A Typo?? $.93 a night and 1.13?

Did anyone see the Today show this morning? If so, could someone who saw it confirm that our reservations WILL be honored? Thank you!

I was one of the fortunate ones that got this rate (I opted to upgrade .20 and get the room with a view for 1.18!) and I will be so thrilled if this works out! we are staying a few days before the Disney Cruise that leaves on Oct. 22 and then back again on the 29th to stay 1 more night and visit MK again. This is so GREAT!!! Can I just say how excited I am about this! If you think about it, look at how much business this HI is going to get from all this publicity and look at how much we all spend at Disney! we deserve this break! :Pinkbounc
And Thank goodness I have such a WONDERFUL FRIEND like disneyfan551 that called me FRANTICALLY and we got our resys on line while talking on the phone to each other, actually screaming about this to each other!!!! Yippee! :cheer2: Now I owe her some drinks! :earboy2:

CONGRATULATIONS to everyone that got this rate!! :goodvibes

Me too, I upgraded to a Disney view with two double beds for $1.18/night - booked 8 nights in late September/early October, I'm so excited - :cool1:

Thank you! I just called the HI world reservations number, and the agennt I talked to confirmed this.
He alo said that this rate was part of promo that loaded wrong...it should have been stay 3 nights, get the next night for 93 cents....
Before I hung up. he reminded me that I woud be charged $25 if I cancel.....I assured him that I will keep my ressie :Pinkbounc he wasn't surprised ;)

I love how there are people going nuts about this. The hotel "lost" $120,000 in revenue off their rack rates. They also got regional news coverage and a segment on the Today Show, as well as rooting some good viral marketing. They've gained WAY more than they lost on this glitch, and people like my DS and SIL get to benefit. Yay! :)

That's cool - at least now I know I won't be the only person checking in with that rate during that time..................

I see a potential disaster - checking in and they say "I'm sorry you can't have that room for that price" and not being prepared - I'll be sure to be prepared just in case something like that happens, LOL!!!!! :cool1:

Printed it off as well....thanks a million.( or at least the couple of hundred I saved)

Well, I didn't realize that by posting that.. this thread could go all sorts of directions. I'm not sure how I feel about being called a cheater, bad parent, etc because of this. Quite honestly, I think of myself as an ethical person that demonstrates morals to her children.

Anyway, I'm glad they're honoring any booked rates. I can't imagine going to Disney for a week on 10 bucks!!

I booked the rate too! We are checking in for 4 nights Oct 9th-13th. I'm taking my email confirmation and the press release as well!! Hope all goes well. My only concern is that we have 4 small children and occupancy could be a problem, we booked a room with a king bed and sofa sleeper and will bring my toddlers redi-bed. Does anyone if this could be a problem? The 1-800 number refers us to the hotel directly which is currently undergoing a renovation so I'm not sure who to ask. :confused3

Don't given them any reason to not honor your rate. Check in solo and then go to the car (or cab) and get the family. The desk should have no reason to ask how many are in your party. We do this all the time because most rooms say just 2 or 4 people and we frequently travel with 5 total. I don't want to be forced to get a suite because I have a 2 yo. We also did this at POFQ when we were not booked as a package.

Hope I don't get called a cheater for this post. Good luck.

I agree with RichNKatHolly - leave the gang in the car, check in & then come back in a bit OR have the wife walk up separate with the kids. Maybe you bring the luggage + 1 of the kids, have the wife wait maybe 5 minutes & she walks up with the other 3.

According to Holiday Inn's website, the King bed with pullout says 5 Persons Max per room, then if you click the link it describes it as this: Persons includes the total number of people staying in the room, including children.

We did something similar when we stayed at the animal kingdom lodge (we had a room that had a queen + twin bunks). I checked in with my daughter & then met my sister, brother in law & 3 yr old neice (at the time) in the parking lot, gave them a card key & they walked in seperate after getting all their luggage & stuff together. No one was the wiser.

It IS alittle different at the Holiday Inn as the check in desk is smack dab by the front door so you would have to walk right past them so it may look obvious if you walk in together as a family of 6. BUT there is a back entrance that you can take, not hard to find & you wont have to worry about walking by the person that just checked you in. In fact, sometimes parking is alittle crowded so you may even HAVE to park around back.

Have fun!!!!!!!!

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm still on :cloud9: !!! I'm SOO excited!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: I'm even thinking of an unplanned post-Christmas trip now! :teeth:

I don't mean to be rude, but at $1.18 per night why didn't you book two rooms? They probably would have guarenteed connecting rooms and if not, oh well, you're out $20. I can understand why large families might want to scrape by when the rooms are expensive, but at $1.18 per night?!?

Not to jump in on the other poster, but I didn't book 2 rooms at the same time, because I wasn't even sure that the ressie would go through. And, the website clearly stated $25 cancellation fee per room. I had 2 other rooms that I "should" have booked at the same time for others in our group, but I was a nervous wreck just hoping it would go through!!! And as I was trying to book the other rooms seperately, the ressie system went down! :guilty: I just have to be happy with the room I did get, and hope for other deals to come along for the rest of the members in our group! :wizard:
