A Very Lurkyloo Christmas is FINISHED! New 3/16: Last Day of the Trip!

Thanks for posting that, Carrie! Now I want to eat there!!

Me either! I should start checking the Food Porn thread when it opens and see if anyone posts pics...

Can't wait! I have scored ressies for the 19th of Aug, so watch for my TR & I'll let ya know how it goes!

Fabulous - I want to hear all about it!

Okay, the sun rises from the backside of Bay Lake behind the Contemporary and sets over behind the Grand-ish area between the Grand and the long stretch of Monorail track. I think. Does that help?

And here's a deal: I'll trade you the Kalamata Olive toast for the artichoke spread and we'll both be happy. And then we each can order a Mickey Waffle! Done deal!

I like it, I like it! :lmao: Also, thanks for the sunrise tip - I think my plan might actually work!

It does. Right here to be exact :) ( I always knew my very random picture taking would come in handy some day)

Sunrise-bathtub-breakfast-time does sound very nice! (and early!)

Hey, thanks for the picture! You never know when a random photo might be needed. Right now I'm having a heck of a time finding shots of World Showcase Lagoon taken from Norway, Africa, France, and Canada. For some reason, most people seem to take shots of the countries themselves, not what they face - go figure!

Carrie thanks for posting those pre-menus! I am thinking I might need to venture over for breakfast one morning...:

You should! Chances are, it will be the morning we go, and then we'll have a DIS mini-Meet!

Sunrise bubble bath?! That sound divine! Would it be too much to have breakfast in the bubble bath? At least be able to sip chilled orange juice! That would be decadent!

Not too much at all - in fact, I plan on having my breakfast from inside the tub. I just wish those DVC units came equipped with a special tray that fit it! :rotfl:

Even more decadent if it had some champagne in it! Yay mimosas!

Let's see, what's a virgin mimosa.... Straight OJ? I can do that... :teeth:

We did MVMCP in 2005 the night before our cruise. We were there for the rides and the parade. I couldn't find the watery hot chocolate. The rides were a walk on, but we couldn't get over to BTMRR from Splash because of the parade. It was chilly and raining on and off. Maybe that's why it snowed on Main Street - real snow. I saw if coming off the rooftops:goodvibes I'm not sure if I would pay for it during a week long trip, we could get the same experiences minus the cookies and hot chocolate on our own throughout the week.

Thanks for sharing your experience - that reminds me that I need to find out exactly when the parades are and where they go so we won't get trapped! :thumbsup2

I'll try to keep up better - heading down your way and then to Vegas to see Lion King at the end of the month - then on to Boise for a couple of months with DH for his work.

Ooh - have fun! What does your DH do that you get to spend multiple months in Boise? If I may ask... :flower3:

So I am simultaneously happy and grouchy to report that WDW is officially going back to a 180-day window for booking dining reservations and posting park hours -- but not til Oct. 27. :headache:

I will try to use this as an excuse to get DH to go back to WDW in February for our 2nd anniversary (since our ADR window would be, like, Oct. 27) but I don't think it's going to work...

WHY COULDN'T THEY HAVE DECIDED THIS SOONER?! :sad2:

That is all. :upsidedow

But they'll probably still release the park hours at 90 days (or more like 75 days). :rotfl:

You're welcome :goodvibes I'm headed to WDW tomorrow and back on Sunday so I'll be sure to take some random photo's of the lagoon from those countries :thumbsup2.

Speaking of parades and being trapped it never fails we end up going to MK during ABC's filming of the Christmas parade. It is so creepy. The parade stops over and over (for filming purposes) and there's no music but all of the performers are waving and dancing like there is. And if you're not registered as a TV audience member you're not even allowed to walk down Main Street, they shuffle you along the back way where the delivery trucks are making deliveries and it smells like cigarettes and exhaust . Then they dump you out into Tomorrowland and you have to walk around the entire park to get to LTT when you have a lunch ADR there but wait until the parade is at a stopping point before the CM's will drop the rope and let you scurry across the parade path before putting it up again. It's so strange cause you feel like you crashed a party you weren't invited to.

Here's hoping your DH agrees to a February trip! :goodvibes I had originally said (before this trip) that we weren't going back until 12/12/12 (cause I'm a dork and thought that would be cool). Then I moved it to 12/12/11. And now since this trip in August was planned at the last minute, I know it's going to make me miss Disney even more (I just can't do anything less than a week trip, I get withdrawals) and want to push our trip to next year :). He's not a huge Disney fan and would prefer to go to an all inclusive, beachy place next year :(

You're welcome. I'm sure everyone has different experiences.

Thank you, I'm excited. DH is in the Air Force. He's being sent to a base in ID. for a few months, since I work from home, I'm taking my work with me!

I know I was thinking about people who are caught in between the 90 day and 180 day marks. I wonder why they felt they needed to change it back? The good thing is we'll have the park hours sooner for lots of planning!!!

