A warning for those who may be considering driving to WDW

If I'm understanding it correctly, Snopes is saying pretty much what Fox News is saying , yes?

The story is actually from about 3 years ago. Back then everyone was touting corn based ethanol as a saviour to rising gas prices and the environment. The snopes article points out that AAA and others do believe the E15 gasoline can cause problems in cars that are manufactured before 2012, but at the same time they also point out that the use of E15 is on the decline because of the environmental impact.

I think the short of it is just check the pumps to make sure they are not using E15. It should be displayed. We drove down in August and didn't see E15.

And if you watch the news item, it is pretty obvious what you are pumping at the pumps. It's not like they are hiding it. I'm pretty sure that everyone is aware of what the "E-" fuels are, we've had 10% ethanol available in our fuels here for years. You are probably as likely to accidentally pump E-15/30/45/85 as you are diesel; and the results are far less disastrous. The average car can handle an occasional tank of higher ethanol without harm, it is only prolonged use that could start to cause damage to older fuel systems.

the biggest issues with E fuel is that it has less power per liter than gas -- so a full tank of E fuel will burn faster and give you less milage -- at a higher cost.

i did once put e-15 fuel into my can and ran out of fuel in about 250 kms vs the standard 500 my tank would normally give me.
