A Voyage of Firsts! The WONDERful Journey North: LA-Vancouver-Alaska, 4/27-5/10 2011

Near DL and the port....that's very wise. John likes to rent cars and drive....and I like to stay near the ocean. I loved CA when we were there after the PC....that was my first time. I'm excited to be going back. This time we'll be doing San Diego for one day, LA we're staying in and San Francisco on the cruise. That's perfect for me to explore more of CA. This will probably be my favorite part of the trip. I'm not too keen on going to Alaska....it's cold there. But I'm going to be with the greatest group of friends and to enjoy myself. I'm hoping to be amazed by Alaska and change my mind with a BBC in hand. haha.

It will be cold. I found something while researching Alaska stuff that said that time of May the high temp is usually 53F.

So you're both only 6 years older than me. Cool! :thumbsup2 I can't believe you didn't know that song, Nan! ;)

Holly.. .

Nan and I are ancient and also lazy... what song were we talking about again???

Holly and I are still in shorts in the 50's... well... Holly is... :lmao:

Speak for yourself! I wear them when the temp gets below 65!!!
:rotfl2: That's when we start wearing shorts in Michigan! :thumbsup2 I keep forgetting temp is relative. To be honest, I don't even own longjohns. I'd die sweating if I ever wore them. ;)

Thanks for the link deb!

Im so glad we switched and were doing this b2b. Bethanys school wasnt real keen on the 2 1/2 weeks in Jan but their ok with April and the first week is Easter break so that helps.

Were flying in on Sat and going up to Camarillo to see relatives and then down to Knotts Berry farm and Disney mon and tues. After the cruise were going down to Seattle to see Toms aunts and then fly home so it will be nice not only to see so many friends from the PC cruise but family we havent seen in awhile too .

Did the Tower of Terror and Aerosmith 10 times each last night for the passholder event. Im recovering today, although we just got back form the Rays game and "Train" did a concert after ! Having a nice weekend off with Bethany :)

I've heard that Knotts Berry Farm has REALLY good fried chicken! :thumbsup2

I plan on getting through Alaska with Hot Flashes...

We went to Howe Caverns once in the middle of August... it's always 52 degrees in there... everyone was putting on jackets and blankets and I'm strippin down to my tank top and shorts... :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hi Heather!!! Welcome!!! :dance3:

Saw this design that jordak did and thought you all might be interested in having one done for your stateroom door for the Alaska portion of the trip.

Glad you're having a fun weekend! :thumbsup2

You were wearing shorts in the 1950's??? I didn't realise you gals were so ... er... senior!!! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: Sorry!

OK, first of all, forgive me for re-posting something old, but I'm just starting out on this thread and will have lots of catching up over the weekend. And second, is that a Jack Skellington outfit? It's too early for my eyes to fully focus yet, but if so, HOW COOL!!! Never seen one before! :thumbsup2

OMG!!! I'd forgotten I'd posted that pic of my poor long-suffering husband on the World Wide Web!!! Holly, if I remember correctly it is a Disney fabric but not Jack Skellington. He's had the shirt for a while but then I spotted the hilarious trousers in a Disney Outlet store. Well, I had to buy them as even the thought of him in the matching set was enough to get me laughing!!! I will get him to wear the outfit for the PJ breakfast... ;)

Very funny! :thumbsup2 However both interpretations apply to me! In shorts in the 1950's and in shorts at 50 degrees.
