A Typo?? $.93 a night and 1.13?

Looks like great promotion if you ask me...They are getting really good press.

Yup. That's her. Thanks for the link.

I watched the video clip. He said 1,208 room nights were resserved over a 6 mos span! WOW!

Just a quick calculation:

They have 323 rooms...

If they rent then for 6 months that's 58140 nights of accomadations.

Over that same 6 months (180 days) they rented these LOW rates for 1208 room nights.

What percentage of rooms did they rent out for real cheap...

0.02%.....Wonder what their advertising budget is?

There is no way these rooms would have been all full for those dates. The hotel has a new name and has been closed for almost a year...They might even benefit from this exposure...Just a thought :umbrella:

There was a story about this on my local news tonight. They said the hotel WILL honor those with a confirmation number at the reduced rates.

WOW

I made Resies at 2 in the morning last night on a whim. Little did I know this was gonna turn out this way. I dont even think I can get off of work. I will sure try!!!!!

THANKS PAM.....YOU ROCK......I LOVE CINCINATTI NEWS 5

See what happens when people are not in command of their decimals...Whenever I see something marked .49(cents sign--don't have it on my keyboard), I'll say to the clerk, "Hey, that's less than a penny." I usually get a blank stare in response.
Math is Power!

Now, if only Disney properties could move a few decimals in their pricing...

Hi Everyone

I spoke to a good friend of mine who was in Disney over spring break. He said that the storms from last summer did heavy damage to the Holiday Inn. He said that when he and his wife drove past the hotel it was "Just a shell". Please check with the hotel and before you arrive.

This was on my local news as well in Cleveland.. were any of you the woman they interviewed? Just curious! :)

Unreal.......
Congrats to everyone who got the rate!! That is awesome!

I just can not believe people are saying it is dishonest or cheating??? People just like to rain on others good fortune.
It is like the people get mad about AP rates coming out early, the night before, and people telling them that the CM will get fired because they took advantage of them????
The hotel could have honored it or not. If then you were not understanding and threw a fit, I would raise my eyebrows at you. :) but, otherwise....WAY TO GO!!!

It was pretty much all together in Feb. In either December or January (just past), we ate in the downstairs restaurant. They were working away on the hotel at that time...and we didn't see anything resembling a "shell", although they were still doing a lot of work on it. We do reminsce everytime we go by, about the time we had the great rate, so we always notice it. Again, I hate to beat a dead horse, but a planned refurbishment was underway anyway. A lot of the "damage" was was part of the refurbishment. The hotel really needed to be redone. We'll be going by for sure in May (less than 2 weeks), and once again we'll "check it out"

That is good to hear. I wish everyone who got the great rate "CONGRATULATIONS!!!". My friend didn't say anything about it being refurbished but I am sure that was part of it. Thanks for the reply. Have fun in Disney. We are going June 29 - July 10

I'm not holier than thou but at 9:30 I had the reservation booked for 10 days in Oct and could not press the button because it is wrong and if I had , I would have offered Holiday Inn to book the room for a reasonable bargain rate of 30 a night. To me its even more appalling the Katie C would tell people to sell the ones they won't use on ebay profit from an honest mistake...Its our countrys mentality its a big company they can afford it, well we all pay for that sooner or later. I feel really good this morning that I did the right thing and did not book a reservation. :earsgirl:

I was one of the fortunate ones that got this rate (I opted to upgrade .20 and get the room with a view for 1.18!) and I will be so thrilled if this works out! we are staying a few days before the Disney Cruise that leaves on Oct. 22 and then back again on the 29th to stay 1 more night and visit MK again. This is so GREAT!!! Can I just say how excited I am about this! If you think about it, look at how much business this HI is going to get from all this publicity and look at how much we all spend at Disney! we deserve this break! :Pinkbounc
And Thank goodness I have such a WONDERFUL FRIEND like disneyfan551 that called me FRANTICALLY and we got our resys on line while talking on the phone to each other, actually screaming about this to each other!!!! Yippee! :cheer2: Now I owe her some drinks! :earboy2:

CONGRATULATIONS to everyone that got this rate!! :goodvibes

I think you're fooling yourself if you really think it was a promotion. It was a mistake.

I don't blame all of you for taking advantage of the mistake, though. I admit that I tried to book this hotel for NYE (12/29-1/1). We're at BWV for $750 for 3 nights and I would have handled being off-site (as much as I hate it ;)) if I could save $740. I guess we all have our price :rotfl2:. Unfortunately, the rate was pulled while I was making my reservation. C'est la vie. I guess I'm staying onsite after all :flower:.

I heard about this on my local 11:00 news last night. They said it was a programming error and Holiday Inn will honor the approximately 1200 reservations that were made, as long as you have a valid confirmation code.

It was 1200 nights booked total, not reservations. I thought the same thing till I saw it on TV.
