In keeping with my attempts from last October, I feel dutifully obliged to do a pre-trip thingy.

It appears that the common thing is to do a "cast" list. So,

Me
Deb

That was easier and more straightforward than I thought. So what is next in the formula? From reading others, it seems to be the overall plan of the trip. Unfortunately, Deb (my co-traveler as you'll see from the exhaustive list above) is in charge of such matters and whilst I pay a level of attention, it is safe to say nowhere near enough. Nevermind though, here goes:

15 August - stay at Crowne Plaza at Heathrow, cheaper than 14nts parking and no 2 hr drive at 4am the next morning;

16 August - fly to Miami (or as those flying johnnies say LHR-MIA) and then drive to Palm Beach and stay in the PGA National for a night;

17 August - drive to Orlando (or as those driving johnnies say Orlando) some shopping at Edwin Watts, Walmart, Pointe Orlando and a liquor store (and countless other places I've forgotten), lunch at Tommy Bahama Cafe and the onto SSR.

17 - 25 August stay at SSR. Apparently, we have a number of things arranged for these 8 days with various hangers on by the names of Stringer, Curry, Yates (yes I've said your name now so it has to happen!) and Allcock, but I'll be honest I'm not sure what:confused3 Said activities include V&A's, drinking, Jellyrolls, drinking, Adventurers Club, drinking, Artist Point, drinking, Illuminations, drinking, some place called WDW oh and I think a little more drinking.

25 - 30 August we go somewhere else, but as yet we do not know where. So if there are any wealthy, drink loving, Floridians out there, please get in touch, my number is 555-POUR-ME-ONE.

So that is currently the plan, and a somewhat lame interpretation thereof.

There is a chance that these trip reports will continue during the merriment, but, if the merriment is merry don't expect much sense!

Great start ~ Looking ofrward to reading more:thumbsup2

That's OK Matt, you don't need to know what - just make sure you have your wallet and your passport ;)

my number is 555-POUR-ME-ONE

That's strange - I could have sworn the dial code was 0898 :confused3 :rotfl2:

Matt,

I am stunned by the splendour of this report. I would willingly sell my house and all its contents (including Bontempi keyboard and spare stylophone stylus) to have the privilage of reading such deep, moving, stylistically impeccable and beautiful prose.

Forgive me. I must go and destroy myself whilst weeping at your charm, modesty and innate goodness.

I am mad.

Thanks for all your kind words of encouragement. As we are taking the laptop I may well type the report each day as we go along, which could be interesting when one takes into account the amount I drink!!

Rachel - yes we are in the US until the 30th, albeit we fly from MIA, so will be making the journey there on the 30th, so in Orlando until 29th.

Sue - best place to find me is usually at the bottom of a bottle of beer in a bar! Our first night though we are at Raglan Rd (17th that is), but keep your eyes open, an more importantly your ears as I do like a sing-song after a few scoops!!

are you going to do a 'picture of what we drank' thread rather than the usual 'pictures of what I ate' version???

Thank goodness for digital or you might run out of film :lmao:

If you have the time it would be great to meet up with you and Debs.:thumbsup2
