A Very Interesting Game of Cute or Boot - Updated -

Perhaps Staff is actually doing something about reporting because yesterday I reported an idiot who was saying racist things and was harassing a girl. I reported and did not get the usual " use ignore button". VMK_Sunny came in a banned him. It was fun to watch.

Uh oh...I've played my brother's game of Falling Chairs before. We didn't mean it as a scam (I was the second or third person out). But just in case, I won't play his games anymore.

and yet... i just witnessed another scam.... no staff were involved though, i was at a cute or boot game win teleport magic and it was towards the last round, it was between me and another person all of a sudden i was booted! i asked a friend of mine to go in there and see if the prize was given, the answer was no the prize had not been given, my friend was a friend of the owner and he asked the owner to come where i was, after he saw me he fled and deleted my friend from his list...... / i would also like to note that i do not pay because of reasons like these, i never really liked the pay system on VMK

I think if you play a game like falling chairs, it really can't be fixed unless they put the chair right next to you each time. The games that are opinion like cute or boot, those can easily be fixed. I guess the typing game could be fixed if they get a friend who is super fast. Well, I don't like those games. I always lose (not because I'm bad, but because they are fixed! )

I too am glad to see that they are cracking down on scammers.

Every cute or boot I have been in I've never see a winner. They keep letting people pay to keep playing !! That is like letting someone buy back a chair in musical chairs. It would never end.
After about 20 minutes of this and forget it.
Talk about a scam

I would be interested to know how Red knew it was a friend playing the game with them.

ALSO.. I get invited to Cute and boot games from a lot of the kids on my list (other games too) so does that mean if a friend on my list invites me to a Cute and boot game I shouldn't go?

What about other games... FRIENDS INVITE FRIENDS to play their games.

Not sure I am happy about that player getting booted because they were playing a friends game.

Do I now reply Oh Sorry I am your friend therefore I can't come play your game because VMK Red will boot me?

I'd say they can probably look at the IP they are playing on.

And I'd say it's fine to play your friend's games, just as long as it isn't one of those "I can pick the winner whenever I want to" games like Cute or Boot.

Players and hosts sharing an IP address is a badge of fraud. It's too easy to cheat. If I had to guess, BTW, I would guess that the host's "friend" wasn't booted. The host's mule was probably the one booted.

Online poker sites monitor in the same way. They do not permit two players using the same IP address to play the same table. I learned this when my brother in law joined a game with me at a restaurant where we shared a hotspot.

It was no trouble. But when he went to join a table, he got a strange error message and it wouldn't let him join because he was already at the table, or something like that. We then figured out that the table # he was trying to join was the one I was already at.

I saw Lion come into POTC lobby the other day and publicly warn a player that he should give something back to another player, because scamming can result in a permanent ban.
