A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

Great Soarin pics MeMom! I love catching the golf ball, and I'm really good at it, never missed it a single time! Now if I were trying to hit it, well, let's just say that's another story......:rolleyes1

memom...today Caleb and I went shopping as he needed new PJ's...but he ended up with a lot more than that...wonder how that happened :confused3 Anways...here are a couple of pictures for you!

We first went to Target and it was his first time sitting up in a cart on his own! These pictures are cell phone pictures.

We went to the mall and went to the disney store...he was tired...he was not happy! This was his 1st visit and he was not pleased! :lmao:

0606091303.jpg

We ended up finding the mickey reversable hat that i wanted on disneyshopping but did not want to pay shipping for that one item and it ended up being sold out...and i found it there and on sale along with mickey swimshorts and rashguard. I also found mickey swimshorts and a plain white rashguard at Babies r Us :woohoo:....all of this is of course for our WDW trip in Feb as he can;t fit into them now...and hopefully they will fit next summer too!

We went to Macy's and I found this....an ipod and camera vending machine! I have never seen anything like it!
0606091347.jpg

And just because I think this picture is cool...i took this the other morning with my cell phone...it was his first time sitting up on his own and taking his bottle! I love how it turned out with the sunshine coming through the window...my mom said he looked like an angel! LOL!

Waking up to Soarin' . Great way to start the day.:thumbsup2

I'm going to be riding Soarin' first thing on my birthday morning. I decided that was a great way to start a new year!

I'm finally trying to get caught up on my TR reading!! :cool1:

Awesome pictures of Soarin'! When we went on this last trip, seeing the picture above had new meaning for us since we know Chuck will soon be on an aircraft carrier.

Have a great weekend MeMom and Jill! :goodvibes

You've been a very busy girl!!! Hopefully, you are enjoying furniture by now!

You have a great rest of the weekend, too. You'll be in our thoughts and prayers as Chuck is away. I know you get used to it somewhat, but it's still hard to have him gone.

You got such GREAT pics of Soarin! I love that ride!

Me, too! It's my #1 favorite!

As... Soarin' in the morning! I will be doing it for real in less than two weeks!

I know! Lucky you!!!

You have just made my morning!! Pictures of Soarin. I was totally contemplating taking pictures but I was too busy enjoying my ride to do it. :lmao:

I rode it twice this trip. I took pictures once and didn't the other time. Since you've just gotten back, I know you can really transform yourself into being in that hang glider again pretty easily!

Thanks for the Soarin' pictures. We rode this for the first time in April. We weren't planning on it, the kids were unsure, DH and I get motion sickness. Well, since it was Spring Break and we got to the turnstiles at 7:45 for a 9:00 rope drop, they went ahead and let us in at 8:00. They told us we had a surprise waiting for us. Turned out they were taking a group of about 200 of us to ride Soarin' before the park opened. So we did it and everybody loved it. No motion sickness for us and it is now our favorite ride.

I'm glad you did it, and I'm glad you didn't get sick.
I'm also glad you loved it!
How lucky is that that you got to go in for an early ride?!?!?
I'd love that to happen to us sometime.

Awww, I love the Soarin pictures!! I can just smell those wonderful scents right now!!!:goodvibes

The snow, the ocean, the river, the oranges....it's a great ride.
Someone that rode recently said the scents weren't working when they rode it, but I can't remember where I read that.

I love waving at Tinkerbell on Soarin'. Haha, B/F laughs at me.

That's appropriate that you wave at your friend! :wave2:

I love love love Soarin' Thanks for the pictures - so fun remembering the ride.

Glad you enjoyed the pictures and the good memories. :)

You catch it?
I get hit smack in the head by it every time!

Or maybe that's just my kids hitting me and blaming it on the ball.

He looked quite happy to be at Target. Maybe he didn't like the sight of all those dresses behind him there in the Disney Store picture. ;)

They have a lot of cute swimwear there, I saw when we went a few weeks ago.

On photobucket, you go to the IMG code and left click. It turns blue. Then you right click and hit Copy. Then you go to your post and hit Control V. I don't know if Shutterfly is the same, because I know little to nothing about computers.

I hope someone will be able to help, because we want to see your pictures!

