A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

I am with ILUVXU, I am having a teeny tiny bit of resort envy at the gorgeousness of CBR! Another trip, perhaps!!!

That was so super sweet of Dancin' Princess' dad -- he seems like a really nice guy!

CP- No resort envy for you ! Don't forget where you are staying !!!!! That is what I have reserved for true resort envy (A deluxe!). You will love AKL... just like I love the WL. Any Disney resort I am happy at, but some just bring a sense of awe, like the lodges!

MeMom and Jill, was it very crowded when you were there after Thanksgiving? I have to reschedule and I am looking at that week. We would get there the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

It is crowded, but we always head out early and get everything done without the crowds. It really didn't affect us much. Seeing the Christmas decor at all the resorts is nice, and the Osborne Lights are a must-do. I say go for it!

Of course, I always say go for it, so I may not be the one to ask.

We are very much not Halloween people - so this is good to hear! I think it would just be fun to be dressed up in the MK. I guess we could do that on ANY day and not be looked at as terribly strange though.

He'll be like Brooklynn and calling it "his" Magic Kingdom. :goodvibes

Does the Snow White on that bag have red eyes?

I've never seen anything happening on that stage in DTD. It sounds like it would be fun to watch for a few minutes and enjoy the tunes while venturing around.

I had no idea they had car races in the Lego store. We have never gone inside (much to Joe's dismay! ;)). Do you recall if they sell those big block Legos, (Duplos?)? Henry would have a BALL watching those car races!

Completely adorable. :cutie: I love her messages and how she always pics the pirate face!

I've always wanted to do the Gospel Brunch too, I've never read a review of it, but it sounds like a great time.

You'd love the Halloween stuff. I can't see how anybody wouldn't love that parade, and the fall decor is so pretty on Main Street.

Brooklynn is very ready to go back to her Magic Kingdom!

The red eyes may be from my camera. I'll check again soon and see if I can get a better shot.

I didn't notice about Duplo blocks. I'll go back on the trip and get you some better pictures.

I have read some reviews, and they were complimentary. I love gospel music, my family, Disney World and food (not in that order, of course), so that combination would just about put me in heaven!

Wow some of those postcards look familiar. Declan received a couple from Mickey and the Gang just like them. ;)

Those pictures of CBR brought back some nice memories and it was nice to see the pool with some water in it.

I thought you and Ma would look fondly upon those CBR pictures. :)
The pool looks awesome! We'll stay there someday when the girls are old enough to enjoy it.

Thanks so much pictures of CBR, I just love to see those pool areas all cleaned up and ready for the guests! We have never stayed there but I hear it's a great resort. How nice of Ed to make you trip even more magical!

For some reason I'm reminded that I need to get back over to DTD..... :rolleyes1

Ed was a very nice guy - very easygoing and friendly, as if he knew us all along. I think his daughter had filled him in quite a bit about our Disney obsession.

I like pictures of Disney pools in the early mornings - so peaceful and quiet before the day's activities to come.

I hope you enjoyed your stroll last night!

CBR looks so peaceful! I love that pool!!! My goal is to stay in one of the pirate rooms when Owen is older and can enjoy it!

I bet Owen will love the pirate room and the pool!

Isn't it fun to think about Disney trips yet to come?

I looked "the world" over for these bowls and glasses, but never found them. Guess we didn't shop the right stores. That, or that was God looking out for my pocketbook......probably the latter!

More resort exploring needs to take place on our next trip! I've never seen Caribbean Beach up close. Looks like a fun place! As always - LOVE the pictures! :)

I saw the dinnerware all over the place, and I am amazed that I contained myself. Jill said she's bringing home Disney dinnerware this summer.

I'm glad you enjoy the pictures. It makes me want to take more when people say that, because I want everyone to 'be there' in their minds when they're in need of a little Disney fix.

Great pictures of CBR!

Thanks. It was a pretty place on a pretty morning.
Jill and John stayed there on their honeymoon, by the way.

Wow CBR looks so pretty! I love the shop and the pool. It would be a hit with us big kids if we stayed there

So sweet of DP's dad to pick you guys up!

Yep, you need to go check it out on one of your trips yet to come!

I am having resort envy looking at those pictures. Our first WDW vacation as a kid with our family -- we had been twice before, but not with dad, we stayed at Carribean Beach. It used to be that you had to book there like a year out, before the other Moderates were built or any value. It was such a treat, and my dad caught the Disney bug there. I am kicking myself that we did not stay there this trip... the pool!

