Day 4 Part 2
hey all, i'm in a total funk/mood today so i think this is the perfect day to do this review!
So today we made a big mistake. We were very hungry early so we decided to see if we could get in to our ADR at 50's prime time early.
We arrived about 40 mins early and met a very very nice CM. Who was so happy that it was our honeymoon. He said he would do the best he could to get us in early. So we walked around, i was sooooo excited to eat here and I took a million pictures (i'll spare you)
We didn't wait more than 10 mins and we were called. "Mom" came and met us to lead us to our seat. She was super in character and lots of fun. Though DH said she was a bit young to be mom especially because she was younger than me! oh well. So we are led to our table. which I will call "the worse table in the whole restaurant" She then says "cousin" will take care of us. which in my head i'm like....oh crap....i hope cousin is at least a girl because I know some of the guys are terrible.

I don't know if you can tell from this but we are in the corner, a very very dark corner which is hard to get in and out of. There is like no themeing in this dark corner. and we can see everyone else in such nice themeing and it made us sad, alone in our dark corner....(can you tell I wasn't too excited about our seats?!) DH says we can't say much because we got in early....but I thought they'd give us a good seat because they were so excited about us being on our honeymoon!
None the less I was still excited, I was looking forward to this so much!!!

Our server came by, it was a guy....he was nice i guess but not into his job and def not in character. he was dull and totally uninspiring. There was a waitress working near us that was loud and mean, seriously i would have been way happier then with dull man. I tried to not let it bother me. I mentioned my dietary needs....to which I received a total blank stare. Pretty much like.....AND? deal. He did not offer a chef, in fact I said everything except can't you just get a chef? but he was like this is the menu. so a little annoyed. I said okay I guess we'll have the onion rings because there's nothing else?! To which i was like are you sure there is no meat cooked in the same oil.....he said no but I really didn't trust him.
I got a diet coke
and DH got a chocolate shake
So we shared Beer Battered Onion Rings for Two - served with Horseradish sauce
can you tell how dark our corner was?! They were okay? normal onion rings that you can get in a greasy diner anywhere in the states. (for way cheaper i'm sure) I was unimpressed.
but I still had time to play...hehe
so for my entree without any choices I got
Uncle Dana's Artichoke and Ricotta Agnolotti - Pearl Pasta with Roasted Zucchini and Crookneck Squash with spicy Tomato Broth
this is not what I got....I have no idea what this is but I don't think it was the same at all. The best way to describe it is, chef boyardee gone way wrong. I think that spaghettios are way better. Now....the description is up there....and I told him I am allergic to mushrooms (now i'm not really.....but I HATE them with a passion) the entire thing was mushrooms. It says no where in the description that there are mushrooms in this!!! Now our waiter was SO bad and I was so hungry that I just said nothing. He made it sound like there was nothing they could do for me and I was stuck. so horror of horror I just ate it. Then I had to do something with the mound of mushrooms left. I knew i'd get yelled at because of course my luck that would be the one thing he did in character.....
so I made poor DH eat all of them. ugh. such a bad meal.
DH got Char-grilled Butcher Tender Steak - with red wine sauce, sauteed mushrooms, cheddar scalloped potatoes, and green beans
DH did not do much better. even the picture looks terrible. he said the sauce was weird and it was just all around not good. He was extremely disappointed...and me forcing mushrooms on him so i didn't get yelled at....didn't help.
for Dessert DH got Dad's Brownie Sundae - Rich fudge brownie with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge and caramel topping
so...now because the desserts are in seen through those tiny pictures.....it is very hard to see the size of the food...
DH loved dessert but this just made him feel ill.

Now i saved my shake for dessert I got the PB&J shake
now this was awesome and was the highlight of the meal. I would get this as take out if they offered it...I am so happy I saved this for last instead of getting it as a drink because it made me feel a little better.
so....review of 50's prime time? total disappointment. I donno if we had a bad night or what but terrible. we left both feeling kind of ill and grumpy. I would have been way happier with a veggie burger at one of the quick serves by TOT. and I had been looking forward to it for so long. We also had such a great experience at Sci-Fi 2 years before so we both wished we had gone there instead. I don't know if we'd ever go back. I wanted to like it so badly. but there was too much going bad to like it.

I am surprised because we have gone a bunch of times and even had our first dinner with our guests on NYE for our pre wedding gatering and the waiters/waitresses were always fun! Tell Luke to get the Fried Chicken next time (if you ever go back) it is actually their best dish (IMO) or DH likes the meatloaf there also. (I am not a veg. so not sure what to advise you what to eat 
) Biscuits and cinnamon bun.
