We got back to Old Key West where we all started getting ready. I got back into my dress, and because of rules regarding uniforms, Josh put on his suit. Andrea and John got all fancied up as well! As Andrea and I were talking in the kitchen there was a knock on the door. Andy told me to go get the door.
Standing at the door there was a very nice cast member who handed me this
Josh wanted a photo of me next to it, so here
My family had it is sent up to us! What a fun surprise!
Inside there was a bottle of champagne, chocolate, cookies, chocolate, Mickey etched champagne glasses, and a photo from Minnie and Mickey (more about that photo later) It was all packed in a red wicker type Mickey shaped basked that now sits on my coffee table to hold the remotes.
Now it was off to the bus! I have something fun that not many girls have, a photo of myself and my new husband in wedding clothes on a Disney bus!
He hopped off the bus at the Magic Kingdom. As we walked past the gates we saw a family coming out with a little girl in a stroller just about asleep. She looked at me, and had the biggest smile ever. Her mother bent down and asked her if she saw the princess walking by. I looked up at Josh, with what he said was one of the biggest smiles he has ever seen. As we walked by the gates and up the ramp to the monorail all around us people were shouting congratulations. Guess something about a wedding dress outside the Magic Kingdome attracts some attention…..
We got on the monorail, and headed to the Contemporary. We headed over to the check in desk, and then over to the elevator and up to the 15th floor. As we came in we met the sweetest people who were at the bar. They asked if they could take some photos of us later in the night. They were very sweet. We were seated almost immediately at a window seat!
When we got to our table we had confetti!!
We had the sweetest waitress who was very excited for us. We all ordered drinks, but before she brought them, she brought us glasses of champagne to toast our wedding!
Out came the bread
As we waited for our food the sweet couple we had met at the bar came over and took some photos of us. They emailed them to us, but they are on Josh’s computer (which is very far way) so I don’t have them to share. They were very very nice, and told us they were a military family as well.
Before we knew it, food was on the way!
We started with the triple cheese flatbread YUM
Andrea also ordred sushi of some kind. I have tried sushi in the past, it just isn’t for me.
First course came next
Andrea and I both had the Sonaoma Goat Cheese Ravioli.
The boys both had the Roasted Heirloom Squash Soup
As we were enjoying our first course, the fireworks started. Joshua and I watched half of them from inside, and half from outside. What more could a girl ask for, then for her first dance to be to Wishes…
We dance to a small piece, then sat back down. This is where I met my second DISer of the trip. She told us we were going to make her cry. She was also taking photos of her food. She was super sweet, and just happened to be next to us.
We were able to enjoy the rest of our first courses, and sat around chatting till our Main Courses came out.
I had the Grilled Pork Tenderloin so did Andrea
Joshua had the Seared Bison
It was very rare
And John had ( I think) the Pan-roasted Pacific Sea Bass Fillet
Joshua enjoying the evening