I warned Kay about the Soarin' trot, and she did a great job of keeping up and not getting lost or trampled. :) She thought it was pretty funny to see the stampede of people heading toward The Land. After you've done it a few times, you know the routine and it doesn't seem unusual, but for someone not so used to it, it does seem odd to see grown people holding on to each others' shirts and doing the shuffle step in the crowd of people shuffle step racing toward a theme park ride!

i've never personally done the soarin shuffle step. you know we like to sleep in and as long as it's not too busy, i'm happy getting a fastpass and doing it later. but it's something i want to do one day! it's so funny to see masses of people moving in one direction in an orderly fashion like that though. it was like that when we did rope drop to meet tink in december. but the walk to her area wasn't as long as the soarin walk so probably not as funny!

So, let's soar!

you are so funny with your soarin pictures! :goodvibes

I was pleased with how well Tink showed up.

:thumbsup2

the last time we rode this was with luke and it was his first time. he was kinda timid at first but once he got used to it, every time the scene would change, he'd say, "COOL!!!!!" it was really cute!

Morning MeMom,

I came home to find all your pictures of Soarin and thought of this video; have you ever seen it? It is one family's personal version of Soarin'.

Yippee! A Sunday morning ride on "Soarin".....splendid! :woohoo:

I can't believe you got Tinkerbell in that pic, so special. ;)

/

Awesome pic!!

I'm going to have to do this sometime!! I was going to in the fall when Dawn and I were there but they had told someone down past me they had to put everything under the seat and I didn't think I could get away with my camera being in my lap. But I would LOVE to see what kind of pics I could get!!

We are back from FL and now headed up to the pool on this BEAUTIFUL day!!

Hope you girls are good!!! :goodvibes

What a great Sunday morning at Epcot! The Soarin' trot :rotfl: you're right about that! Kinda like the TSM dash!

Love the Soarin' pics too. The one with Tink came out so good, I can't believe she is so clear.

CBR is just beautiful! Thank you for the pics-and what a neat slide. Ed looked like such a nice guy, I'll have to keep a watch for him in December and say HELLO! (He's practically famous now!)

Awesome Sorain' pics too! Ahhhhh-they all gave me a sappy grin. :goodvibes

WHOA CUTENESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :lovestruc

I wish everybody liked to sleep in.
Everybody but us, of course.
We could ride several times over before the crowds pick up! :)

I can't wait until Brooklynn can ride it. I know she won't love it as much as we do as grown-ups, but I hope she likes it and isn't scared by it. I still don't understand why she can ride Barnstormer but not Soarin'.

Morning MeMom,

I came home to find all your pictures of Soarin and thought of this video; have you ever seen it? It is one family's personal version of Soarin'.

If it's the one where the guys build one in their backyard, I have seen that before. They put a lot of work into that.

I was thinking it would also be kind of neat if Disney could make the seating move just a little in Impressions de France and make moving seating for the Canada movie, too. Those movies already give you a little bit of a movement sensation the way they're made, and if the seats just barely moved, like when you're going down the waterways, they would be more like Soarin' - more realistic.

Yippee! A Sunday morning ride on "Soarin".....splendid!

I can't believe you got Tinkerbell in that pic, so special.

I got lucky on the picture, of course, but I was pleased.

Awesome pic!!

Did you have fun iFlorida?
It is a pretty day here in Middle Tennessee.

My camera is always around my neck. No one has ever said anything about it. I don't hold it up, but rather just shoot from my lap, and I never use a flash. I don't think it has ever bothered anyone, because I don't think anyone can ever tell I'm shooting. I've got to think of some new ways to shoot things at Soarin' this time. Something different.

What a great Sunday morning at Epcot! The Soarin' trot you're right about that! Kinda like the TSM dash!

Love the Soarin' pics too. The one with Tink came out so good, I can't believe she is so clear.

Yeah, I'd like to be in a helicopter above watching the openings at the parks. I'm sure it is very interesting!

When we got off of Soarin', we went and got our Fastpasses for a second trip later on.

disney3-18-09AKEpcot177.jpg

Then we went to Sunshine Seasons to get some breakfast.

It was too early to eat this delicious chicken,

disney3-18-09AKEpcot178.jpg

but not too early to take a picture of it and take in the awesome aroma!

We got a yummy breakfast that was more than we could eat.

After that, we went on Living with the Land.

I quite enjoy this ride, and it always makes me want to come back and grow a marvelous garden.