I'm glad you enjoyed seeing the pictures. I know you will have lots of chances to stay at CBR with your own kids on future trips. Won't that be fun???

I'm saving Planet Hollywood for a time when we have a longer trip. My DS wants to try it.

I really want one of those candy apples. I wonder if they count as a snack credit?

Cute Tink tee!

CBR is on my moderate wish list. I love how it looks! One day I will stay there, if I ever get a discount code.

The decor around the resort & food court is very neat and colorful.
It was very peaceful, the perfect time for a walk.
Love the pirate ship! Arrrrr! pirate:

How nice of 'Dad' to meet up with you.

I recognize those postcards too, the princess one is on our fridge...:rolleyes1
She still wonders how they knew it was her b-day.

Planet Hollywood would be a good place to go with teenagers, I'm sure.

I'm not sure about an apple bein a snack credit. Maybe someone else can chime in.

The CBR food court looks like an open air market. It's cool. They have good chicken, too!

I love those CBR pics! It's making me all nostalgic for our trip last year. We loved the food court and those fun beaches. Of course, we looked longingly at the pool and couldn't go in! We'll have to go back again so we can swim!

Your boys would love to get a pirate room and play in that incredible pool!
Start the planning!

I need a hug DIS friends....I just found out on another post that our beloved Disney Store is closing at the end of the month.

I cherished having a Disney Store here.

What's a Disney girl to do....:sad1:....the positive side is I will save soo much money!

I am sorry to hear that. I was so glad ours made it through the last cut. We are lucky right now to have two in the area.

That was so super sweet of Dancin' Princess' dad -- he seems like a really nice guy!

You can plan another trip on your way back home next week. :)

That was very nice of her dad to do that. If you go to Toy Story...well, when you go to Toy Story, look for Ed and tell him you're on the Disboards. He's a very nice guy! Ask him how Cheena is doing.

Ahhh CBR is so pretty! :cloud9:

So cool about the Dis'er's dad! :)

Yes, it is.
So is Old Key West!!!!

CP- No resort envy for you ! Don't forget where you are staying !!!!! That is what I have reserved for true resort envy (A deluxe!). You will love AKL... just like I love the WL. Any Disney resort I am happy at, but some just bring a sense of awe, like the lodges!

Yeah, CP, don't forget where you are staying TOMORROW!!!

We're happy anywhere on Disney property, but I know we will love the deluxe feeling one of these days!

I don't have time to proofread right now, so forgive my mistakes. I've got to get moving, and I'll check back to make corrections later.

Have a great day!

I can't really believe that tomorrow I will be on my way to 8 days at AKL!

Oh, you know I will have to plan a trip as soon as we are headed home. Otherwise I won't be able to see the road for the tears.

I will keep an eye out for Ed! :thumbsup2

Woo hoo!!! :woohoo:

I wish they ran the Stay Four Nights, Get Three Nights Free every year.

MeMom and Jill, was it very crowded when you were there after Thanksgiving? I have to reschedule and I am looking at that week. We would get there the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

It was crowded the week of Thanksgiving. John and I went the week after Thanksgiving for an anniversary trip in '05. We arrived the Sunday after Thanksgiving and stayed a week. There is NOBODY there that week. We walked on every ride. I think we might have waited 10 minutes for Space Mountain one afternoon but that was our longest wait. I would highly recommend that week!

The CBR looks like a fun place to stay. I love that food court area. How nice of Ed to drive you around.

we were supposed to stay at CBR on our last trip in 07 but DH is not very patient waiting for buses so I ended up switching to the BW which worked out great for us...we walked to epcot...took a leisurly boat to DHS...walked through epcot and took the monorail to MK and only had to take a bus to AK and DTD...which that is the downfall of the Boardwalk area...the sharing of the bus to AK...yuck!! 5 resorts in one bus is way too many! Too crowded!

Hmm...i was going to go to mansfield to go shopping on Sat (Caleb REALLY needs new PJs) but maybe I will go to COlumbus instead...I haven;t been in the Disney Store yet there and I can now go in since I have a baby...:lmao:

CBR's pool looks awesome! How fun for the little guys. I'm putting it on my wishlist too. Ed seems like such a nice guy. How fun to meet a Dis'ers dad. :)

Thanks guys. That is exactly the week we are going. We are arriving the Sunday after Thanksgiving and leaving the next Monday.

