Good morning all.
So.....i said I would wait til I caught my TR up....but I had a terrible morning (and its only 8am!) I got stuck in a huge rain storm while walking to work. and showed up drenched from head to toe. so...I decided to cheer myself up with my next dining review. (hopefully not too many people are reading both! haha)
So we had ADR's at the Hoop Dee Doo Review at 5. so we didn't eat anything else after Chef Mickey's (buffets are so filling!) We arrived early and checked in. They take your photo in front of the building.
so...on a side note...I am a HUGE theme person....and its a dinner show so we dressed appropriately. There was a point where me and DH were just looking around and weren't standing near each other.....well this guest came up to both of us at different points asking us about the restaurant or the campgrounds. He was totally convinced that we were CMs and wouldn't really understand that we weren't! So much for my theme idea...guess that backfired.
So we waited around for the opening ceremony thing they do. Where they drag a kid up to the porch and try and get him to ring the dinner bell. Pretty much everyone was like....we are hungry can the kid ring this bell already? The kid did not want to do it and it took a while. So after he finally rang the bell we all charged in. You are given a little ticket with your party # and table (i believe) so when you get to the door you just hand off it to them and your seated right away.
Now....me and DH are not big participation people. So I was very clear on wanting a Section 2 or 3 seat....well....we got a 1 even though its not in our Dining plan. We were seated at the table on the left of the stage right next to the kitchen. (uh oh) Our server was awesome....I can't even really explain it she just was awesome. kind of loud and outspoken. Well she came by quickly and took our drink orders.
What else but beer!?
So before we got here me and DH talked about the whole food thing. I don't care what he eats but i'm really not huge on him eating anything on the bone....and he usually doesn't care. Obviously we would have an issue here. DH asked if she could not bring the ribs and just the chicken. I told her I was a vegetarian and I had spoken to a chef. She said that wouldn't be a problem and what would I like. I decided the easiest thing to go for would be veggie burger.
so she went off to make that happen
Salad and corn bread came out pretty quickly!
I loved the corn bread! it was so so good and moist.....I maaaaaaay have eaten a lot of it. yum yum. The salad was also very good, light and yummy.
So before the food the performers come out for a little while.
So about this time me and DH realized we still had our buttons on...and as we don't like being the center of attention we quickly took them off. When our server came back she was like....where are your buttons?

She was like...I already saw them and they already no..so their is no point, you should just put them back on.
The food comes out in kind of a parade. I believe there was singing and lots of banging. haha.
Beans that I could not have (WHY do they put bacon in beans? I don't get it)
This is as close as I got to the chicken..sorry!
Veggie burger.....sorry i was too hungry and forgot to take a picture first!
There was also mash (you can see it next to my burger)
We thought the food was really good. I know lots of people say that the dinner shows are more for the show than the food but we thought the food was great!
It was about halfway through the show when they ask if anyone is celebrating an honeymoon or anniversary. The performers come over and talk to you and then announce it to everyone. Our server came over and grabbed DH's arm and rose it. well there goes that! So they came over announced it and then we had to dance for everyone. it was funny but I am pretty sure I was bright red the whole time.
BTW I love the blonde's dress and wanted it.
for dessert you get strawberry shortcake.
This was also really really good.
and of course you need the wash board photo
DH really enjoyed this!
The performers were really great and lots of fun. We really enjoyed the show.
As we got our bill our server came by with anniversary pins and said I hope I will see you again on your anniversary. which was really sweet. We really liked her! (now we have to go back!)
We def would go back. The food was good and the show was as well. Its def something to try at least once but I think that it would be fun to go back a lot! Its a great atmosphere. We highly recommend it.
