We were visiting from 5/27 to 6/2/12

Cast of characters:
me (47) teacher
DH(47)
DS(turned 19 during our stay)college student
DD(9)

We were celebrating DS birthday and a rather difficult past year, and looking forward to sunshine and familytime.

We were on the DDP

Our first day after arrival we ate lunch at San Angel Inn at Epcot. We were taken right to our table.

DH had the fish, I had the steak, DS had the fish, DD had tacos.
We all enjoyed our entries, except DD, who is lactose intolerant and often has tummy trouble. Our server was pleasant and it was a great start to our week.

Dinner was at the Polynesian, Captain Cooks. Dh had the flatbread,, which he liked. I had the Ceasar Salad , which was just ok, the tortilla strips on the top tasted stale, DS had the grilled cheese, and said it was "OK" and DD chose not to eat.

Our second day was spent at Magic Kingdom.
Lunch was at Pecos Bill
We had burgers all around, except DS got the one with BBQ sauce and Onion rings. While the food was ok, we had to wait quite a while, the place was packed, and very loud.We decided to pay OOP here to save a credit for later in the week, and I thought it was quite pricey. I don't think we would return here.

Dinner was at Boma(Animal Kingdom Lodge)
Again we were taken right to our table, and after drink orders were taken free to procede to the buffet. Lots of choices, some new things we had never tried, but I can honestly say, it was my least favorite meal. I did try some Zebra Domes which were yummy, and the chicken was also good. The restaurant is beautiful and service was excellent, and we were out of there within 45 minutes of arriving.

Day 3 was spent at Animal Kingdom. We were prepared for rain , and rain it did.We skipped lunch today. At dinner time we had a downpour and headed for Yak and Yeti, a bit early to get out of the weather. Many people had take refuge there, and they took us 20 minutes early.

I had the 1/2 duck with vegetables. It was delicious.
DH had the ribs, he loved them
DS had the mahi mahi, very good
DD had the mini hamburger and applesauce, which she enjoyed.
DH and DS had sorbet, DD had icecream, and I had the fried wontons which were warm and yummy.
This was the place I was most worried we would not enjoy, but it was lovely, service was excellent, and food was great.

Day 4 was started with a late breakfast at HS.
Lunch was snacks and lots of water.
Dinner was at Epcot Coral Reef, which we had enjoyed last visit 5 years ago.

Again,no wait to be seated. We were on the upper row away from the tank, but DD enjoyed watching all the fish, and the group of divers in the water.Service was excellent, with a moderate wait for our meal.
DH had the mahi-mahi,which he liked.
DS and I had the seasonal catch with risotta and scallops which was very good.
DD had beefy macaroni and creamy lobster soup that she ended up sharing with her brother.
I had the chocolate wave and the rest of the family had sorbet. We thought the meals were quite good, but DH seemed to think it was better tasting last time. I would give it 2 thumbs up.

day 5 started at Blizzard Beach.
Lunch was at the hot dog hut. DD got the macaroni & cheese hot dog, and the rest of us got chili dogs. The meal came with chips and a cookie. We are not big hot dog fans. the chili tasted very similar to canned , but it was ok, except for the macaroni which DD scraped off hers.

Dinner was at Epcot -Le Cellier
2 minute wait for our table, same one we dined at last time, back in the corner, which was fine and quiet.
DH and DS got the New York Strip steak and mashed potato. DH thought it was salty, but finished it off.DS cleaned his plate as well.
I had the mushroom fillet w/risotto. It was very good.
DD had the steak and mashed potato, and enjoyed it. She also got chocolate mousse which she enjoyed.
DS and I had the maple creme brulee, except his was adorned with a happy birthday strip of chocolate and candles, and it was hard to finish, we both left half, it was wonderful, but too much.
Our server was friendly and sevice was excellent. Another great meal.

Day 6 was back to Magic Kingdom in the rain.

Lunch was at Pinoc Village Haus. It was very crowded with folks trying to get out of the rain.
I had DD's pasta with meatballs, it was fair, and plenty to eat.
the rest of the family had meatball sandwiches and french fries. DD ate yogurt which I was glad to see on the menu. We all got chocolate cake which tasted bad and was left uneaten . Not our favorite lunch, but was ok.

Dinner was at Liberty Tree Tavern. we had enjoyed this last time. It was fun with the characters, and they were missed.
We had beef, pork and turkey, and there is stuffing(think Stove Top) and chutney underneath the meat. We also had green beans, salad with a wonderful dressing, macaroni and cheese and gravy. Dessert was a cranberry, apple cake with icecream which was very good. I really wanted to pack up the rest of the meat to take back, and felt bad at the waste of good food that we could not finish. Service was quick, food was ok.

Day 7
We went to Downtown Disney for a quick lunch at Cookes Of Dublin, next to Raglan Road.
DH and I had the chicken sandwich and fries. I thought it was overcooked and overbreaded, the fries were undercooked.
DS had a breaded hamburger and said it was ok.
DD had shrimp and fries.
We also got a cookie which was not good.
I was disappointed, as the Irish Pub atmosphere was nice, there were tables outside, but the food was not good.

Dinner was airport food right before boarding for our flight home.

overall I thought our meals were very good, service at all the table service restaurants was excellent, our waitstaff were all friendly and attentive, some even chatted a bit which was nice.
We have yet to see if the DDP was a good option price wise, and I think DD will like having more choices next time. I think the childrens meals are very limited. I also felt better this time, as it wasn't too much food. Last trip an appetizer was included , and it was too much. Most days we walked about 6 miles before dinner so I wasn't worried about weight gain.

Thanks for sharing your reviews! I think I might really like to try dinner at LTT.

Great reviews! Glad to hear you all liked Yak and Yeti, I think that place is the best kept secret in all of WDW!

On Day 1 at San Angel - was DH's fish the Tilapia? If so, was it spicy? Any peppers? Onions?

DH enjoys Mexican food but I do not do well with onions or peppers. I'd like to fit San Angel in to our next trip if I can as it would really please DH. So I'm very interested in any dishes that might work well for me, and the menu description of the Tilapia sounds promising.

I think it was mahi mahi. He said it was very good and not spicy. I was worried that the sauce on my steak would be spicy, but it was also ok, it was a green tomatillo salsa. You can always ask for things on the side, no problem.

In reading your post, you mentioned DD was lactos intolerant. Do they have special ice cream at restaurants for those folks as I further read she had ice cream for dessert? Also had cream soups?

Thanks.
