A whole day at DHS?

We actually found ourselves pressed for time last visit, arrived at opening , had 2 sit downs, and stayed till almost 1/2 hour after close. If your just going for the thrill rides maybe it could be a half day, but if you plan on doing those, the shows (IJSS VOYLM and B&B) as well as the AFI and some of the other walk throughs you will in no way be able to do this half day. Half day visit usually skip alot of what I think makes HS special. If your goal is to ride TOT an RR a bunch of times then leave, half day is fine.

Definitely depends on your touring group... We've got preschoolers (all the Disney jr. Stuff) and a Star Wars FANATIC (Jedi Training, numerous trips on Star Tours, and hours in Tattooine traders) in our group, besides everyone liking JOTLM, TSMM, and The Great Movie Ride.

There's also quite a few unique characters (again- depends on your party) - Mike and Sulley, Phineas and Ferb, Mr. Incredible and Frozone.

On our recent trip we needed 2 days to get it all done, and we never even did ToT or RRC!

My alternative plan for DHS is as follows, spread over 2 days to maximise fastpass+ use and quiet times:

1.) Day One Get Fastpass for TSM, ToT and Great Movie Ride

- be at park for rope drop, doing as many big rides as possible.
- do high capacity rides and shows as it gets busy
- leave the park around 1pm and head over to the Florida mall and shop for a good while (we have no shops in the UK) have a meal.
- return to DHS at around 7pm and get in some extra rides while fantasmic is on absorbing the crowds

2.) Day Two Get Fastpass for ToT, Rock N Roller, Star Tours

- Spend the day at Typhoon Lagoon / Blizzard Beach
- Head into DHS around 6pm and do a few more rides
- go to the later showing of fantasmic

I usually spend one or two days at DHS. With young ones you have H & V character meal, the Disney Jr show and all those characters. Even the little mermaid and muppets are must dos. My kids always liked the singing dancing by the hat. Everyone has different objectives to touring. Our last visit we did a half day at Epcot. Did akershus dinner then rode Mexican boat ride and memo saw illuminations and left. My kids are not into Epcot right now so we don't stay there long.

I spend a full day at AK on every trip (and still haven't seen all the animal exhibits!), and usually at least 2 full days at HS, rope drop through closing time.

As others have said, it's all about individual taste. HS is my favorite park, personally. It's the first park I go to anytime I get to WDW.

Don't forget the street performers! They are hilarious! Last time we caught pieces of a couple of them before we rushed off to an attraction. Afterwards I felt like I missed out on something amazing. Next time I promise to slow down and enjoy it all.

Our very first trip we did only 1/2 day thinking there wasn't much for us to do. Our next trip, we spent an entire day there, and this year, we are thinking of making it a 2 day trip. It's actually one of my family's favorites. We've never been to Animal Kingdom, since our past trips were always short. Now that we have a full week, we are going to all of the parks at least once and then will choose which park to revisit. It will probably be MK, since it's the biggest park, but our favorite "must do" options are at HS. My kids have never been to the water parks, so we're looking forward to those as well.

We do multiple full days at HS...if you're in and out in a few hours, you've missed a TON!! We also do at least one full day at AK and then hop for a few hours on other days also.

Because of the new FP system we are planning 2 days there, so we can ride TSM a few times... I am sure we will take breaks and swim and come back later for fantasmic.. But still a very nice park in my opinion!

I can spend the whole day there if I'm in the mood to watch the shows.

But if I don't feel like watching the shows, then it is a 1/2 day park for me.

I easily, and always, spend a full day at Hollywood Studios. I do the same at Animal Kingdom. Of course, I don't go just for headline attractions and I like to re-ride personal favorites, so that extends the day considerably.

We don't often spend "the whole day" at any one park. We tend to open one and close a different one over 2-3day stretches based on RD and fireworks etc.

But if we had a 1 day non-hopper ticket, DH and I could make a full 9am RD -7:30 fantasmic) day of it pretty easily.
3 big shows, a handful of minor shows, 2 major rides, a half dozen moderate and minor rides, over a dozen characters to meet, drawing class, mini museum-type exhibits, mama melrose for a TS meal, we could even enjoy our 'ice cream cookie' sundae-thingy quietly at a table instead of struggling to eat in in the dark F! Theater.

We'd do ToT several times and ST a few (depending on DH's motion sickness). And I suppose if we were really spending the whole day, we'd give the Playhouse Disney show a try (we never have before). As well as actually sit down and watch the whole Jedi training (not sure we've seen more than a minute or 2 at a time in passing)

We love Hollywood Studios, and did a day and half there on our last trip
ToT a few times, RnR, TSMM twice, Jedi Training, Stunt Show, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Animators Class, meeting Wreck It Ralph and a few other characters, Beauty and the Beast show, Great Movie Ride, dining, Fantasmic. We love HS!
