A Typo?? $.93 a night and 1.13?

Wow! I am seriously surprised at the amount of people who are angry on this thread.

Why do people care if others got to get this "mistaken" rate? I see a lot of anger from people "Your room will be dirty", "you get what you pay for".

Holiday Inn did not seem to have a problem with selling this rate. Several people on this thread (and I am sure others) called Holiday Inn, including the hotel itself to find out about this rate. And still they had it available for 17 hours! If they did not care, why should anyone else?

I am really surprised by the way people sound on this thread. Of course maybe there is just some jealousy that they did not get the rate.

ITA!!!

I REALLY don't understand the people saying, "I just couldn't do that, it wouldn't be right" :confused3
Is it not a common practice for Supermarkets and chain stores to honor the price on the shelf for an item. Some places they even give it to you free if they mismark it!!
They are fixing to reopen, they have had NATIONWIDE publicity, AND look like the good guys that they are honoring the deal. Think of how many customers have become loyal customers now? I bet their website has had more "hits" in the past couple of days than EVER before!

Shame on the people trying to make this about moral character! :sad2:

Just as an FYI - I AM one of those people that booked at the $1.13 rate. I have 2 rooms booked in August & 5 rooms booked for Labor Day weekend (have quite a few people going for a mini reunion).

I did call Guest Relations the same evening I booked, I was referred to a Senior Case Manager (I will NOT list her name as I dont want her inundated with TONS of calls). She was SUPER sweet & confirmed all was well. I asked if she could email me something from the corporate office or from Guest Relations so I would not have a problem when we try to check in. She said she would & called me back last night to let me know that the Holiday Inn location itself WILL BE EMAILING EVERYONE THAT HAS A CONFIRMED RESERVATION to say yes they are honoring the rate so you will have a piece of paper from the actual hotel itself saying all will be OK. I believe it will be from the actual MANAGER of the Holiday Inn on Hotel Plaza Blvd.

Be on the look out for an email coming up next week. I'll post again when I get mine just incase someone else's goes to their spam folder - you can know what to go look form & when.

HOORAY for all of us that actually got it all worked out!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thank you!! You are sooo Good!!! :smooth:

Gymbomom,

I agree with you 100% - I did not get this rate as we are going in June. But, those who are making this a moral issure are simply jealous that they are likely spending hundreds, maybe thousands, more for their trip. Congrats to those of you who got this amazing rate!! THere is certainly NOTHING wrong or immoral about being a good steward of the money God has given you!! Have greats trips - I can't wait to hear about the "$10 Disney trip!!".

Actually a number of those people posted while the website was still accepting bookings.

The people booking knew it was a mistake and decided it was worth a shot. No problem. The web is filled with pricing mistakes, most vendors are now cancelling the orders HI decided to they could live with the bookings.

HI could have cancelled the reservations, they decided not to.

NOW the (few) posters who are trying to pretend like this wasn't a mistake but a secret promotion and that they could have sued to make HI honor the mistaken rate are living in another world.

I am one of the first people to get the rate. I wasnt planning a trip to the world but thought What the hell and booked on a whim. I think I posted 6th or something. I went to bed thinking nothing would come of it and when I checked again the next day around 5 or so I found out that the rate was good.

I am so excited. This is and was the deal of a lifetime.

To all the Naysayers-------i say SORRY, sour grapes never made a good bottle of WHINE

OK, so all the people saying how "wrong" the people are who "took advantage" of this deal...you mean to tell me if you were in the store and something rang up cheaper than it was supposed to, that you would sit and argue with the cashier that it is supposed to be more expensive....I DON'T THINK SO!!! Give me a break...sounds like we have a few green eyed mosters on this thread!!!!! If I would have known about it you better believe I would have booked it, and the only person who is going to judge me ( or the only person I CARE who will judge me) is GOD.

Yes I am one of those people that if the merchandise rings up at the wrong price I point it out to the cashier or go back into the store and get it corrected.

WELL....WELL.....

FYI.... On the TODAY show, Friday, 5/6, Katie and Matt interviewed a family who got ressies @ this HI for .93 per night!!

YA HOO for them!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

It was a type-o but the hotel honored it!! The DW then called her entire familay and booked 5 rooms to have a "grand gathering" !!!

WOW......and free PR for the HI..... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I actually do point out in the supermarket if I am charged too less for an item. If I'm told, thank you, but we'll honor the incorrect mistake, I don't give it another thought, as it's their choice. I think this is the same. Many people had said, if it's not honored, well, than it's not. The HI took it as a great advertising thing..and decided to honor it. Their choice and good for those who got it. If they hadn't thought it up in advance, I sure do think they are lovin' the publicity it's getting now. They couldn't have bought this much advertising for what this will cost them.

I too have been amazed at the few people I'm finding here on the DIS that think they are truly the morality police. It's the same few and they post all over on various threads, preaching about who is moral or immoral and not fit to be parents or whatever. I usually come to the DIS for pure enjoyment and information on planning our trips, but a few of these people are so out of line and ridiculous that I can't take much more. I have not been singled out by any of them, so this is not an act of vengence on my part or anything, it's just getting old reading these lectures  !! Wow, this might be as mean as I ever "talked" on a thread - lol, but enough is enough!