Wow, I am finallly caught up and read the entire report so far. Thanks MeMom and Jill it has been so much fun so far. I think my DD10 and I will be doing a mommy/daughter one day up and back trip at end of July and staying at POP so maybe we will see you guys. That would be 2 years ina row if you count the picture I took with you guys in it at the Poly last 4th of July :0)

Well, as I am writing this, it is TODAY and pretty much RIGHT NOW that you are leaving. I got your PM as you are presently gathering up to leave. Prayers for a safe and magical trip!

The CBR looks like a fun place to stay. I love that food court area. How nice of Ed to drive you around.

CBR doesn't seem to get the greatest of reviews, but I think they are working to change that with the new pool and revamped Pirates and Nemo rooms.

It was very nice of Ed. He volunteered to come and get us so that we didn't have to pay a cab. He said he'd be up anyway and since he was coming to meet us, he might as well come early and save us cab fare.

Walking to Epcot from your 'home' has to be an awesome feeling. Walking back home in five minutes as you are leaving with the Illuminations crowds has to be even more awesome!

You probably should visit the Disney Store whenever you can, since you never know when they are going to suddenly disappear!

CBR's pool looks awesome! How fun for the little guys. I'm putting it on my wishlist too. Ed seems like such a nice guy. How fun to meet a Dis'ers dad.

Don't you know your kids would have a blast at that pool?!?!?

Cheena's dad is an engineer of some kind, I think he said, but he keeps two days a week at Disney for all the perks.

Thanks guys. That is exactly the week we are going. We are arriving the Sunday after Thanksgiving and leaving the next Monday.

I hope it turns out to be perfect for you - with good weather and low crowds! :thumbsup2

Come on up! We'll meet you somewhere. This time, we should get to take a picture of you!

*************************************

This is early Saturday morning. I just got finished PMing back and forth with Charleston Princess, who is on her way to our Happy Place with her sweet family. I hope they have a blast, and I hope Animal Kingdom Lodge is everything they want it to be. They have been so excited for this trip for so long. Her kids are just precious, and I know they'll take a gazillion fun pictures for us to enjoy in the weeks ahead.

Now for the continuing (and continuing and continuing) report.

This picture was taken as we waited for Epcot to open.

We were greeted by the usual crew.

disney3-18-09AKEpcot151.jpg

It's always exciting to see those special friends, but it is also exciting to see these folks,

disney3-18-09AKEpcot152.jpg

because you know they are going to lead you straight to Soarin'!!!

I warned Kay about the Soarin' trot, and she did a great job of keeping up and not getting lost or trampled. :) She thought it was pretty funny to see the stampede of people heading toward The Land. After you've done it a few times, you know the routine and it doesn't seem unusual, but for someone not so used to it, it does seem odd to see grown people holding on to each others' shirts and doing the shuffle step in the crowd of people shuffle step racing toward a theme park ride!

As you can tell, I did not slow down to take this picture as we passed the morning welcome crew!

disney3-18-09AKEpcot153.jpg

In no time at all, we had arrived.

disney3-18-09AKEpcot154.jpg

The next thing we knew, we were here!

disney3-18-09AKEpcot155.jpg

So, let's soar!

And with another safe landing, everyone applauded this fantastic ride!

I'm finally trying to get caught up on my TR reading!! :cool1:

Awesome pictures of Soarin'! When we went on this last trip, seeing the picture above had new meaning for us since we know Chuck will soon be on an aircraft carrier.

Have a great weekend MeMom and Jill! :goodvibes

As... Soarin' in the morning! I will be doing it for real in less than two weeks!

You have just made my morning!! Pictures of Soarin. I was totally contemplating taking pictures but I was too busy enjoying my ride to do it. :lmao:

Thanks for the Soarin' pictures. We rode this for the first time in April. We weren't planning on it, the kids were unsure, DH and I get motion sickness. Well, since it was Spring Break and we got to the turnstiles at 7:45 for a 9:00 rope drop, they went ahead and let us in at 8:00. They told us we had a surprise waiting for us. Turned out they were taking a group of about 200 of us to ride Soarin' before the park opened. So we did it and everybody loved it. No motion sickness for us and it is now our favorite ride.

Awww, I love the Soarin pictures!! I can just smell those wonderful scents right now!!!:goodvibes

I love love love Soarin' Thanks for the pictures - so fun remembering the ride.
