand and had two 1 bedroom villas then as well.

We were in the Grandstand and I’m thinking of requesting this area again. We were right outside the pool with a parking lot view. It was nice being so close to the Hospitality Area and really nice being the first bus stop. I’m thinking that will be a GREAT perk with DP, especially at night.

Now that we are booked…. I was able to make all of my ADR’s like a normal on-site guest!! Did I get everything I wanted? You will soon find out;)

Yes it is hot and humid! Today it's 93 with 50% humidity. Our feel like temp is 101.

But it won't be this hot when we are at Disney!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! :jumping1:

Can't wait to hear all about those ADRs! :hyper:
Du-duh du-duh du-duh... (insert a sharks fin) they're coming!!!!

This weekend I literally felt like I was melting with the humidity, while playing putt putt!! We are members of Izzac Walton and they have a swimming lake, a fishing lake, and a pool. Well... I don't do lakes unless they are a legit lake and of course the pool is down because the pump is broken:sad::sad::sad:
The weather is one of my favorite parts of Disney in December!!!

One of my favorite things about Disney is the dining. Some may complain about the food quality, but to me the food is superb!! Don’t get me wrong, we have had some less than stellar meals at Disney, but more often than not, they are delicious.

Obtaining ADRs feels like somewhat of a game to me. When the calendar strikes 180 days, it is game on! This trip, not so much. Because nothing had come up in my RCI search at our 180 day mark, I was having to book day by day. This is one reason why we do not stay off property. Fortunately I got a match two days after the 180 day mark and was able to solidify our ADRs!! Let the happy dance(s) commence:cool1:party::dance3:

Without further ado, our current ADRs:

Sunday, December 13 – ‘Ohana 640pm
-New to us

Monday, December 14 – The Crystal Palace 815am
-Haven’t done breakfast in four year but have done dinner

Monday, December 14 – Be Our Guest 220pm
-Our FIRST TIME!!!

Tuesday, December 15 – Chef Mickey’s 1020am*
-Breakfast 4 years ago

Tuesday, December 15 – Kona Café 135pm*
-One of our FAVS!!
I’m not keeping both of these, I just haven’t decided which I want to keep. I will likely keep Kona.

Wednesday, December 16 – The Garden Grill 540pm
-New to us

Thursday, December 17 – Beaches & Cream 110pm
-Can you really go to Disney and not eat here?

Friday, December 18 – Tusker House 940pm
-New to us and so excited about it (unless someone tells me otherwise. I’m really nervous about this one in all honesty.)

Saturday, December 19 - 50s Prime Time Café 115pm
-Never been here but really excited about!

Sunday, December 20 – Trail’s End 925am
-We cannot go to Disney without eating here at least once

We had initially planned on going the week prior to what we are booked and I was having a really hard time getting ADRs. Once I match was made, I started looking at ADR options for the first two days of our trip and found ‘Ohana, Crystal Palace and Be Our Guest were all available. This was the deal maker and sealed the deal for our trip.

Please leave comments with you thoughts on these plans, what you do or don’t like about each place, what you would and/or would not order at them, and for kicks and giggles, what you would replace them with:). I’m really nervous about all of the new places I have, but excited at the same time. The only non-negotiable is breakfast at CP.

Up next… how shall we get there? By boat, by plane, by train?!?!

Of course you're planning another trip! Isn't that what we're supposed to do?! ;) Faith did BBB when she was 4, and it was the perfect age. She was old enough to really talk and understand what was going on, yet young enough to still believe in ALL of the Magic.

Your dinner ressies look GREAT!!! We've done all of them except Garden Grill. My family really, really loves 50s Prime Time. My DH and father like getting into the whole role-playing thing with the wait staff, so it makes for great entertainment. No worries about the Tusker House. I'm assuming you're doing that for the characters? It's fine...nothing super fabulous but nothing super bad, either; it's a good buffet. We like Ohana, also. They have the BEST bread pudding for dessert!!! The Crystal Palace is a good breakfast place to see the characters...or should I say a different set of characters. I totally agree with you about the food at Disney. While some food is great, there are definitely times when it's not.

Happy Planning! :)

I wanted to give you a heads up on your Crystal Palace. Currently Magic Kingdom shows that it is opening that day at 9:00 which would make your adr before the park opens. Sometime in November the hours will change and MK will open at 8:00. That may not be a big deal to you, but I wanted you to know. I made my cousins CRT ADR at 10:00 so they can enjoy the light crowds before breakfast. They will just eat a small breakfast type snack in the condo before they leave.

Looks like you've lined up some great meals for your trip!

Thanks! I found a calendar that showed MK having AM EMH too, so I was prepared for not getting the no one else on main street shot, but we have to have CP as her first meal:cutie:

What a sweet baby! Looking forward to hearing more about your trip.
Thanks!! There is more coming, promise:D

Then I hope you have a wonderful meal. I just didn't want you to get there and be disappointed. But since you already know that won't happen!
