Crystal Palace We had a 9:20 reservation and were seated right away. The line to check in was super long and they did not have any pagers left so you had to listen for your name. Well these seaters whisper your name and do not walk around calling for you which makes all the people cram up by the front entrance and no one can get in or out of the restaurant easily. They should have a loudspeaker to call for people. We normally go at 8:05 but DH did not want to be on a strict schedule this trip so 9:20 it is...it was great coming from the Poly, just a few minutes.
This is a favorite of ours and it did not disappoint us. The food was super fresh and plentiful. Lots of great fresh fruit, watermelon, cantelope, honeydew, grapes, pineapple and the biggest reddest most delicious strawberries with real whipped cream ever.
There was a new bowl of the breakfast lasagne put out just as we got there so I decided to try it again, on previous trips I have not liked it but this one looked so good with all the banana and strawberries on top. Well it was very good this time, a nice custardy bread and fruit filling. The banana bread was great, full of nuts and banana flavor. The raspberry coffee cake was just yellow cake with a very sweet cinnamon sugar crust...nothing special. DH said the cinnamon donuts were good.
The bacon was very smokey, greasy and limp, the sausage links were great (they also had sausage patties). The scrambled eggs were awesome, the roasted red potatoes were great, DH said the potato casserole was very good, the corn beef hash was salty, the biscuits were soft and the gravy was pretty tasty. The croissants were so fresh and flaky I had two! The puffed french toast was going fast and we snagged a few pieces, this is super yummy stuff!
There were many empty tables when we were seated so there wasnt a line for the food, lucky us. No characters on our side of the restaurant. 40 minutes later no characters ever made it to our side, all 4 were still on the other side of the place. Now this is not a big deal for us 2 adults but the families around us were pretty ticked off. Kids were crying and whining, parents were getting nasty with their servers. I mean come on, keep 2 on each side and let them rotate back and forth. By the time we left the family next to us demanded to see the characters because they were done eating and wanted to get out into the park and the line for the food was backed up to the front door...we had a heck of a time getting out of there....but I would still eat here again!