I agree! I am so happy they are going back to the 180 days but why not make it retroactive now and not Oct 27th! I would then be ablet to book my stuff for my wedding now! :headache:

Hi Carrie!

Could you remind us how to send pictures to our blogs? I have an iPhone and I think you told us how you sent pictures before.

Thanks!

Supposedly, hours will be coming out at 180 days, but as we all know, it usually lags by a few days - heaven help anyone whose trip starts on the 1st!

Thanks for the picture offer! :thumbsup2 Sounds like you had a pretty traumatic experience with the Christmas parade taping - I'd heard it was bad but didn't know just HOW bad! But that happens the first weekend in December, right? Before we get there?

That is so cool! What a great way to see the world (or at least The States).

One theory is that it was always going to go back to 180 days and that they just changed it to 90 while they phased in the new online dining ressie system. :confused3

 Here's hoping you get everything on your list - brides should get special dispensation! ;)

Hi Carrie!

Could you remind us how to send pictures to our blogs? I have an iPhone and I think you told us how you sent pictures before.

Thanks!

Yes! OK, so what you do is email the picture to post@iphoneslide.com - then you get an email back with a link to click that will post it to your blog. The first time you do it, you select which kind of blog you have and it prompts you to sign in. From then on, all you have to do is click the link in the email to post it! :)

OK, I am waaaaaaaay too excited about this, but I just discovered, like, last week that the DIS holds these amazing private parties every year around MouseFest time, and this year's is right during our trip to WDW.

Well, today they announced what this year's party is, and luckily for latecomers like me, it's a redux of last year's :banana:PRIVATE PARTY AT PIXAR PLACE!!!

It's after DHS closes and we get to ride Toy Story Mania as many times as we want and there will be carnival/street fair food and Woody will be there and also Sarge is leading us in from the front gate - WHEW! :faint:

And it's only 25 bucks! And there's no limit on how many people can attend! And this year they're letting us bring cameras!

So, I say if you're going to be in WDW on Dec. 12, we should all meet at the DIS party! :goodvibes

UGH!!!

December 12 is my first night there and we are going to see Cirque du Soleil, not going to stinky DHS. That sucks.

Since it is after hours, do you know if you have to use park admission to go, or if it's just $25? If it's just the $25, I'd ditch all of the other tired guests in my party and walk over from the BWV to go on my own. If you need park admission a) that's bologna and b) I won't have it because we're doing Epcot that afternoon and it's a non-hopper.

.....unless I change my plans to do DHS that first afternoon and eat at Sci-Fi and then we can go back later that night.

Hrmmmmmmm.......

No park admission necessary! :thumbsup2

When you host before- or after-hours events, they don't make your guests pay to get in.

So that means you can go, right?! :hyper:

They said last year's started around 9:30 (park closed at 8pm) and went til midnight or 1am. Could you come over after Cirque?

That'll be rough, only because I'll have been up at 3:00am that morning to get to the airport, but for all of my fellow DISers, I think I can probably make it work. It'll work nicely since it doesn't require park admission AND because DHS at 9:00am was the plan for the next day anyway (if the park hours work out as planned) so this means theoretically, I could just sleep in and go to DHS at closer to 11:00 or so. Niceeeee.

Got any link to more information? Any date you have to buy tickets by? AND what does the $25 include---just access to the park and non-stop rides on TSM?

I'm soooo in! *Runs off to look for details*

Hi...ummm, I'm really late to the party, and now that I've caught up on all the previous TR's, am feeling ever so slightly like a stalker; and I'm wondering, can I come too? I have the admission price;
(A friend of mine and I have a boutique cake company that we do on the side, here's the NBC inspired B-day cake we did this week)
010-1.jpg

I also showed my DD your wedding video and pics; no sign of a groom yet, (probably a really good thing since she's 9 LOL)but she's been saying she's definitely going to have a WDW wedding, so why not reinforce/enable it?

Anyway, love your reports, and am excited that we are planning a trip to our happy place the same week; we try to go every year, but have never been around Christmas.:santa:

Okay, hang on here... let's back up to page one... they have chocolate peanut butter cake at the Boardwalk?? I may have to hop in the car right now and go!!

Oh wait, they are closed. Can I break in?

The private Pixar party sounds fun! I may have to go!

Are you a fan of the podcast, too? Or did you read about it on the boards? I'm a super huge fan! :lovestruc

I was just kidding when I posted about Disney still releasing the hours at 90 days, even though you'll be able to make ADR's at 180. I don't think my sarcasm translated very well :upsidedow LOL

p.s. Have you tried Dreyer's Slow Churned Peanut Butter Cup ice cream? OMG, soooo good! And it's less calories/fat than the regular ice cream (not that you have to worry about that....;) ). It was on sale at Albertson's this week for super cheap ($2.88/tub!), so we bought 4 of them! (Yes, FOUR) :rolleyes1
