I think Roots could make a picture of dog poop look great!
Is Patrick wearing a "
Disneyland" sweatshirt on Disney WORLD? Aren't there rules? Then again I guess he is more a rules breaker, Mr Parade himself!
He's gotta represent — WessSIIIIIIIIDE!
Loved the update, especially Patrick in the parade!
Life with that guy is never dull!
Those are some of the best photographs I have ever seen of the Magic Kingdom. The pictures of Pirates were amazing! Disney should hire the Roots to do all of their photography!
See, that's what I'm saying!
Great update! I wonder how the Roots make all their pictures such good quality color. It's just so great.
They really have an eye, that's for sure, and they spend the time needed to edit each photo.
Wow, the Roots take great pictures. It's awesome that you got to be such good friends through your wedding. As usual, I love your TR!
Thanks! I think meeting the Roots was the best thing to come out of our wedding (well, except for that whole "getting to spend the rest of my life with my soulmate" thing)
God, I thought commercials were bad... Your pics (I LOVE the Roots, and if I do ever have a Disney wedding like I want to, I'm so hiring them) make me miss WDW even more. I'm going down in January, but it's not soon enough, you know? I've been sort of pricing a quick trip in October, but god only knows if that'll happen
Ooh! Ooh! I hope it happens! It sounds like an amazing time of year to go!
Now that was some great evening eye candy, wow those pictures are amazing. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us.
Look below, yes, I have a ticker for DL. feel free to give me any tips you feel I should have. BTW, do you have any DL trip reports?
Congrats on your upcoming trip! You know, I've never written a Disneyland trippie because we go so often that the trips never seem to warrant it. Although there's a mini Disneyland trip report in my "2 Haunted Mansions, 1 Day" trip report cuz we spent the last two days of our WDW vacation at Disneyland to pull off the feat of riding HM in both parks on the same day. AND there are tons of Root photos of Disneyland in it:
Check it out!

Oh, God the Roots. Wow...I am just blownaway by those photos.
And Patrick in the parade route...good golly! Forgot how much fun he is. Geez I miss you guys...hafta get back to LA!
Yes—I hope you do! And I have been thinking that the answer to your "spouse not down with the Mouse" problem is girls-only trips to Disney!
I'm drooling over those pics! So great! And etra thanks for posting pics of Patrick marching down the parade route. It is a relief to learn I am not the only one!
Oh man, now I gotta get a pic of THAT!
WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!!!!
i would like to have all your pictures in a slow rotating desktop montage(sp?)....so i can sit and watch and sigh...
Totally! We just load our digital picture frame with Root pix...
Fantastic pics! Love Patrick's DIY parade
He's really good at entertaining himself!
Love all the pics! Patrick in the parade. You two are so fun!
I hope so! I mean, I hope we're "fun" and not just "eccentric"....
Wonderful photos by the Roots.
As starann said, they could make a pic of POOP look good!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the update(s)!!! Great shots...although i have to say my favorite series of shots were the "Patrick Parade" ones...hilarious!
OK, now you guys are just encouraging him—he'll be parading around the HOUSE if I'm not careful!
I have decided that when I win the lottery, I'm going to hire a full-time hair stylist, dental hygienist, and Roots-quality photographers to live with me and be at my beck and call. Where's the lottery fairy when you need him?
Ooh! Ooh! When the lottery fairy gets to my house, I'm stealing your wish!
Best pictures EV-AR!
Tell Patrick my marching band is looking for a new majorette!

OK, but only if he gets to wear a skirt!
Great as ususal!!!!!
Pattick makes a one man parade look pretty darn exciting.
Some might say even more exciting than the actual parade...
Great pics, love the update!
Thanks for reading!
I'm quite enjoying keeping up with both your trip reports right now, and must say I love your California perspective of WDW and beyond. Growing up in NorCal myself, Disneyland is my home turf. I've never been to WDW, and from what I've read, it's a whole different beast. So I've been cruising the DIS for months planning my five-years-down-the-road-when-the-kids-are-old-enough-to-appreciate-the-expense trip, and your reports have helped immensely. Even though you are sans kids and I've got two to spare, it's still a great source of information.
Keep it up, and I'll be interested if you ever write a Disneyland TR since I would actually be able to relate to everything. But that seems a little odder than a WDW report, eh?
Yeah, there's something about doing a Disneyland trip report that doesn't seem as interesting to me—oh no! Have I become blasé about my favorite spot on Earth?

At any rate, I'm glad to hear my trip reports are helpful. I did the same thing when we were planning our first trip to WDW, and I loved how other peoples' reports gave me a kind of short-cut to the best ways to see and do things.
Carrie,
I have LOVED this TR - We are heading to WDW from the UK in October, we shall be Disney virgins, AND dp and I are getting married there AND I am celebrating my 35th while we are there!
SOOOOOO Excited and think I may be just a bit addicted to reading the TRs, but just wanted to say I loved yours!
Lx
Congratulations!!! Your trip is going to be fabulous!
Carrie - Thanks for the update! Looking forward to the big finish!!!! Heading over to tokyo now to catch up.
See ya there! The big finish to this one is a ways off, but it IS coming...
Great update! The pics of Patrick with an empty parade root are a riot LOL! He looks like he is having so much fun!
Yes—it's definitely the mark of a happy person, someone who can make his own fun!
I forgot to ask, what did you think of Tiana's Showboat Jubilee? I am really hoping they revive it, because Caroline would love to see it when we're there in December. Was Charlotte in it? I doubt it, but I wish she was! She's my favorite character in the movie ("And heah I was thinkin' that wishin' on stahs was for cuh-RAZY people!"). Did Dr. Facilier do anything like sing or talk? Or did he just run around and intimidate?

<-- The most intimidating smiley I could find.
Love the intimidating smiley! No Charlotte in the jubilee, and I'm with you—she's the funniest character in the whole movie! I know she's s'posed to be a parody of princess-loving little girls, but Disney could make serious coin by selling replicas of all her dresses! We liked the Jubilee overall, though—I'm not a big parade fan, but with the music and seeing the characters "in person" the fun is infectious!
Anyone know if Lurkyloo plans on finishing this trip report or is it just done for?
Lurkyloo most certainly does plan on finishing this report! Right now, however, I'm in the middle of a trip report on a massive, 3-week trip to Japan and Tokyo Disney. If you're bored, you should check it out!
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2440546
Because each installment takes between 6 and 8 hours of photo editing, writing and preparing for upload and I am only able to work on the weekend, I'm averaging about one installment a week.
I felt like this trip report was getting short-shrift, and I didn't want it not to be as good as the others because I was spreading myself too thin. So right now I'm focused on getting the Tokyo trippie finished so I can come back here and focus all my attention on this one.
I have TONS more great stories and Root photos from this Christmas trip, so I will definitely update it again when I get the chance.
