A Very Duggar Wedding

Lisa, if I had to pick one, I'd say honestly I can relate more to the Roloff's.

Because bless their hearts, the house is a mess. And because it seems like every episode has a similar theme: Matt has some harebrained idea. Amy thinks he's lost his mind. Matt gets half-way thru the idea and realizes he's in trouble and drags in the kids or some friend to fix what he started. Amy shakes her head repeatedly and tells Matt that he's lost his mind, and yells at the kids to come eat dinner. The fun of it is watching the two of them interact that way, to me they seem more like a real couple.

Plus, while we're not little people, I don't have a "typical" family and can relate to that aspect of it. I guess none of the 3 families are typical, but the un-typical-ness  (is that a word?) of the Roloff's is closer.

I almost forgot about the Roloffs! they are great to and they are down to earth. I like them all for different reasons i guess!!!:lmao:

Last night though I caught the Duggar anniversary trip to San Francisco, which I found really kinda sad and embarrassing but I couldn't look away....

Off topic for their wedding, but did anyone else see the JimBob and Michelle come home from San Francisco in a silver BMW convertible? Come on! Aren't we supposed to be frugal people? Please tell me that was a rental!

Last night though I caught the Duggar anniversary trip to San Francisco, which I found really kinda sad and embarrassing but I couldn't look away....

I caught that too, but not the first 10-15 minutes. Amazing what is on at midinght! Anyway, why did you find it kinds and and embarassing? They did appear a little maybe "green" in the shops, but that could be anyone from a small town in the big city. I really like what Michelle said at the end of the show about that eventhough they enjoy their personal time together (trips, dinners) they end up talking about the kids and think about aspects of the trip that they would like or have fun with. They even brought back the skirt fo rthe one daughter. I would hope this is sincere. DH and I often end up talking about the kids or missing them when we go out of town...Man we need to get lives.:lmao:

Cousin Amy is a hoot, but yes, in the past few episodes she has gotten mouthy. The episode after the one at midnight was about them going to a safari place or something...I only caught the first few minutes. Amy was with them. It almost seems like they are trying to include her in their activities. Maybe they are trying to be positive role models?!?! Or maybe TLC is using that $$ from JK8 that was offered for Aunt Jodi?!?!

The other think I noticed was JimBob's father. He had been in the specials and even the episode when Josh and Anna got engaged. Last night it was explained that he has a medical problem and it was very apparent that his health has slipped.

Cousin Amy and one of the Duggar girls living together...sounds more like E than TLC:rotfl2:

Because TLC is over cleaning Kate's house (JK8):rotfl2:

Don't understand...read the Jon & Kate +8 thread.

I saw the ep with the anniversary trip. What a joke..................does anyone actually believe that JimBob and Michelle were that clueless about being in a headshop?? Give me a break:lmao:

I think that those two play off just how much they do know about the outside world. I mean they can't be that stupid.................can they????

Actually if they were raised the way they are raising those kids it is entirely possible that they are that clueless. I doubt it though. I think they know enough to understand what they need to do to brainwash and control their brood. I see them as very manipulative.

I won't go into my opinions on the Duggars too much. I think they have frugality down to an art and as a result they are doing well financially. I also think they are very strange. And comparing JK8 to Duggars - a lot of talk on the Dis about JK's kids being in a fishbowl but the Duggar kids have ALWAYS been in a fishbowl, well before being on TV.

Anyway, the reason I'm actually replying is to see if anyone else thought it was totally ODD that they fed TRUCKLOADS of bread, buns and bagels to the safari animals??????? It seemed like a really high-class place. NOT!

I noticed that too, doesn't seem very healthy. I don't know. :confused3

For anyone interested the wedding is airing again tonight at 10 est on Discovery Health.
popcorn::

Wedding prep show is on now.

Feeding farm animals old bakery products is pretty common. I don't know why it would be any different for th safari animals.

AWWW.:goodvibes

Just finished watching.

I don't really see what was all the strange about the wedding. Anna's dress was simple yet very pretty. I actually liked the bride'smaids' dresses and give them credit for sewing them all. Thought the part when John David ran out to get the ring was a funny, appropriate thing to do at the wedding. Their vows, although maybe not typical, did seem to be very Biblically based with with some teachings that are not heldfast these days...hey, DH and I had a version that in not so blunt terms told us to ummm, be fruitful and multiply...but not with the unlimited kids part. By the way...doesn't 1x1=1???

The Car! Was it out of line...maybe, but when Josh specifically tell them don't do something he should know that is looking for trouble. Was it funny...not really. What was funny, not HAHA funny, but funny was when they then had to get into the car for the ring. The TP in the car was over the top, but cousin Amy wasn't alone and Jim Bob was right there watching. Hey, they waited 20 years a few more minutes isn't gonna kill um.

The Kiss! I think I got why he went in like that. There was so much talk about going the wrong way he made sure they wouldn't!

The books/tapes? What an auditory guide to s--101? I would hope by 20 he new the biological aspects of who/what/where.

OK, here's another ?. JimBob and Michelle were discussing their previous relationships. He said that she had several relationships befor him. OK, but didn't they get married when she was 16 or some age really young??? 16 with a "history" HolyMoly!

Yah, and there have been serveral times that Michelle and Jim Bob have said that "we don't want our kids to make the mistakes that we made" in regards to dating and relationships. Hmmm...maybe Mrs. Dugger has some skeletons in her closet?? :rotfl:

I must be the only one that doesn't like cousin Amy. Is she trying to break into showbusiness or why is she always on the show? I think it's extremely nice of the Duggers to let her in on the action. To me the Duggars seem genuine but cousin Amy always seems "On" for the cameras.

I watch the show from time to time, missed the wedding episode. I googled Amy Dugger and there is a gal who has her own website, says she is a country singer and tv personality (promotes the show). Geuss her stage name is Amy Jordyn. Also has a website under that name.

Yea, major skeletons

From what I have read, Michelle actually dated 2 boys before meeting JB and, dare I say this.....KISSED one of them ON THE MOUTH!!

Can you believe it? JB is such an amazing man to forgive Michelle for her sins and marry her anyway.:rolleyes2

I think the Duggar that will rebel will be Jessa(i think thats her name). She and Amy will have their own reality show.:happytv:

I completely agree. There is just something about her that screams 'rebel rebel' to me. Maybe it's the extra makeup she wears (not that it's a lot, but it is for a Duggar).

I honestly keep waiting to hear about the first Duggar to appear in Playboy. I can't help but feel that when one of them rebels, they are going to REALLY rebel.

I didn't catch the duggars last night. But man what is it with these people?! Is everyone in america addicted to the duggars and gosslins?!:lmao:
I have to say I do like both shows though. For different reasons. I like the Duggars because even though their beliefs seem a little cultish to me, they are a wholesome family. I wish I could be more calm like Michelle. My hubby to be watches it with me cause he hopes they spill some secret about how they REALLY make their money!:lmao: No we know that its because of rental properties they own. They have the life. they are able to stay home with all of their children whereas most people have to go to work and be away from their kids. My hubby wants their life:rotfl:
I like watching Jon and Kate because I am kinda neurotic like her:rotfl: They epitomize the american family. they send a message that you dont have to be as pure and wholesome as the Duggars to be the perfect family and that every family does their best for each other.:)

Aha! I knew it! That is her on the website. I'm so impressed that the Duggars share the spotlight with her to help give a boost to her career. I want Jimbob for an uncle.

I just looked at Amy's website and her professional photos are awful! They don't look like her. She looks much prettier on the show.