I never do.

disney3-18-09AKEpcot182.jpg

I wondered about Amaranth, so I did some research.
It is also called pigweed.
It is used more in African cooking, so I guess they may use this in some of the stuff at Boma and Jiko.

People in Ancient Greece thought it to have special healing powers. It was a symbol of immortality.

I think it didn't work. As far as I know, they all died. :upsidedow

The fish and gator section.

I eat a lot of cucumbers. I think they should give us a free cucumber as a sampler for riding the ride. :)

disney3-18-09AKEpcot197.jpg

As much as I would love to have a nice garden, I don't have the time or knowledge to do one up properly, so I just go to the grocery store, like most people, and pick up what others have grown for me. Maybe when I retire, if that ever happens, I can learn how to do it right.

I might even grow Mickey-shaped pumpkins.

CBR is just beautiful! Thank you for the pics-and what a neat slide. Ed looked like such a nice guy, I'll have to keep a watch for him in December and say HELLO! (He's practically famous now!)

I still haven't properly walked around all the resort at CBR. Every time it has been raining or I've been on a time schedule. Eventually I will have some wandering time, and I'll wander over there. It's right by Pop, so I wish there was a path I could walk through to get there. I'd do that on one of my morning walks.

When we saw him on our last day, Ed was at the part right after you pick up your 3D glasses. He only works on weekends. If I see him this summer, I'll tell him he's famous.

Loved, loved your Soarin pics. That was Avery's favorite ride right after BTMR. First time I went I cried through the whole thing-born and raised in Southern Ca, college in Nothern Ca. I am all Ca LOL. It was just like going home. Awesome!
Also really liked Living the Land-have a cool double hidden Mickey pic for my TR.
Great update!

I love Living with the Land. It really is just a great ride and so neat what they do! It always inspires me to grow a garden too but it never happens. :lmao:

I have never done Living with the Land. I think it looks like a lot of fun. :) We plan on doing the rush to Soarin' in the morning. I hope the kiddos and I don't get trampled or anything. ;)

Did you have fun in Florida?

We had a great time....I went with the my neighbor, which is the same group I will be going to Disney with. The girls are 3 1/2 and 5mo. and they were SO good!!! Not that I really thought any different but I hadn't been around Rylee that much since she has gotten older and this was Katelyn's first trip :upsidedow. They did great in the car....on the beach....at the pool....in the evenings, it was very nice!

Thought about stopping by to say hi to Jill as we passed through N. AL :flower3:...but I did wave!

It is a pretty day here in Middle Tennessee.

I had a great time at the pool and added to my tan :cool2:

My camera is always around my neck. No one has ever said anything about it.

I will try that. I think that's what I had done that time and ended up putting it away. I can take some great pics without a flash, but that's with not much motion. But I would love to try it and just see what I could get!

I wondered about Amaranth, so I did some research.
It is also called pigweed.
It is used more in African cooking, so I guess they may use this in some of the stuff at Boma and Jiko.

Maybe that's why the food at Disney is SO good!! They use all fresh stuff from the Land :thumbsup2

As much as I would love to have a nice garden, I don't have the time or knowledge to do one up properly

You should try the topsy turvey tomato plants. We have 2 of those this year and they seem to be doing really well!! I will keep you updated, but they are VERY easy!

Hmmm that Sunshine Seasons breakfast looks yummy. We've only had lunch there and the food is so much better than the typical theme park fare.

I like Living with the Land too. Its cool to know they actually use some of that stuff in the food at WDW. The only thing my BF and I were confused about was why they had alligators in there? :confused3

Great updates, MeMom. CBR looks so nice. I'd love to visit the resort (or better yet, stay there!) some day. So nice that you were able to get a ride over there!

I loved your Soarin' pictures. If I could go to WDW right this minute and ride just one ride, it would be Soarin'. I just love it! I also enjoyed your Living with the Land photos. That ride is one that I wouldn't have thought I'd be all that crazy about, but I really liked it! So relaxing and interesting, too.

I've eaten both lunch and dinner at Sunshine Seasons, but never breakfast. I may have to try that next trip.

Looking forward to your next update!

Yummy breakfast plates!

I enjoyed the Living with the Land pics. My DMom loves that ride, she wishes she could copy some of thier ideas. :goodvibes

Vandyfan, glad you had a lovely time at the beach.

I love the epcot opening its so intimate especially when you're up there! I havent been to it in a while I always seem to miss it, but maybe with my october trip ill make it!
